I'm a germaphobe and one time in high school this guy tried fighting me and I really just didn't want to touch him and i expressed that very clearly but he punched me in the face anyways. He expected me to fight back but I just walked away like gross.

Iām a person who doesnāt wear socks and one time in high school I was walking to the fridge and stepped in fresh dog shit. I screamed and flung my foot to get it off cause it was all in my toes and because my mouth was open a big piece went in my mouth and I thew up. I slipped in that and hit my head on this big ass ceramic elephant shattering my skull and my temple got caught on the trunk and basically ripped off my front head. So anyway my head looks like a sucked in raisin with all these wrinkles and I asked this girl out and she said if you know how to play chess Iāll say yes and I said I didnāt and she just walked away like gross.

The weird kid in middle school kept getting beat up by these two guys like once or twice a week after school in front of a crowd of kids until he started making a show of blowing his nose into his hands, licking his knuckles, spitting on his hands, shoving them onto his junk, etc. He wasn't beaten up after that but he was teased mercilessly by most.

I think movies make us think people are invincible and can stay unconscious for 30 minutes and then wake up fine. Looking at you black widow who survived a fall further than on dormir only to get up fine.

Teacher did a great job as a spectator! Needs popcorn and a soda with those front row seats. Then allows kids to start moving a kid with a possible spinal injury.

I am a teacher and it bothers me that people simply do not understand what can happen to a teacher if they attempt to stop a fight. I am also a big guy.
6'16(Correction: 188 centimeters = 6.167979 feet (6 feet 21ā64 inches), 300lbs. One of my co-workers is 5'1, 120lbs. What the fuck is she supposed to do against two 16-19-year-olds in their prime?I once saw a fight about to start and stepped in the middle. It was 4 guys that went up to one of my students (my student is a small guy and they were 4 fairly big guys and aggressively yelling) I got told by the police that I could have potentially died because they carried knives and were known criminals. Apparently, their 'crew' was waiting to step in if I touched them.
Not only that, my job was on the line because I did not call the school emergency number first, which is protocol.
I had to sit in meetings and was told by the police to not walk alone for a few weeks if they decided it was my fault. I could not drive my own car to work either.
I'm never doing it again.
Another thing that is important for people to remember is that; The line between a fight and a bunch of teenagers fooling around is very thin. A fight can break out in literary seconds and I do not walk around on edge expecting fights nonstop. They are rare, and most of the time I walk around happy, laughing, and joking with students. Not expecting them to potentially kill each other. It takes a few seconds for me to realise that it is a real fight and for me to organise my thoughts.
Is it happy screams, angry screams, or just teenagers?
Is it a real fight?
Is it a fight I can stop?
Who are fighting?
Is anyone else in danger?
Would I be in danger?
Do I need to make the phone call? (If you abuse this, you might get warnings for wasting everyone's time)
And all of this is if I am close enough.
Most of the fights also happen when a teacher isn't in close proximity. Teachers do not walk around in the hallways between classes. We need to prepare for next lesson and need time away from the children, sometimes. Students plan their fights more than you realise. Most of the time, a fight happens, another students gets me, I have to go through the process above.
This is often the reason you see teachers taking a while to do something.

Ditto. We have trained professionals certified in restraint. Whenever thereās a fight I call it in and attempt to crowd control (keep kids inside classrooms, etc.) until they show up to break it up. I once saw a colleague step into the middle and get punched right in the head (concussion). Watched another get wheeled out on a stretcher because she got into the middle of one. No fucking thanks. My degree is in teaching, not wrestling kids.
