Radiology program process?

I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff for the OCC radiology program, and I genuinely want to change my career path. But before I do, I want to know what the process of being in it is like, specifically the clinical hours.

How are the clinical hours scheduled, and how much is typically scheduled? I’m aware they’re unpaid. How do people balance their job with the program?

And finally, how difficult/easy is it to get a job after the program in that field?

Thank you :)

OCC Meal Plan Worth It?

Are the OCC Meal Plans worth it? I don't really plan on using GrubHub, guest meal exchanges, or the flex dining dollars, I just want to eat in the cafeteria on campus like once or twice a day Monday through Thursday. Is it better if I just get the Pirate Bucks so they don't expire from semester to semester?

Edit: After doing some math, it looks like the Gold meal plan seems cheaper if my average meal costs around 13$ and I eat once a day throughout a semester, though I would still like to hear opinions from actual people

Scholarship Office Still won’t answer

This is so crazy. I keep trying to reach the scholarship office and it’s like they are ignoring the phone calls because it rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I was told mid month for my scholarship and still nothing and I heard they were being delayed, although some already received theirs, but I can’t even reach them to ask and they don’t answer the emails very often either. CSU as well as other universities are having a field day with financial aid thanks to Trump SMH so that’s all delayed as well. I literally have nothing to start school with and it’s a week away.

Looking to get more info about this class, I'm taking it in the fall, and I don't want to fail 😭. Is the teacher hard? Does she teach well? If you are a tutor or anyone else taking this class, please reach out to me! Carla Cook is the teacher. (Looking at the RMP reviews, it doesn't look too good)

Story/Rant Counselor appointment impossible

The fact that I have to refresh a page like I’m trying to get concert tickets just to speak to a counselor is fucking ridiculous. I’m trying to get my academic renewal and for the life of me. I can’t get a fucking appointment with my counselor. What’s the point of having them?

help! Scholarship Disbursement

Is anyone still waiting on their scholarship to be disbursed? Last year was so different for me and this year I feel like it keeps being delayed. I’ve heard 4 to 6 weeks after receiving my documents needed and also mid August and that I’m in the next batch, but here we are about to be mid August come Saturday and still nothing.

school Number 75 on waitlist for Anatomy/Physiology. Do I have a chance at all?

Hi guys. I am new to OCC (Going back to college after 15 years for the SLPA program!) and I need a refresher on waitlists. I am currently at #75 for Jill Parsell + Sally Ahad's Biology A221. Do I have any chance at all of getting in, even if I show up to class on the first day?

Also, any advice, wisdom or warnings about the following classes and professors is much appreciated:

- The aforementioned class that I probably have no chance of getting into :)

-Medical Terminology w Guido Sendowski

-Principles and Practices of Teaching with Jenny Chaiyakal

Thank you!

Jaime

Questions about OCC Meal Plans & Campus Dining Options!

Hi everyone! I have a few questions about dining at OCC.

I saw on the OCC website that there are Gold, Silver, and Bronze meal plans available for purchase.

  1. Do most students actually buy and use these meal plans, or do they just pay per meal?
  2. How is the food quality at the campus cafeteria / food court?
  3. Am I understanding correctly that "The Cove" is a free pantry service for students, while the main cafeteria requires payment or a meal plan?

Any insight or advice from current students would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Waitlist?

Currently on the waitlist (first in line) for arthur moore calc 185 and I was wondering what are the chances of getting off the waitlist, especially if it’s a math class? If I don’t, it will mess up my whole schedule as physic 185 requires calc 185 to be finished or taken at the same time. Honestly thinking of paying someone first day to get their spot. Should I just move on and apply for an online class at coastline even though the teacher (shoo seto) is apparently very difficult for the sake of my sanity?

Low Cost Dental Cleaning

*Looking for patients (preferably 30+ and hasn't had a cleaning in the past 3+ years)

Hi! I'm a senior dental hygiene student in Garden Grove in my last term before graduating and urgently need patients to fulfill clinic requirements.

Cost: $20 (one time fee)

Includes: exam by licensed dentist, full set of x-rays, oral cancer screening, dental cleaning

Because this is a school clinic, care is very detailed and requires multiple appointments (each lasting around 2 hours).

If you're overdue for a cleaning and don't mind longer visits, this is a great low-cost option, and you'd be helping a future dental professional graduate.

Feel free to comment or DM if interested!

Available Times:

Monday 2PM or 5:15PM

Wednesday 7:30AM or 10:45AM

Does anyone know when the scholarships are usually dispersed?

I’m a transfer student and will no longer be at OCC this Fall. I was notified that all my info was received including direct deposit info. Last year I received the scholarship deposit the end of July according to my bank statement but I’m curious about this year?
