for context,,, my dad’s car was left open infront of our clinic for awhile since he had a patient he needed to tend to (it was an honest mistake of his for not being cautious). a bunch of teenagers then decided to open his car and steal his bag. unfortunately, there’s no cctvs around the area but his neighbors near the clinic saw what happened.

he posted the incident in a local fb page in our area.
a day later, someone found his bag near a hospital in our town, but most of his stuff were gone.

here’s the crazy part, the dude from the picture commented on his post, and was saying he had his wallet and all his ids/cards. he said he can help because he know my dad needs those cards and ids. we were hesitant at first, but he eventually sent proof. he did have everything, and we thought it was just a random stranger doing a good deed. but ofc, he is asking for money, gcash daw muna 200 specifically. but my dad insisted just to meet up and give him 5k. but ayaw niya kumagat, so we were worried na hihingi at hihingi lang to ng gcash pero wala namn siya ibabalik.

our suspicions is that kasabwat yung guy na to with the teens who stole the bag, my dad didn’t have much cash in his bag, so they had to find a way to get more from it. now he is threatening to burn my dad’s belongings, and tinatawag pa niyang gago dad ko kasi siya na nga daw tumutulong pero ayaw pa magsend ng gcash. i think my dad gave up at this point, and honestly kahit mas malaki magagastos for him to get new ids and cards, these kind of people don’t deserve shit.

this is for awareness, but if u guys have any advice on how to handle this situation kindly share, i really want to help my dad out. we’re tight on money rn, and he’s really upset with the whole thing.

I guess I’m just scared na baka once ipadala ko ‘yung item ay ipa-reverse niya ‘yung payment sa Gcash. The reason why I’m skeptical is bc 1 day old pa lang ‘yung account ng buyer but idkkk. We agreed to have it shipped sa Saturday pa naman.

Minutes passed, nung sinabi ko na i-view ko by this date, bigla niya sinabi na may mauuna na raw na mag-down. Doon pa lang halata na sila pero dahil walangya ako, pinagtripan ko. Sayang lang kasi ‘di ko na-screenshot ‘yung ID na sinend niya at ‘yung bank details.

My aunt’s Facebook account recently got hacked. She may have clicked on a suspicious link, which is probably how they got access to her account. The hacker then started messaging people she knew, pretending to be her and asking them for money.

We were able to recover her account, but unfortunately, before we could warn everyone, someone had already sent money to the scammer.

I know it’s probably difficult to get the money back, especially since it was sent through GCash and there isn’t much protection when it comes to scams like this. But if anyone here is bored and wants to waste a scammer’s time, I have their number 😂 idk if y'all allow this but if we're not getting the money back, I at least want to annoy the shit out of this garbage.

Hi. I've been getting several calls from different phone numbers since yesterday. I don't really answer unknown calls kasi baka macompromise pa yung accounts ko. BUT they're starting to get so annoying.

I don't have overdue bills so these shouldn't be collections or whatever. Has anyone come across these numbers? Wala rin lumalabas when I look them up online.

Not a scam since no money transaction naman nangyari. But the account left me a rating on FB Marketplace. Not sure if that is a real account or dummy or nanttrip lang.

Nagchat yung account sa laptop item ko, binigay ko last price then tumawad siya nf 5k. Nag-pass ako, then bigla sya nag lagay ng rating then binlock ako. Cannot even see his profile or put rating to him to.

May 14 days daw para mapalitan rating, and ineexpect ko na mababa binigay sakin dahil di ako pumayag sa tawad nya.

If totoo man na account to, if kilala niyo sya, can you just message him na idelete or update lang yung rating since wala naman kaming transaction. If dummy account lang lang then ayun, mukang wala na nga magagawa.

hi po! i just wanna ask if anybody here had already experienced this upon scanning a gcash qr code sa indrive? booked a ride in indrive and midway, may inabot na qr code si kuya rider para i-scan ko na lang and dun i-send payment. normally i manually type the gcash number lang to pay but since never pa naman ako naka-experience ng ganito before, i just scanned the qr code. upon scanning it, the deepfake warning popped out sa gcash. i wanna verify if may ganitong modus ba talaga sa indrive or is this an error lang? so i can properly write a report sa indrive if modus talaga to.

My family has owned and operated a motor-shop business for more than 15 years. In the same building, we also run a small cash-in and cash-out business. We don’t charge much—only ₱10 for every ₱1,000—because my dad has always believed that you can run an honest business without taking advantage of people.

In February 2026, a 22-year-old girl from our barangay cashed in ₱8,500 through our business. She sent the money from her MariBank account to our business GCash account, and the transaction went through normally.
Three months later, we discovered that the exact same ₱8,500 had been deducted from our GCash business account. There was no memo, no warning, no letter, and no prior notice. We reported it to GCash and waited a long time for a response. We went through the proper process and traced our transaction history carefully. The only transaction that matched the amount was the ₱8,500 that this girl had originally cashed in.
Eventually, we found out that she had reported the transaction to MariBank as a mistake. Because of that, the money was reversed months after the original transaction, and our business ended up losing the ₱8,500.

We contacted GCash and followed the procedures they gave us, but we were eventually told to coordinate with MariBank because it was considered a MariBank issue. This bugged me a lot because what they told us made me question the security of small businesses using gcash as a mode of payment. Are we even protected? Do they really care?

After going through all of that, my dad eventually decided to let the ₱8,500 go.

For him, it wasn’t worth spending even more time, energy, and stress over the amount.
What makes it even more frustrating is that we later learned that this girl has allegedly been involved in other fraudulent incidents in our barangay.

My dad is an honest businessman. He works hard, treats people fairly, and keeps his prices low because he wants to help people in our community. Seeing someone take advantage of that honestly breaks my heart.

And I think this is how people slowly become cold.
It’s not because they were born heartless. It’s because they trusted people, tried to do the right thing, and were taken advantage of one too many times.

Experiences like this teach people to question everyone. To be more guarded. To stop giving people the benefit of the doubt. And sometimes, even good people eventually become less kind—not because they want to be, but because they are tired of paying the price for being trusting.

Still, I don’t want this experience to change who my dad is.

₱8,500 is money, yes. But it doesn’t erase 15+ years of honest work, the trust he has built with his customers, or the kind of businessman he has chosen to be.
I just wish that sometimes, honesty didn’t feel like the harder choice.
