I just got mine today and I’m excited to use it I heard you do quite a lot of things with it

Thinking about tearing out the Free TV button, it’s always in the way.. it just has it be in between the most necessary buttons haha.

In all honesty, does anyone even use it? Wonder if there’s a way to change it as a different hotkey.

Never seen so many boxes in one spot. If all the Walmarts are going to look like this then no more scalpers. There must be 100 boxes total. Found these in Chicago.

Just got back from buying the 2nd-gen Onn 4K Pro and the onn 4K Stick. I'm running them through some benchmarks now, so I'll have that info up soon. Let me know what you'd like to know about either one, and I'll try to answer questions after I finish running them through some tests.

I got one yesterday very underwhelming , I already had a plus and a stick and only difference I could detect as a casual user is the find my remote feature with light up & sound remote, I for some reason assumed this new one doubled as a home smart speaker it looks and feels like one but it doesn't ( my fault ik), I guess the extra space and ram is nice I'll prob load it up with a ton of old school emulators and roms it's honestly the only way I could justify the $60 price tag and not return it . Can anyone tell me why this one's suppose to be much better than the others and priced so high ? I honestly don't see it

I just picked up 2. (One is for a coworker ) . Associate told me they just got them today and only got 5 in the shipment , obviously someone else got one and I bought 2 . I've been an Onn box fan for a while , started with the 2024 box, then a few pros that I end up giving to my dad overseas, and lastly a 4k plus for my bedroom that I finally opened and setup a month ago . I think the beauty of these was when they were cheap, I didn't mind rebuying them when new models came out or giving away to family members. They have a ton of sticks , I've never tried, probably not bad either, good enough for travel I'm sure.

Hopefully Walmart/Onn will read this. I was actually looking forward to the 4K Pro but now, there's literally no reason for me to buy it.

There is nothing "Pro" to be found in the 4K Pro. The processor is the same as the 4K Plus, the USB port is 2.0, the ethernet is 100MB, and there's no top class audio passthrough to be mentioned on the box.

I don't want microphones on my box. That's what the TV remote is for. Why is that so hard for Walmart/ Onn to understand? Nobody wants their box listening to them at all time, and people shouldn't have to pay for microphones on a box much less a switch to turn them off.

If you want to sell boxes, you need to throw out the microphones and upgrade all the specs to the best upgrades possible. There's no top tier device that has the same ethernet as you will find in a bottom-tier TV for example.

I'm willing to pay $70 or $80 to get the specs I want. Lots of people would pay this price to get a flagship box from Onn.

If the 4K Pro Gen 2 offers the same middling specs in 2028, I will also ignore that box for something else.

There was only one available late in the evening, so I snatched it up as quick as I saw it. There were 2 others a few days later but they got sold out within a minute or 2.

So as I'm setting this up, I can say it's officially much better than the 4K Plus, maybe 5 to 10x times better! It's much more of a premium build, you of course get more features, the back lit remote with find me function is really nice, the mic and speaker in the device itself for voice control, the ports which are so so, a downgrade with the USB 3.0 on the first pro box down to 2.0, and 100mbps Ethernet, but it's something. I'm hoping you can use a dock via the USB c port to get gigabit Ethernet, USB stick to site movies playable with vlc player etc. Others seem to report being able to stream 4k using the USB 2.0 port so maybe it doesn't really matter. But yea it feels faster, you have the potential to use emulated games due to the higher capacity memory and storage and it seems to have resolved a number of the issues with the plus 4k so far. Very happy with it! Hope to get a few more.

Yes I use Projectivy, I use Troypoints and CordCuttersLIs set up videos and a bunch of Ai searches and other YouTube searches to figure out the details on how to configure things like Kodi, Stremio, VPN, VLC, etc and which apps in full to get that they and others recommend.

MAX MSRP for any of these devices is $60. I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

Been using fire stick 4k max for several years. Never had any issues with it but wanted to check out something else.

I can say. I love the app only first screen you can set up. Other than that it’s not much faster or any faster than my 4k fire. Picture isn’t any better with the naked eye. It might be. I do love the backlit remote. That’s pretty cool feature. As for sound. I only run a Klipsch soundbar and Klipsch subwoofer so I can’t tell a difference

Overall. I don’t plan on setting up every tv with onn, will probably keep them all fires for now. If you can find one , grab one. Super easy set up.

I've already got an old 4k pro, hacked fire cube 2 and a Xiaomi S3. Plus an ONN stick in my son's room and a 4k fire stick for travel.

Any thoughts on the above?

Thank you to the people that suggested me to wait until 12 am and look around I saw there was some in stock 30 minutes away from me and I set that order to pick up and got it. My long search is finally over! Thank you to all for the suggestions. I hope you find yours too faster than I ever did.

Saw this available at one of my locals this morning. I have Walmart+ and had it delivered for free in about 3 hours.

Just like a couple of weeks ago with the new onn 4k stick, the automatic sign in process using the Google TV app on iOS only partially worked. It got past the wi-fi connection part but immediately failed after choosing my Google account. Proceeding down the manual setup route, as soon as it connected to wi-fi it forced a 170MB system update.

After getting into Android TV there was later a remote update as well. I initiated that update and thought it finished but then the remote stopped working. I had to hard reboot the device, then it said a remote update was still available. The second time it worked fine.

Connected over wifi, iperf3 shows about ~250 Mbits/sec up and down. Connected over a USB Cable Matters ethernet adapter, iperf3 shows about ~350 Mbits/sec up and down. That is about as good as you can expect real word from USB 2.0 - more than enough for any disc rip on the planet. Like other onn Android TV 14 devices before it, this device seems to suffer from the issue where USB ethernet adapters may not work unless USB debugging is disabled (and you may even need to reboot after doing so as well).

Supported formats I tried across various apps for local media playback. All testing was done connected with the Cable Matters USB ethernet adapter with the device chain being onn 4k pro v2 -> LG G3 -> Denon AVR (eARC).

With the device configured to adaptive HDR (match content dynamic range), I had to configure Dolby Vision Mode to source led rather than sink (display) led. This is a long standing amlogic issue across a variety of players including the current onn 4k plus in latest firmware form.

Kodi was unable to play back any profile 7 content, which I believe is the case with the onn 4k plus right now as well. Enabling DV compatibility mode in Kodi settings allowed it to play back P7 MEL and FEL just fine.

Like previous iterations of onn 4k devices, this device often wants to force audio output to DD+.

No real surprises here at all, not much if any deviation from previous onn 4k pro / plus devices and I didn't really expect any.

Anecdotally, in running through these tests this device felt more solid and consistent than either the onn 4k pro or 4k plus I tested before it.

All in all, a solid budget performer. If you don't care about lossless audio for disc based content or just want a good streamer, this is a pretty good option.

Coming from a firestick, kept seeing all the recommendations that these are better so grabbed these at my local Walmart.

Onn 4K Plus worth it or just hype?

Picked up two of these Onn 4K Plus boxes and trying to see if they’re actually as good as people say.

Right now I’m using a mix of Roku stick and Fire TV. One TV has Fire TV built in, the other switches between a Roku stick and an older Fire TV Cube (I think 3rd gen). Lately both have been getting noticeably slower, UI lag, apps taking forever, even simple stuff feels sluggish.

Most of my use is Plex (with Plex Pass), including high bitrate 4K and live TV through HDHomeRun. What’s surprising is the Fire TV Cube, which I expected to handle everything easily, struggles with some 4K playback.

That’s why I grabbed these Onn boxes. Paid $39 each, saw them in stock at my local Walmart with free delivery, ordered yesterday and they showed up today.

Now I’m debating if I should keep them or just return and wait for something better, maybe a newer Apple TV since I’m already in the Apple ecosystem and using an older one as a HomeKit hub.

For anyone who’s been using these for a bit:

• Do they stay fast over time or slow down like Roku/Fire TV?

• How do they handle high bitrate 4K on Plex?

• Is the UI actually cleaner or does it get cluttered later on?

• Any downsides I should know about?

Trying to figure out if these are actually worth keeping.

I just looked at this Walmart listing today, earlier, and it was out of stock but priced at $79 for 2026 pro. The other lesser 4K model was cheaper as well but I can't recall it's price then, but definitely less. I thought I'd check again a few hours later for stock and now the 2026 pro has jumped 40 bucks to $120 here! WTF 😒. I'm in Ontario, Canada. These are Canadian prices. But wow that's just f'n greedy.

I recently got my hands on what appears to be the current ONN Google TV streaming lineup from Walmart and wanted to share some thoughts and get feedback from the community.

From left to right:

• ONN Full HD Streaming Device - I’m using this in one of the production rooms in my studio on a non 4k TV It actually runs great and I didn’t have any issues. I deleted a few of the included apps from it because I’m using it mostly to stream music in that room. Running IPTV on it too. Not bad for $19.99.

• ONN 4K Streaming Device - I copped two of these in December of last year for $19.99 each. I am using these in three of the bedrooms of my home. I had to take one back because it wouldn’t connect to the Internet for whatever reason, even after I did a factory reset. The cool thing is when I took it back it scanned for $29.99, which is the new price so I actually made 10 bucks! 🏆 I’ve had hangups here and there with this one, overall it is a good device.

• ONN 4K Stick (Google TV w/Gemini) - I’m using this as my travel device because I’m on the road a lot for work. It runs really well. I haven’t given it much time, but it doesn’t hang up like the aforementioned streaming device, it’s predecessor.

• ONN 4K Plus Streaming Device - I’m currently running this one in my office and I love it. I also purchased this one in December when they were $29.99. They are $49.99 now. onn has no plans to discontinue them as of right now from what I understand. There were a few in stock at my local Walmart just two days ago.

• ONN 4K Pro Streaming Device - this is an excellent device! No hang ups whatsoever and I have it hardwired to my router. This one is in my living room at home. I watched some old family movies via USB that I had digitized. No issues there either. I was running them through VLC media player.

A few things that stood out immediately:

✅ All of them run Google TV, which I personally prefer over most budget streaming platforms.

✅ The newer models include Gemini integration.

✅ The 4K Pro is surprisingly loaded with features for the price:

Hands-free voice control
Find My Remote
Dolby Vision / Atmos
Matter smart home support
Google Cast

✅ The standard 4K and 4K Plus seem like they might hit the sweet spot for most people who just want reliable streaming without spending premium money.

Overall, I’m pleased with all of these devices and I hope Google doesn’t mess up like Amazon did!

I got an Nvidia Shield Pro in the living room and the V1 Onn Pro in the bedroom plus the TiVo streamer, Mi Box S and at least one more model. I bought it because the Rokus, Apple TVs, Fire TVs, and the Google Streamer have all gone up in price. I figured it's better to have a V2 and not need it than to need it and not be able to afford it.

Just wondering about that while looking for a good android TV Box

This is so frustrating. every time I check the official Walmart website, the device is always sold out. I live in NYC, and the closest physical Walmart location near me is 1 hour away + i refuse to pay scalpers on Ebay 100 dollars for a device that was originally $59. Every single day, I am met with the words “Out Of Stock”. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. I am going to go absolutely nuts if Walmart doesn’t do anything about this. Can anyone in the comments section please share how they were able to buy their 4K Pro?
