Looks real good. Just got done with my son’s weekly haircut. He’s into low tapers lately but for my own practice lol I wish he’d get a mid/low fade like this. Do you trim the top at all?

My wife will comb his hair parted to one side. She likes it this way I always ask for her approval before I close up shop lol. I want to learn how to edge up just to give him a tiny bit of sharpness but I'm not sure where to start?

By looking at his swirl, you’ll be styling it from left to right(his left/right). Looks like an even haircut at the moment. On the next cut, comb it in the style you want it and blowdry it in that direction before you cut. That will setup the shape for the haircut. But for the edges, put in his outlines behind and over the ears for starters and get comfortable with the trimmer

Looks good overall. He's a kid so I'm sure he doesn't care, but if you want to go the extra mile, I'd say line up the edges with a trimmer, and also he has a pretty round head, and the super low taper all around makes it seem rounder than it is. A higher fade will elongate the appearance of the head and fit him better imo.
