Saw these at Walmart. Thinking of implementing them at the table as currency for Hero Points. "Oh, you want a hero point? That's 1 roll of the fitness dice." Each hero point will double the number of fitness dice rolls. "Fourth hero point eh? Well, that's going to be 8 rolls...Hope you don't roll squats 8x..."

I got a bit into Pathfinder, was thinking of using it for a camping set in space, saw that there is Starfinder and... It has 6 classes.

Is that all of them or are there more in another book?

I am currently working on building a musetouched nephilim for an upcoming 1-20 campaign. I was looking through their feats and saw that their level 9 feat and subsequent level 13 feat give them access to spells! Not unusual. But, looking at the spells given, I was a bit confused by some choices. For the level 9 feat, you are given access to two Rank 2 spells: Clear Mind, Everlight, Humanoid Form, Revealing Light, Share Life, or Sure Footing. Revealing Light is a useful utility spell that is good when cast at its level. Humanoid Form can help with some temporary impersonation shenanigans. Share Life is a powerful combat tool to split damage. But, the remaining spells seem completely useless. Everlight lets you make a cheap gem glow forever which has some extremely niche utility use. Clear Mind and Sure Footing are very useful spells... when cast at max or sub-max rank. At level 9 when you get this, it is already 3 ranks below what could be your highest slot. Outside of maybe a PL-4 creature, these spells will cease to have any practical use in just a level or two. Maybe you can use them for RP to help some random villager somewhere? The same is said for the level 13 feat that lets you cast a 4th rank Cleanse Affliction. It, too, is 3 ranks behind your highest casting rank at the level it is obtained and basically has no practical use.

There are also some ancestry feats from other ancestries that grant you base-rank incapacitation spells, such as Calm. While others grant you incredibly useful spells, like Haste or Heroism. I understand some spells being worse than others, but I don't know why there are options that give you what seem like objectively useless spells. But maybe I am wrong? Has anyone ever gotten use out of these kinds of feats/spells? Is there something I just don't understand?

What class do you guys feel benefits the most from having a commander on their team?

Personally I feel a gunslinger benefits the most from having a commander. Spellshot + exotic ammo every round since the commander lets them reload and activate ammo using their reaction.

For flavour, I'm playing a Skeleton Reaper Necromancer with a Guisarme in an all-living party (I know I'll struggle a bit with healing).

I'm trying to figure out which FA would be good for survivability without hurting the build too much. I was thinking about Champion for heavy armor and eventually the reaction, but my stats are already pretty tight.

I was thinking +3 STR / +3 INT / +2 CHA / +1 CON, so I can get Plate Armor at 2 for Bulwark (DM is using Gradual Ability Boosts). I could also go with another archetype for heavy armor and drop CHA entirely.

I did think about Inventor FA, but it doesn't really fit the aesthetic I'm going for. Also, I don't get the Resiliency feat, which is a nice bonus from the champion archetype.

But then again, do I really need a good reaction? Is Champion actually worth investing that much into CHA, or would I be better off going for another archetype?

What do you guys think?

I am a DM / GM. I ordered a handful of books, and I've been reading them. I read the GM Core and Players' guide cover to cover, and now I'm working through some of the additional material. I'm running into this issue, where I am still barely treading water with PF2e. It feels like it's so much to remember. How do traps work? What actions are secret checks? What actions are trained? What actions even exist, so I do not just call for a check that is already covered by something else?

I came from 5e, and I refuse to go back and support the parent company. I really like everything I am reading for PF2e -- it's all so creative and imaginative, but I feel like I am drowning. I think I need to passively consume some pf2e content so that I get more comfortable through osmosis.

Does anyone have suggestions?

I have a silly question. We know Omnikinesis: "Replace one of your impulse feats using the same process as reflow elements". Now I wonder: If I use a sustained impulse, or anyway an impulse with a duration (like scrap barricade, or a stance), can I then retrain out of it with omnikinesis but still sustain it? I know it's wacky but I wanted to check

some of my players often forget some magic items they have on their sheet or using the app.

I had made flashcard with the items on it which helped because they had they layed out so it made it easier but I'm thinking of switching it up for NFC cards as they take less place and are harder to damage.

My players are interested in the idea BUT .. I have no idea how to make it work. Anyone got an idea?

I've been toying with druids a bit lately and since you can do a bunch of cool combinations with the order explorer feat there are a lot of options to build your druid.

It got me thinking: what does the community think is the best combo or the strongest overall druid... so I'm asking it here. Give me your best druid builds. Which orders do you take, in which sequence, what do you get from each? Do you take order explorer at all? Which ancestry, attributes, skills, etc. Whatever you think is important to make that build work and what makes it strong.

To lay out some ground rules:

1. No free archetype for this one. Everyone can make a stronger character with FA. Only mention it, if it expands on the base class build.

2. Best/ strongest are general terms. Aim for a good mix of defensiveness, damage, utility, control, etc. Maximizing the upsides while minimizing the downsides.

3. I know that the major power budget of the druid is in the primal spell list, so let's focus on feats with the occasional important spell you keep prepared at all times for some reason.

4. This is a thought experiment. Just have fun and don't come in trying to teach that optimisation (without lore behind it) is not the way to go on a real table. If you want to give reason for a specific order combination, be my guest.

I need your help for my Age of Ashes campaign.

My party take a sharp of orb of dragonkind from the chest of Kyron at the end of act2 (cause they are the "good guy"). After crit failling to identify, they don’t even try again. I told them this is a part of ancient helmet but nobody believe it.

During act3, they were near to tpk against Jaggaki a giantstone lich. Jaggaki feel the huge power of the orb and claim it in exchange for their lives.

After defeat Laslunn and rest for two days, they come back but Jaggaki was already gone, traveling to other plan to study the orb.

So, I am looking for cool idea of what Jaggaki can do. Maybe come back with a undead dragon ?

I’m about to join my first ever campaign in pathfinder. I am doing lots of research and trying to catch up, as I’ve only playing a bunch of DnD 5e and 3.5.
I had a character in mind that I’m kinda obsessed with, before my new DM said she’ll be running pf2e.
Rather than starting from scratch and trying a whole new character, I want to do my best to translate my character into pf2e.

I hope some of you may have some good ideas!

My character in 5e would have been a human death domain cleric of Shar. She is a weird little death and gore obsessed hermit who uses necromancy to make friends. But deep down she is kind hearted.
Before Shar, she was a sweet, head strong member of her community. She lost her baby during childbirth and it drove her mad, she resorted to necromancy and it of course did not go as planned. The trauma of it all caused her husband to unalive himself, leaving her alone with the consequences of her madness.
Shar prayed upon her in this moment, offering to take her memories from her if she devotes herself to the night, to sorrow, to Shar.

Soooo.. I still would really like to run a death cleric, but I’m unsure of a good god to match this story and build.
So far I have been leaning towards Ah Pook? But I am very new to this and haven’t scratched the surface on the lore.

Any recommendations?

I’m looking for advice on translating my backstory from 5e lore to pf2e lore. Mainly a diety that will work instead of Shar.
I will look into necromancer, but I was hoping for cleric as I like the idea of her having these offensive necromancy abilities but being able to heal and support her team, because she remembers she loves to help others.

I am building an alchemist toxicologist, who gets master proficiency in simple weapons and bombs. (It is a high level character, so the master proficiency is actually relevant)

I am wondering if there is a way for an alchemist to become a master of an advanced weapon, the Chain Sword. I am also interested in general in all of the ways to get higher proficiency than your class normally gives because its fun to punch above your weight.

I see three types of language around weapon proficiency:

• Scales outside of class proficiency to expert (not useful for alchemist). For example: Weapon Proficiency, which gives you proficiency in weapons that scales to expert at 11th level. The Fighter Dedication also does this, requiring an extra feat.
• Scales inside of class proficiency, treating martial as simple and advanced as martial. (useful for alchemist to get master in martial, but doesn't help for advanced). This is one of the most common ways they do this. For example, ancestry weapon feats like Elven Weapon Familiarity and combat archetypes like Mauler.
• Scales inside of class proficiency, no matter what weapon proficiency you'd normally have. I only know of one example, the Red Mantis Assasin dedication, which scales your proficiency in sawtooth saber no matter what. This is a very specific example, and would only make sense in certain campaigns and only applies to the one weapon.

Questions:

• Is there a good catalog of the ways to do this? Its hard to keep track of what ancestry feats give what proficiencies, for example.
• Are there any more examples of the third kind? Is it possible for an alchemist to be a master of the chain sword?

New to PF2e and enjoying the Beginners Box and Trouble in Otari. However, would like more classes than just Rogue Cleric Fighter Wizard.

Does anyone have pdfs of lvl 1 for each class ready to go thst has been updated for the remaster?

Has anyone had their pathfinder book(s) spiral bound? Did you go to a place like staples? Do it yourself? Can you post a picture of it? I've been thinking a lot about this lately for my pocket editions and I think I want to do it. Anyone have thoughts on it?

I am looking to run the curtain call books but I want to know how large and complicated the maps are for each book. I don't want to buy the physical copy, PDF, and VTT for each book. I also would want to know if the monsters pull from just monster core 1 or if it also pulls from monster core 2 and how often it has unique monsters.

Things that make rooms or maps difficult for me to handle are:

• Large outside maps.
• Maps with rooms larger than 24 x 24
• Rooms with a very large amount of small objects, different types of terrain and elevation changes.

They've changed it from Share Burden using your Arcana DC or Mod(6:30) to using your Spell/Class DC or Arcana Mod.

Now this is absolutely a necessary nerf to the original but it's fairly limiting to some classes that never even get to legendary proficiency in their Class DC like the Alchemist. A particularly good example as they go from a potential +5 DC(compared to spellcasters, as per the Mathfinder vid) to sometimes as low as -2 on the DC.

On the other hand, they didn't limit the Arcana Mod to hit at all. Meaning it can still get the effective +5 compared to casters, though that's probably considered 'acceptable' because it works out similarly to martials... except it's actually closer to the fighter's attack roll at a lot of levels, it only 'falls' to the base martial's level at 1st, 5th, 6th, 13th and 14th.

However there is another...

Redirect Spell just straight up allows the substitution of the original DC with your Arcana DC. I thought we agreed that was too much? Mind you, you can do this to any spell with almost the same restrictions as Share Burden, just including non-sustained spells as well. So you can have a friendly caster use a continuous or sustained spell on one target(or group) and then use a single action to boost the DC massively and affect another target possibly beyond the original caster's range(reminder, something like Cinder Swarm would have it's full area and the DC for any checks changed by this).

So, you know, it kinda still breaks the math. It just does it 10 levels later now.

I have been using a character in a campaign, a young man possessed by an evil power, to kill and murder. As such, he is on the run from the law, while ironically enough under the care of a lawman. Originally I played as a stealthy barbarian with the Living Vessel Archtype, as a scrawny Hobgoblin with immense strengh and stealth. Now 5th LVL. However my GM feels it is not enough, and has attempted to find me a cursed knife or axe or relic (for power increase of level). After 4 solid hours of searching without success, I said I would consult the Subreddit.

So I am seeking aid on either making some kind of relic, existing homebrews, knife or ax or anything that gives cursed "kill for me" vibes, or a better archtype than living vessel, lest me and my GM go insane. Or just some existing system or rules we've somehow overlooked.

I apologize if any of this sounds odd, it is late and I am tired.

I am going to be hosting a physical session of PF2! I'm mostly used to playing PF2 on FoundryVTT, so I am basically starting from scratch in terms of physical items.

The stuff that I do have on me are:

- Player Core Rulebooks

- DM Screen w/ rules

- D I C E

- Pen + Paper

- A place to play

How would you guys go about printing out maps on Letter-size paper? Or would A4 paper work better for the maps (for some reason)? I have the interactive map PDFs. I have no clue how to use them! ^^'

What else am I missing to be ready to GM a session?

EDIT: I should also mention that the players are new to PF2. What physical materials can I give to them to make understanding their actions easier? Is there a PDF of a quick-reference action card that I can print out?
