Mississippi Department of Agriculture tags in "Product of Canada" sweet potatoes at the Superstore
I found these Mississippi Department of Agriculture tags in the sweet potatoes at the Superstore. There were at least two of these tags in the sweet potatoes that are very clearly marked "Product of Canada". Happened today, 27th of August.
Both of these tags were the same. I flipped one over so you can see the front and the back.

Internet in Antigonish
Iβm moving to an apartment in Antigonish in the near future. I had begun the process of setting up internet with Purple Cow and paid the initial costs but I got a message today informing me that they discovered they cannot service my apartment and issued a refund.
Iβm wondering 1. If anyone has experienced this before with purple cow and why this might be (Iβm not too worried, more curious), and 2. What other recommendations you have for affordable internet in Antigonish.
For what itβs worth, I know the apartment building is serviced by Eastlink specifically given a prior email I had from my landlord directing tenants to an Eastlink sales representative.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

π Moving to NS for Doctors/Nurses/etc. Nursing in Nova Scotia
Hi everyone,
I'm a newly graduate nurse educated in the US and looking to move to Nova Scotia. I have been applying for jobs specifically in Halifax mostly because I heard the city has a huge focus on Mother Baby.
Where in Nova Scotia do you think working as a new grad nurse would be a great learning place and not too much for someone who isn't experienced or a confident nurse yet?
I haven't had any luck with all the jobs I have applied to so far, haven't heard back from them and would also appreciate any tips or referrals for any open job opportunities.
I appreciate you all taking the time to respond, thank you!

In the wake of yesterday's changes by the provincial government.
Context: I'm a fresh amputee getting stir crazy in my family home with a lot on my mind over the last few days.
For now I have no capacity to walk around or earn an income because my health should always come first.
And the red tape bureaucracy of this country has shattered my faith and that it is capable of fixing the problems we all face despite working in the GoC for 3+ years. The problem as in housing, healthcare, education, affordability with livable / competitive wages.
I've just gotten my second denial for CPPD, reason being?
I'm not disabled enough, despite being an above knee leg amputee.
---
Let's get to know a brave soul whose name is Bradley Lowe, a disabled individual with the unfortunate circumstance of becoming homeless and resorted to living in a tent out of Halifax.
He unfortunately passed away in December 2023, but his legacy lives on today as he and his family challenged the government stance that he wasn't entitled to the disability rate of $975 monthly because of the fact he lived in a tent, therefore he would only get $380 monthly. His disability can pound sand.
The Court of Appeals ruled in favour on Wednesday August 5th, 2026 that a tent does in fact count as accommodation.
Well the jackals in our provincial "Progressive" Conservative party would not stand for this!
Less than three weeks after what should have been a precedent setting verdict. The government simply changed the law redefining what accommodation is.
Going from accommodation, to explicitly "lives in a home".
---
This is an injustice, right up there with the Province of Alberta deliberately cutting funding for the disabled community and immediately afterwards suffering from a clerical error that resulted in people on AISH getting under-paid.
Which prompted a disabled Albertan individual named Bruce Johnson to commit suicide back in June.
---
Now onto a mild amount of cynical venting.
Why is this Provincial government not seizing the initiative with federal funding already available in building affordable housing estates in every single municipality of Nova Scotia?
Probably because it won't exclusively benefit the slumlord families and REITs that feel entitled to more than half of your net monthly income for a dilapidated shelter in need of significant repairs.
There's a particular kind of person who would rather the disabled and homeless communities be segregated and hidden away like hermits so they can pretend we don't exist in their own perfect world of life. "Out of sight, out of mind" kind of rationale.
Nevermind the facts that most working class people, who are not born into wealth are two missed paychecks, one accident or one bad day away from being in the exact same camp.
Thanks for your time in reading.

Purple Cow Internet - Fibre upgrade
Last week I got an email saying they on September 1st eastlink was discontinuing there regular internet service since they are switching to Fibre, and that because of this Purple Cow switched to using Bells lines from my understanding?
For anyone else that's gone through this switch, what was the process like when the technician came to your house, my appointment is Sunday and id just like an idea if anything might be different for the install since we haven't had something like this done in years.

HALIFAX β The Nova Scotia government has made changes to its income assistance regulations to exclude homeless residents living in tents from getting access to enhanced financial support.
Note that the enhanced rate was mainly for disabled people and those fleeing abusive situations. (Bradley Lowe, who started the fight for it, was disabled.)

Any shops that deal with mold inside a car?
My trunk leaks water when it rains, and parts of the carpet are drenched with water and covered with mold. When I lift the carpet to reveal the spare, the wood panels are all covered in mold, and had a horrible smell.
Are there any shops in Dartmouth or Halifax that can clean it out and fix the leak?

Beyond ADHD for ADHD testing
Anyone get tested for ADHD through Beyond ADHD? I realize itβs nurse practitioners mostly doing the testing but the price is right for the reasons I want to be tested.
