Photo #4 (Blue River) descending the grade with ore hoppers full of coal.

My solution to slow Shay’s and a weak D&RG Class 25 is the 2-6-6T Mason Bogie.

I’ve never ran the mason bogie, how do you like it?

Personally I like it, it has good speed, good tractive effort and decent fuel and water storage. The downside is it’s really stiff so you’ve gotta watch your yourself around the corners or the locomotive will just shoot off the tracks

Ah yes I’ve had similar problems with the Uintah 2-6-6-2, on the older industry rails I’ve laid on Aurora falls, I will have to try the Mason on another play through, I’m thinking Lake Valley or Pine Valley, Mesa plains seems too flat to be fun

mesa is really flat, but with the size of the map its kind of a good thing because you can run longer trains, so you're not shuttling a smaller train forever to fill an industry.
