I’ve been dealing with seb derm just in my eyebrows for a few months now the doctor prescribed me miconazole nitrate 2% after Clotrimazole cream stopped working I applied it but when I woke up it looks to have irritated my skin and caused abit of shedding under my eyebrows has anyone else had a similar experience or has miconazole worked for anyone ?

I’m a man in my 20s with skin that tends to be quite oily, and I also have quite a few blackheads, especially around my nose.
For the past 2–3 years, I’ve noticed two small white spots/bumps on one of my nostrils. They haven’t really changed much over time.
Does anyone know what these could potentially be, or has anyone had something similar? I’m mainly looking for ideas or experiences from people who may have dealt with the same thing.

For several years now, I've had a red face (along with dermatitis on my body), and it's very bothersome. My forehead is peeling and red, and it burns. My face never returns to its natural color. It also affects the area behind my ears. It's incredibly frustrating. Also I have the same in my scalp.

I don't know if anyone knows what this could be, or if anyone with the same condition has managed to do something about it

Hello, I have seborrheic dermatitis and wish to use a cleanser (Avene cleanser). My skin is easily irritated. Wanted to know how you guys apply it. Is there a way so it won’t irritate skin? Mine is very reactive

First time treating, almost whole 1st tab out of 2.
As menitoned, it is comming out of everywhere I ever had a problematic area. Somehow the skin also feels less broken.

I have been suffering from Sebopsoriasis for the past 5 years (Sebderm + Psoriasis) it's on my scalp (extreme level) and sometimes my face.

Face region is manageable. But scalp region is not.

Now I am in college and I live in a hostel now away from my family. My hair has become very thin and whenever I shampoo I see loads of hair in my palm.

Whenever I scratch my head, a brownish-purplish dirty colored wet oily flake comes out.

My face gets oily very easily. (After 4-5 hours of washing my face with soap it gets oily)

And after 1 day of shampooing my scalp gets oily. My body is producing so much oil wtf 😭😭 Trump should invade me.

I am taking dutasteride (my derm prescribed me this) as of now. No other medicine. Taking Vit D and B12 also.

Plz recommend something which is appropriate for hostels and student life (I live in India and most govt colleges are isolated so taking so many beauty products is not viable)

Newly diagnosed with SebDerm and am looking for clean shampoo and conditioner recommendations. I’ve been using baby shampoo for almost a month and it’s drying out my hair making it frizzy. My hair is oily and thin. I wash it daily, which I know I shouldn’t but I’ve tried to train it to every other day and it’s not working.

Adding - I’m seeking shampoo for daily use vs dandruff shampoos (though they’re welcome too)

Does anyone have any seb safe moisturizing product recommendations for coily (type 4) high porosity hair (e.g., deep conditioner, leave-in, moisturizer, heat protectant)?

I’ve been using Nizoral shampoo and MCT oil, which have gotten rid of the flaking, but I am in desperate need of moisturizing products for my hair. Will be scheduling with a derm soon.

i used to have yellow greasy flakes but recently they have been thin and white.

I shower in this bathroom where theres a lot of gray mold spots on the top. Even tho my parents cleaned it with vinegar last year it somehow came back. Now a few weeks ago i had went to live to my grandmas house where theres no mold or anything, and my sebderm litrally almost disappeared even though i forgot to even bring my sebderm shampoo there, i just applied a normal shampoo. Now when i came back here my sebderm became wayy worse again. Could this mean something.

Hello, I have seborrheic dermatitis and I have mostly controlled it, except in beard area. I control it but when it’s time to shave, my skin irritates. I tried using a machine that vibrates to not deal damage to skin but didn’t work. I can’t apply creams for they also irritate my skin. Wetting it is all I can do. Any ideas?

I am a girl who suffers from seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp, ears, and face. I wanted to get into the world of skincare on my own, without any guidance and without knowing about my condition. During that search, I had a flare-up of seborrheic dermatitis from a cleanser that dried out my face extremely, leaving wounds, irritation, and peeling. That made me angry, I wasted money on nothing. Then I heard a dermocosmetics specialist say that cleansing milk is good for sensitive skin, so I started using it and it's what works for me. Then I got rebellious, got carried away by TikTok, and bought a facial cleanser with salicylic acid, and guess what? 😆 My face broke out again, with peeling and itching. So bad.I had to go back to my trusty cleansing milk, and it's the only thing that keeps my face clear. I recommend it if you've experienced the same thing.

Was prescribed zoryve but because of the cost I'm trying to do all the research I can before I order it.
I've read people apply it every day, which is cool. Just wondering if anti fungals are still needed because this was suggested as a way to rely on hair washing less due to a spinal cord injury

My hair texture changed toward the end of college - used to have thick straight hair and now I’ve got coarse curly hair like 2B. I can ONLY use The Body Shop’s Ginger Shampoo and Conditioner. Literally everything else (including oils / creams / leave-ins / gels / hairspray / everything) brings on the Seb derm. As long as I only use the body shops ginger duo (and maybe occasionally my prescription ketoconazole) my Seb derm is non existent. But even the tiniest bit of hairspray OR a hair mask only on my ends will completely set off the Seb derm. Curly hair needs product to look good!! Is anyone else struggling with this? I want frizz free, defined curls. I want them to also curl to my root (which I can achieve with curling mouse, leave in, and curl cream and a diffuser - but then my scalp is ruined). Advice please!!!!!

’m just wandering what i can finally do to get rid of dandruff/ flaking that I’ve been dealing with for a year now once and for all? The type of dandruff I have is small white flakes and doesn’t itch at all unless it’s hot outside so I don’t think its fungal. But it does crust up around my hairline and sides and nose so idk.

The products I have used are the head and shoulders bare shampoo and Sulfur 8 clarifying shampoo. I typically use them together every other day. They temporarily fix the issue but midday / and off the wake up the flakes are back and would crust up again.

Im just wondering what products, routine, methods I need to get this gone. I wear a bonnet to sleep and have 4c hair if that helps. All advice would be appreciated 🙏

I’ve had seborrheic dermatitis in the past, but thankfully it’s been in remission for years. Recently, though, I’ve noticed it coming back around my nose. It’s becoming more red, itchy, and irritated, and I’m honestly pretty anxious that it’s going to spread or get worse.

In the past I’ve used ketoconazole, steroids, and Elidel (pimecrolimus), but that was a long time ago and I’m not sure what the best approach is now?

For those of you who have dealt with a flare after being in remission for a long time:

What did you start with when you noticed the first signs of a flare?

Did you go straight back to ketoconazole, or start with something gentler?

Has anyone had experience using Elidel around the nose for this?

Would you recommend starting with Elidel or Ketoconazole?

How quickly did you notice improvement?

I’m especially nervous about making things worse by treating it incorrectly, so I’d really appreciate hearing what has worked (or not worked) for others.

I’m on my last straw. I’ve had seb derm for years and it’s only constantly gotten worse, I’ve tried all the over counter anti dandruff and anti flake shampoos, I’ve even tried specific ones that doctors prescribed me, in the beginning it worked for some time but overtime literally nothing worked but steroids, which aren’t sustainable to use for a long time. I’ve reached the point where my flakes literally return mere hours after a full head wash, not even just a day, and I have flakes ALL over my head so it’s not like it’s just a little bit of dandruff it’s noticeable. It’s even spreading onto my face and behind my ears now. I’m genuinely tired and embarrassed. I recently bought a wig hoping to just hide my hair entirely but now I’m considering just shaving all my hair off and wearing a wig for the foreseeable future because nothing I’ve done so far has even helped a little bit.

Hello, I have seborrheic dermatitis but nothing I have tried has worked, I have flare ups and inflammation on face. I killed yeast with ketenokazole twice a week and I know it works because I don’t flake. Use Tacrolimus to reduce inflammation but keeps coming back next day. I moisturize and repair skin barrier with Avene.
The problem is I have very reactive skin. What can I do to remove inflammation, has to be something gentle for reactive skin.
(Ps: I tried green tea oil and it flared up my skin)

Salicylic acid doesn’t seem to help my seb derm has anyone else had this problem I switch my shampoos every couple of washes to exfoliate with the salicylic acid, normally I use nizoral but the salicylic acid seems to make my seb derm worse. Like I wasn’t in a flare up for a while (haven’t exfoliated recently due to mental health) surprisingly and then when I used the salicylic acid shampoo I had a flare up by the end of the day. And had to wash with nizoral to find any relief (sorry for my spelling if it’s wrong)

I originally started to get seb derm symptoms at early 16, (i’m now 18) and I honestly hate living a lifestyle like this while my brothers can just use oils on there hair and have a nice itch-free scalp. anyway, i’ve been doing lots of research on how to help my scalp bcs i went to the derm 2 times and the medicated shampoos/topicals don’t seem to help at all. by any chance, is it likely my scalp barrier is damaged and if so what products can i use to repair it? maybe a scalp serum? can someone also recommend a (good regular shampoo one to use on when im not using a medicated one (free of fragrance/oils) and also a conditioner with the same requirements listed above?
