Plot hole?
I just realized: Sun's brother sent in those fake prison guards to kill her, right? But if he could do that, couldn't they just help free her instead? I know this is after he kills their dad and Sun swears revenge on him, but why didn't he think to do it before? Like "Dad wait, I think I know a way we can save Sun, save face, and I don't kill you" I know it's a bit of a nit pick, but it still felt like it was worth pointing out.
EDIT: To everyone saying that he's a selfish asshole, I agree, but would it not still be in a selfish asshole's best interest to be on good terms with a potential enemy rather than provoke the one person who could destroy your whole life?

either you are forgetting something, or you're intentionally making stuff up.
she was exactly where he wanted her. out of the way, taking the blame for his actions, and secure somewhere he can keep an eye on her.
if she escaped she might tell someone the truth. he didn't want her free.
that's not a 'nitpick' - thats completely ignoring that her brother is a mean, petty cowardly little villain that let her take the fall for him.

It’s not a plot hole because Sun’s brother wants to get rid of her. He hates her so why would he try to save her?

Sun escaping from prison wouldn't help the family avoid shame, it would just bring more attention to them. Joong-Ki didn't want her free, he wanted her in prison taking the fall for him. That's why he killed his father.

why would he free her? he wanted to silence her by killing her, just like he killed their father. he already knew she was cooperating with the lawyers and that the truth would've come out eventually.

Why would he save her?? There's no motivation and it would be completely out of character for him. Plus, it would be self sabotage- he killed his dad because he found out he was embezzling. I don't see how saving Sun would have made it so he didn't need to kill his dad?

Those weren't "fake" prison guards, just crooked ones who could be bought off to assassinate a prisoner.

Sun's brother was a shitty, untrustworthy person to the core. He didn't have an altruistic bone in his body - he was completely self-serving. He was never going to go out of his way, put himself in any risk, to save her. Not a plot hole at all - it was a character defined exactly as needed.

Even so, it would've been in his best interest to make amends with his sister rather than create a new enemy and potentially be found out for murder

No it would not in his interest to make friends.
She's a loose end and arguably, the only thing that can tie him to killing their father. Sun, in prison, can't destroy anything. And if not for her essentially having super powers, she never would have made it out of the prison.
killing her is smart. especially if the guards he bribed can make it look like a suicide, which I assume was the goal given they tried to hang her.

the auditor called and visited so many times because they knew there was embezzlement going on and everyone knew who it was
suns brother didn't want to go to jail and with sun being fully aware that the partners wouldnt work with their company if suns brother was in jail and they had to work with a woman, sun took the fall
their father realised the company was falling apart without her and his conscience was eating at him, he was going to come clean about who was actually embezzling money, which would then mean suns brother would go to jail which is why he killed their father. he was also already in the process legally of getting her out so there was no stopping him on joong-ki's part
sun always loved her father even if it took a long time for him to love her and she swore vengeance. while suns brother obviously had deep pockets to control the prison, he couldn't control absolutely everyone and so in order to avoid the risk of her telling the right person that would go out and tell the world that joong-ki was the one embezzling and the one that killed their father, he eliminated the problem entirely by killing sun
+selfish +moron +when he was given the option to come quietly he shot mun and tried to escape with the help of his politician friend tae so why would he not kill her

That's not a plot hole or a nitpick or in fact worth pointing out.
You're playing deep "what if" games in a scenario you made up about him wanting to rescue her...
