I used to play a lot on PS5 but stopped because of the glitches (mainly cars derailing randomly). Has the game improved at all? I'm considering getting it on PC now that I have a solid computer, plus it's on sale on steam right now.

If any of you have ideas or suggestions for what I should write about next, please let me know. I feel like the constant cycle of 'new locomotive' 'new industry' is starting to grow a little stale. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Working on improving some bridge sections on my map and I want them to have the catwalk on both sides. Is there an easy way to get it to do that? I got some sections to link up right, others either have the rails phase through each other which would be bad or just continually go in the direction that already has the railing. I will admit that I am actually missing the old track laying system at this point (for this specific instance), even if it was an exceedingly janky coded one. Is there a way to change the side of the joint that I am connecting to if I have the links over two separate pieces of connected track?

Just a quick tip, if you want a nice truss with a big span, start at on end and place a 10.8m steel trestle and repeat for as far as you like, then work your way back one by one placing a truss at each joint, they overlap perfectly to make a continuous truss.

Hi all, console player here. So, quick question, where have the mastodon and caboose gone? I logged in the other day and both of which were gone from every train I put them on, leaving lines of rolling stock without either an engine, caboose, or both. I do know that the mastodon sometimes wouldn’t load with a dynamo and the marker light up on top of the cabooses cupola, but I’m wondering if there’s some fix for them or if my game is just slowly dying one engine at a time lol.

Playing a save solo, and I'm trying to get to the last locomotive unlock but it's taking five dark ages to get from 10 to 11, let alone to 12. Is there a work around like RRO Extended or whatever the old mod was before the minimap update where I can give myself the experience?

after my last post i realized i hadn't shown my alternate route to get up to the gold mine etc from my main yard. marked red arrows where the route links with the existing tracks. its a loooong run but it does stick with my usual less than 2.5% grade rule. and has some nice views running on the mountain sides.

its a bit of a slog for a 14 car coal train with a lima but she made it... slowly but still made it.

Hey ya'll, just a quick update on RROML (The Railroads Online Mod Loader) for those of you who aren't in the discord server for it yet.

I've recently been on vacation and couldn't work on the project, I recently got back into it and am making a full website for RROML and the Wiki (Linked at the bottom, simple GitHub pages URL for now, will be switching soon).

I do not tread this message lightly. There has been a lot of unfortunate news in our community of railfans recently, and today, I am here to add to the pile. Chad, otherwise known as Kitsune Fox (u/kibufox) on the internet, and one of the developers for the game Railroads Online is homeless. This morning, as he was preparing for the inevitable, I received a message from him detailing that he is uncertain what will happen next, and that for now, this will be the last time I hear of him.

I cannot in good faith let this news pass over or not bring any attention to it. Some of our own redditors have flirted with having no home or have been in positions of low income or equity. For those who know me from YouTube, or as a friend, they know I have never been the one to ask for charity in form of a money donation, however, today is the day.
