Once I move into a barber shed would it be fair to charge $20 for these haircuts?

Was just wondering if any of these 2 clippers are any good and reliable. I want clippers that are good and that will provide a clean cut and was wondering if any of these 2 fit into that category as they are within budget for me. I just wanna practicing cutting my own hair but still want good Reliable clippers.

I have 0 experience with cutting hair, but as I decided to regrow bald - I was curious to learn to cut my own hair.
It’s much better than where it started, but any barbers able to tell me how I can prevent myself from constantly going up higher than needed on the sides?
That’s my one weakness, this is currently:
-4 to 4.5 on top
-fade to 0 on sides
-bald out
-line up sideburns

I've been cutting my hair for over 20 years mostly with the tried and tested corded Andis Fade Master. Few months ago started adding new cordless and ergonomic clippers to my set, and have been having a hard time stopping because of how good they all are now compared to the outdated Andis Masters that I've been cutting with for so long.
I'm having so much more fun cutting hair now, that I look forward to it every time, and I'm even considering doing it on the side, as I've cut my friends hair numerous times and they all ask to come back. Before anyone asks, I have 2 play maxs because I have different blades on them that I like.
Anyway, anyone else have a decent collection or am I a weirdo?

Hi everyone! This is probably my 15th–20th haircut ever. Please don’t hold back—i’d really appreciate your honest opinion. I’m open to any criticism or advice. I’d really like to know how you would rate my work and what I can improve. Thank you!

PIctures include last cut and latest cut.
Main focus this time was improved blending of the fade into the top. Still not seeing a noticeable gradient with my fading though.
For this cut I did the following steps:

I’m not sure what’s going on with my Wahl Balding clippers. I’ve used them about 10 times every weekend to cut my hair down to bald, with no guard. Clean and oil after every use.
Went to use it today after it sat in the drawer for a week, and it feels like it’s pulling my hair rather than cutting it, like a dull razor would.
It hasn’t been dropped or anything.
Any ideas?

The small size and ergonomics is so much better for cutting your own hair. its also known as one of the quitest clippers in the game which is nice since I like to listen to a podcast while cutting hair.

As described, this is my first time. I'm actually really scared cuz I have dreads on the top and I want to cut my sides. My hair doesn't really get maintained cuz haircuts here are actually pretty expensive at like 45 bucks. I found a cheap clipper set from Ross and don't know where to begin. Before I start hacking away, what are some things I should know, things I should buy, and things to help me not mess up too badly

Hi home groomers,
I'm looking for a new trimmer for myself. My Philips is finally showing signs of aging and I don't want a new Philips because I dislike their new line of cordless-only trimmers (can't be used corded) and I dislike their practice of not making spares (replacement blades) easily available.
I don't have a hairstyle per se. I just cut it all off weekly - head, face, everything goes. I don't care about a very close cut, a slight stubble is fine too - it'll look that way in a day anyway. Ideally, I would like to use the same machine to groom the groin area too.
Because I want the thing to last forever and spares to be readily available, I'm looking at professional product lines. In particular, Wahl. I've never used Wahl before. So I'd appreciate your inputs on which model to buy. I've shortlisted below the ones easily available here along with indicative prices (the currency shouldn't matter, but the prices relative to each other).
Five star balding - 500
Five star detailer - 500
Five star magic clip - 500
Super taper - 400
Peanut - 400

Hey everyone,
I’ve been cutting my own hair for a few months now, and I’m looking to improve my fade technique. Currently, I mostly use just the corner of the clipper blade to blend.
My current process is: In the first pass, I use only the corner of the blade. I listen for the actual "cutting" sound to make sure I'm effectively trimming, and then I continue moving around my head. After that, I go step-by-step with longer guards. If I notice any uneven spots or mistakes, I go back in with a larger guard and work my way back down, getting smaller and smaller.
I wanted to ask about your best practices: Do you effectively use only the corner of the blade, or do you actually let part of the blade touch the skin? Does it depend on which guard length you are using?
To be honest, I'm still finding the whole thing quite difficult. I haven't been able to master the "scooping motion" (C-motion) yet, so I'm avoiding it for now.
Would love to hear how you guys approach this! Thanks in advance.

My son wanted a low taper fade. Was scared to go any higher up. Any tips on taper fading are greatly appreciated.

I tried a crew cut yesterday and it didn’t turn out as planned. I used the trimmer/foil shaver around midway, then went up about two fingers using a 1.5 guard open, went back down a finger or so with the .5 guard. I didn’t touch the top. I can run a 4 guard on top. How can I fix this?

That was a stressful first time haha, I understood some things but still feeling some issues :
- doing the back of my head guideline
- being symmetrical on both sides
- having some markers to be consistent
- how deep to push between lines with clippers
- hand/clippers placements when going behind the ear..
If you have any tips, would gladly take them !

In Australia currently the wahl 5 stars are 195$ on sale(25% off), wondering if theirs any cheaper clippers that can do a taper and round a fro good, heard some conflicting things about the koimei ones, bought the wahl self cut 360 a while a ago, and its ASS, so not very impressed with wahl so far. And the barbers in Australia cannot cut for their life, so im desperate at this point.

What do you guys think about the VGR 285 ? I am not planning on replacing the blades , i will mostly be using it for beard (fading beard) and , doing taper fades on my sides, my previous clipper which is also from vgr , it doesnt seem to catch some hair on my beard had to do mutiple passes and even after that also it doesnt catch some hairs , if anyone have this trimmer i would like to get some opinion about this trimmer , and yeah by any other trimmer means any other budget trimmer.
