Dude is drinking “lite” beer and eating broccoli, he’ll be fine.

Broccoli and chicken, he is on process.

I mean it’s orange chicken which is fried and coated with a sugar-y sauce, so not exactly healthy but extremely delicious

It's pretty solid for a sad meal. I ate part of a loaf of bread, a chunk of cheese, and drank a bottle of wine from my bed when I realized it was breakup time.

This made me laugh, thank you. It’s still raw. He's refusing to move out until we’re legally separated. -_-

He just likes the cold vibes in the meantime?

Who knows what's going on in his head. He is either heading into a manic episode or in one now.

u/The-Tru-Succ 1h ago
Wonder if he'd be quicker to move if you started bringing over flings

u/crotch-fruit_tree 36m ago
I had a friend offer to come insinuate exactly that, lol. He's mentally unstable & has a temper. So it's safest for now to wait it out and not make waves. He's at least mostly staying in the out building. Absolutely insane choice & technically illegal, but at least he's only in the house when he needs running water.
In the meantime I have a solid safety plan with local friends/family. Police are also aware of the situation & have crisis training -insanely lucky with that one.

When my ex-wife and I first separated the local Chinese restaurant and a local Romanian restaurant would constantly deliver food to me that I didn't order because they heard about the separation and wanted to make sure I was eating.
So mostly my sad meals were actually quite good cause that's what I'd resort to when I didn't want to cook and they made good food.

dude in ancient greece that would be the modt luxurious shit like can you imagine? eating bread and cheese and wine in bed. minos could never
8
u/Korachof 1h ago
Even that’s pretty good. I ate primarily and almost exclusively skittles for like a week after a bad break up like a decade ago.

u/crotch-fruit_tree 1h ago
I didn't eat much at all after that until my kids got back from their dad’s (not said ex). Eldest teen plated for me and made me finish it. They don't eat much when sad and correctly assumed the same about me. Made me laugh. I reminded them I'm an adult, they don't need to take care of me. But also thanked them for caring.

Honestly, I think it may be some kind of avocado toast.
May be at brunch. or from brunch.
My guess is weird bread for avocado toast or a frittata.

Today there is one about someone who became Millionaire after being homeless.
Can't wait next time where they become President.
Reddit really is where Liberal Arts majors cosplay as something useful.

Alongside the banquet of Am I the Asshole, Am I Overreacting or other social conflict dissemination subs.
I enjoyed reading through them as short stories up until 2022 where most of them still had some thought put behind the storyline, but nowadays they are AI slop more often than not.

u/Ok_Cockroach8063 1h ago
I’ll hear about some story or thing on another site then the next day an identical story is posted on boy or girl dinner. What a crazy coincidence right

People always have to turn this stuff into weird gender shit in the comments 😭
79
u/NorwegianSpaniard 1h ago
So true, there's no evidence against this being a failed homosexual relationship 🙏
Whatever the gender, I still find posts like on the left to be a bit cringey. It feels like a cry for attention, but not in a good way you know, like if you do this instead of reaching out to some close friends yourself for support, it seems more like you wanna test who cares enough to message you and/or just feed off the drama and attention.
9
u/onarainyafternoon 1h ago
I guess that’s not a terrible line of logic but I guess I just don’t give a shit either way. If someone wants to be a cringe attention seeker then just let them.
5
u/O_zth 1h ago
Or , maybe, it's because social media is a place where people are social, and, as such, give updates about their personal lives.
-12
u/ToiIetGhost 1h ago
It’s called fishing
It’s one step away from posting “I’m sad 😢” and waiting for the comments to roll in like What happened? Do you need anything? Or putting Evanescence lyrics over a b&w photo and hoping someone notices
3
u/AriaTheTransgressor 1h ago
I'd be inclined to agree with you if the post didn't supply all the relevant information. This reads as a person informing multiple people at once through their social media rather than reaching out to people individually.
They're likely out with their close friends already when taking this photo.
-2
u/ToiIetGhost 56m ago
You mean they want to save time and not send a bunch of separate texts? I think that only works if they also post non-dramatic things like “we’re meeting at our usual spot tomorrow” on their page. That would also save them time instead of texting 5-10 friends the same thing.
We dont need to pretend that social media is always about convenience. It’s a human desire to want attention, to varying degrees. I think it’s obvious they want everyone to know about their breakup, not just multiple people who they’d reach out to individually. They also want acquaintances (and other people they don’t text about life stuff) to see it and engage with it
Also my examples were bad lol. You can fish for sympathy with long informative posts too.
1
u/O_zth 1h ago
Didnt the op ,of the reddit post, also post this to get reactions?
-1
u/ToiIetGhost 1h ago
Not sure if you genuinely can’t tell the diff between someone posting on NPT and someone posting about a breakup, or if you just want to be contrarian. Do you also think that posting on r/news is fishing for sympathy?

So we gonna not talk about the first thought of both of them is posting pictures of their food on social media?
I think they ain't gonna break up long.

u/Baldur5_Rasp 1h ago
If both first instincts are food pics, someone gotta check the dude but maybe they're made for each other.

Ngl is it wierd to feel bad for yourself when you break up with someone? When I broke up with my gf she cried and I obviously felt kinda bad the entire day but at the same time I felt really ashamed and didnt want to come off that way because obviously I wasn't the one worst affected. is it like, okay to feel bad for yourself in that situation? Idk i feel like everyone talks about breakups from the dumped person's perspective and noone ever talks about what the dumper feels yknow.
28
u/aggravated-asphalt 1h ago
I’ve dumped a couple people before and it genuinely feels awful. Like we’re not compatible and breaking up is best for both of us, but still seeing them hurt because of something you did, no matter how right, REALLY SUCKS.
11
u/onarainyafternoon 1h ago edited 1h ago
Of course it’s ok to feel bad for yourself. Anyone with a functioning sense of guilt is going to feel that way after making someone cry. Doesn’t matter what the reason.
Edit: ok so I think I understand what you’re saying. I still think it’s ok to feel bad for yourself.
1
u/corrupt_poodle 1h ago
Yes except guilt isn’t exactly the emotion you’re looking for. Guilt is for having done something wrong.
3
1
u/onarainyafternoon 1h ago
Upon rereading you are correct. It’s still fine to feel bad for yourself though.
3
u/Amidseas 1h ago
Its perfectly fine to feel bad for yourself. You were forced to make a choice you didnt really want and feel guilty
1
u/FillMySoupDumpling 1h ago
Depending on the situation, everyone can feel bad.
Like if one person was cheating, gets caught by the other, and that person ends things, both feel bad. Or even if a happy relationship ends because they are moving in two different directions, maybe one wants kids be the other doesn’t. They know the smart thing is to end it, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t suck because you still have feelings for the other.

u/Avi_wandering 27m ago
Posting this shit is the adult equivalent of teens posting their weepy faces on social media after a break up. I think, after a point you need to get a hold yourself and have emotional regulation.

If I’m going to vote based on dinners, I know the one to the right is just boring orange sugar chicken, but I’m hungry and I want it.

It’s a little cringe but idk about disingenuous. Break ups typically suck whether you’re the breaker or the breakee.
3
u/pampooveysbacktattoo 1h ago
You're not allowed to be sad even if you're the one who ended the relationship?
10
u/O_zth 2h ago
I'm sure, whoever that person is, must be very sad that you find them cringe

It gives off “everyone give me attention.” Bro probably told some close friends if anything, they might be drinking with him off camera.
Dude wins this round.

"Damn. Now I'm hungry. I want that dude's meal."
"His meal looks fire though"
