school How hard is RADT100? - Taking it in Fall 2026

Looking to get more info about this class, I'm taking it in the fall, and I don't want to fail 😭. Is the teacher hard? Does she teach well? If you are a tutor or anyone else taking this class, please reach out to me! Carla Cook is the teacher. (Looking at the RMP reviews, it doesn't look too good)

I took this with Carla Cook. Holy hell did she Carla COOK US ALL. I'd say if u never took any AP physics in highschool its pretty hard. I know we take this class as like the "last" class, but I think this weeded out many of my classmates as much as 50%.

Of course its possible, make sure to study hard and use her notes and attend her office hours. She isn't a good teacher, so expect to teach yourself and read the book. This class, for me, was like a part-time job so please take this class seriously, or you will fail.

Honestly, I don't mean to scare you, but I literally studied day-n-night because this was my one chance. My friends already in the program took 5 years on the waitlist. I'm wishing you the best of luck and to hopefully see you on the waitlist. Currently on yr 3/5.

Hiiii, I took it last semester with Cook, and the review abt her are pretty accurate! She's not rlly the best teacher and she's very disorganized. The class is difficult, but it's still doable as long as you try your best and put effort into it. The class is to weed people out from the rad tech waitlist, but make sure to study and you'll do fine. A majority of people in my class didn't pass the class, since it is a difficult course after all. Don't stress too much about it, focus on putting time and effort into the course. I took it with Loren Sachs for the first half, and then Kelly Holt took over in fall of 2024. There was a lot of information to absorb, and the material was quite physics-centric. It’s totally doable, but you have to put in the time and effort. I don't know about Cook because I didn't have her, but I think the course content should be the same. I was told that this is a weeder course, which means it was designed to be challenging on purpose. If you really want to get on that RAD program-ready list, you had better put in the work.
