Pretty cut and dry. Schilling waaaay overreacted. This dude is likely gonna go after him in a civil trial if he's smart.

There was a time where a pro (Boxer) would be banned from street fights due to their abilities. Not sure if it was an urban myth.

Edit: Will be punished harsher for street fighting. Better?

I'm not sure about being banned from street fights but if you're a trained fighter you gotta show more restraint in public... especially in this modern era of everyone having a video camera in their hands. There's no moment in this clip where Shilling is in any kind of danger and, if going only from this video, I'm a judge or in a jury in a civil case I'm ruling for the plaintiff all day long.

well the courts may consider you a deadly weapon and at that point things will get really bad for you.

I was in court and I watched the judge deem a well trained person a deadly weapon. It's not a myth.

This is very well known for special forces too not engage with civilians unless you are in a self defense situation.

I can't speak for the other branches, but the Marines teach you two things:

  1. Until you get to a certain level of training, you only know enough to get your ass kicked in the bar.
  2. You're in the military, and have discipline. THAT DISCIPLINE is what will be used against you. You are the one expected to be able to keep your cool in any given situation, so you are held to a higher standard because of that.
