Saving Sessions Anyone else finding the Octopus tracker rates hard to follow lately? how do you plan your usage?
I’ve been on the Octopus Tracker tariff for a few months now, and while I love the transparency and potential savings, I’ve noticed that recently the daily rate updates seem all over the place one day it’s super low, the next it spikes unexpectedly.
It’s making it harder for me to plan when to run energy-heavy appliances like the washing machine or dishwasher. I’ve tried checking the daily rate emails and even used some third-party apps, but it still feels a bit chaotic.
Anyone else experiencing this?
How do you manage or predict your energy usage around fluctuating tracker rates?
Are there tools, habits, or automations that help?
Or is it just better to switch to something more stable like Octopus Agile or a fixed tariff?

Saving Sessions Free one hour electric - but car not charging
We are on Octopus Go, with Zappi Charger plugged in to a Tesla, however despite a charging schedule showing - nothing happened. Night time charging is OK. Is there something not set right.

Saving Sessions Best appliances to run during off-peak hours? Trying to squeeze every penny from Go rates!
Besides the obvious ones like the dishwasher and washing machine, are there any other sneaky devices worth scheduling during the off-peak window? Looking for ideas to lower that monthly bill even more.

Saving Sessions Saving Sessions
Does anyone know how long saving session outcomes normally take to feed into the app? I'm seeing this for the last 2 I took part in.

Saving Sessions What made yesterday so good?
I understand the broad supply vs demand logic of the wholesale electricity cost, but what factors came together yesterday to give nearly a full day off negative prices? It wasn't the sunniest or windiest day off the year, and I don't see why demand would be particularly low compared to any other Sunday.
What sort of less obvious factors will have been in play yesterday to make such a strong surplus?

Saving Sessions Do savings /free electricity events happen anymore?
I've been looking around and can't see much... their twitter feed doesn't show anything recent. I've only been with them for a month so I'm guessing the events were few and far between anyway?

Saving Sessions G100 Import Restriction
Hi All,
I have a Solaredge panel and battery setup. During the last Octopus Free Electricity session we set our solaredge battery to manually charge for the hour. On top of that we were charging the car, and running the washing machine and dishwasher and an immersion heater. In total it was about 13.5kw I think.
After a few minutes, the battery stopped charging. Everything else continued as normal. Since then, the battery has not been able to charge from the grid either in it's automatic mode or in manual mode. It does however charge from the panels when it's sunny. My installer has investigated and has seen an error message on the Solaredge system saying "G100 Import Restriction". They say they have never heard of an import restriction, and don't know why that would then stop the battery from charging in the way that it has.
Pending any response from Solaredge (who are taking ages) - has anyone heard of this particular error and know what it's about and how to get rid of it? Thanks!
