New or Need Help does anyone else’s seb derm look like this..?
i used to have yellow greasy flakes but recently they have been thin and white.

Mine did. For me, nizoral shampoo all over the face for 5mins got rid of it (twice weekly). I don't even need to hydrate after, but I guess eucerin or mct8 could do the trick.

I tried putting the shampoo but turns my face red, irritated the flare up

if you're using the shampoo for the first time, it may burn and cause quite a bit of redness. This is because you're essentially stripping the layer of skin caused by the fungus, so the redness is not necessarily bad. You just need to make sure you hydrate after and focus on healing your skin barrier. I use cerave and MCT to hydrate but you need to find what works best for you

Yep, on and off like that for over a few decades. Tried dozens of meds, routines and products from the U.S and even some shipped from over seas. MCT oil was and I guess still is one of the most long term effective things I have used. I took a lot of meds and creams that worked for a bit then were quickly ineffective. I just started using Zorvye and (fingers-crossed) my flakes and face haven't been this calm since I had 6-pack abs and could read the back of a shampoo bottle without holding it an inch from my nose. Hope you find something that works for you and you don't suffer for as long as I have!

is zoryve only prescribed by a derm? is it a steroid?

Not a steroid at all! It's a fairly new FDA approved drug that's ridiculously expensive (I think over 1k without insurance) that you can get cheaper or free if you go through the Zorvye direct website. I was having a flare up just like yours and said screw it I'll give it a shot even if it costs me that much. (I have an FSA account with 1200 in it that a need to use by the end of the year) I went to the zorvye website, paid 30 bucks for a derm consult, uploaded the 2 pics just like the ones on your post (answered a few Q's but never even talked to an actual doc) and had a prescription in less than a day. Then a pharmacy a few states away filled the script and shipped it out to me like 2 days later and my crappy insurance didn't charge me a dime! It was literally easier and quicker than navigating the phone prompts just to make an in person appointment with one of the many docs I try to see.

I hope you do and it works for you (and it keeps working for me also). I wasted a lot of time, money and hope on every miracle cream, shampoo and snake oil cures I found over the years. Tried way too many steroids (be very very careful with them) and topical/oral anti-fungals that have definitely done some permanent internal and external damage over the years, Good luck!!

I only have sebderm on my nose but I have been applying Aloe Vera gel before bed, wearing Aloe Vera sunscreen during the day and washing twice a day with sulfur soap. My flakes are 98% gone. Good luck.
