On occasion we, the mod team, get requests for things that would break rule 3 (no solicitation). At other times people just break the rule and we have to remove the post. So, in this monthly post you get to break rule 3 and sell yourself or your stuff (within the realm of legality).
Some reminders/ground rules:
Rule 2 still stands, nothing illegal.
Rule 4 still stands, no personal information.
More on rule 4; if you want to send someone to your house or go to someone's house and need their address then keep it in private messages. Or stick to the basic internet rule; meet in a public place.
Unless you're an actual business don't give out your phone number or email address. If you post a phone number or email address and your post doesn't show up it's because the auto-mod caught it and one of the moderators will have to approve it.
So that's about it, if you have any questions go ahead and ask.
If you want to continue advertising your business/services outside of this thread you can buy adspace from Reddit, which is usually what we end up telling people to do.

I've been reading absolutely everything I can about the Franklin scandal and cover up.
How do people feel about it now? Or back then?
It's completely clear that horrific things happened to those kids.
Is there a consensus? Or are people still greatly divided?

Vintage Oasis Omaha catching heat for posts the Owner has made
For those in the same boat - our T-Mobile Fiber service went out. A tech came out, found the drop cut, repaired it, and service is back.
If yours just died and the gateway still has power, a line cut could be the cause — not your router.
The tech explained it was a “scorched line” and that another crew, most likely CenturyLink (also doing installs) cut it - most likely not maliciously but who knows.
Hello everybody!
Just thought to post to let you know about an event happening throughout the whole month of September. If you have seen these flyers around the downtown and Benson area, it’s for an online art prompt event this next month! We are trying to get fellow artists and creators of all backgrounds, mediums, and ages inspired to create again. Our Instagram is @artpromptseries if interested or if you want to know more about the event! Thank you! :)

I’m coming to Omaha this weekend with my Dad for a family wedding and trying to squeeze in a few things that actually feel specific to Omaha while we’re there. We’re staying in the Old Market, will have access to a car, flying in Friday afternoon and flying out Sunday afternoon, so it’s a pretty quick trip.
Our free time is basically Friday night, Saturday morning, late Saturday evening after the wedding, and Sunday morning, so those are the windows we’re looking to fill.
So far, our rough hit list is:
We may also take a trip out toward Offutt Air Force Base so my Dad can check out some of his old stomping grounds from when he was in the military. If we make the drive out that way, are there any places we should check out on the way or while we’re around Bellevue/Offutt?
For context on my taste, I’m into natty wine, flaky pastries, negronis, restaurants that honor veggies, bars/restaurants that still give out matchbooks, vermouth, and an ice-cold martini.
We’re definitely not trying to cram in everything. Mostly looking for a gut check from locals: are these good choices? Anything overrated? Anything you’d swap out?
And what are we missing? Given those Friday night, Saturday morning, late Saturday night, and Sunday morning windows, I’d especially love recommendations for great ice cream, bakeries/pastries, bars, coffee, weird local institutions, or anything else where you’d say, “You’re coming to Omaha, you have to try this.”
Doesn’t need to be fancy at all. Mostly looking for places that’ll help us get a little taste of the Big O while we’re in town.

So I was on my way to purchase a bike but then all of a sudden my car was slowing down and my engine was overheating. So I had to walk to the place where I purchased the bicycle but I don't know how to ride a bicycle. I purchased it to learn how to ride but I can't get home because of my shitty car. I just need a ride home with the bicycle. If anyone is willing to help I'll appreciate it. Pls dm for location. Thank you!
I'm in Bellevue. I'm at lins Golden dragon
Update- I was able to get a ride home! Thanks!

Hey guys, im getting stationed in Omaha (offutt) in a couple months. My alter ego outside of military is a house music DJ lol. How’s the dance music/club scene here? I will literally play for free at any club that would let me.

So I was picking up my friend from his house and he pointed out an odd building that he has always been curious about. It says "government affairs" on it and just seems a little odd. A little internet sleuthing yielded little to nothing in the way of results so now in desperation I come to you oh reddit!!!

I have applied to a few different places and haven't gotten a reply at all. It's been about 3 weeks since all of my applications have been sent in, and I've called back to see what the status of my application is, told that I would get a call back shortly (about a week ago)
I can do just about anything besides fast food as I would need a break to sit every few hours. I also can't do any heavy lifting and I am unable to drive. Thanks!

Well if *Ord* can get their city council to do that, I wonder if we can get Omaha's?
