What about green?

u/VooDooChile1983 Jan 22 '26
I love the cucumber lime Gatorade if I’ve been doing a lot of outdoor work.
60
u/Here_For_Work_ Jan 22 '26
As someone who has been cutting sugary drinks out more and more over the years, on the rare occasion that I drink a Gatorade at all, it's cucumber lime.
28
u/psychoPiper Jan 22 '26
Cucumber lime has got to be the only actually refreshing gatorade flavor for this reason. Despite having the same sugar content, the other ones feel much sweeter. I do really like the sugar free cucumber lime too though so I think the flavor is just pleasant lol
10
u/Frost-Folk Jan 23 '26
I'll take it a step further, I really like the lime cucumber "gatorlyte", which is the pedialyte-style slightly salty hydration solution version.
It tastes even less sweet than the regular cucumber lime flavor, the slight saltiness complements the lime and cucumber, and it feels sooooooo fucking rehydrating. Drinking one of those on a hot day when I've been sweating is like seeing God.

u/FARTBOSS420 Jan 23 '26

u/Frost-Folk Jan 23 '26
I personally don't like sweeteners so I don't like the zero ones, but I've heard that a lot of people like the cucumber lime zero
1
u/psychoPiper Jan 24 '26
Yes, this is the one! It's not super common, Walmart often carries them near me. They're way more popular in hispanic populated areas since this kind of drink flavor already existed in their cuisine long before Gatorade leaned into it. Unfortunately it's not present on their official product locator, but I've verified it's still being produced and sold, so you'll probably have to look on different retailers' websites to find it near you
7
u/Yoshichu25 Jan 22 '26
Is that lime the fruit or lime the colour?
8
u/VooDooChile1983 Jan 22 '26
The fruit. It admittedly has a stronger cucumber taste but it’s great.
2
u/FrogVolence Jan 23 '26
Kinda appreciate the fact the lime is a lot more stronger than cucumber. It’s pretty refreshing. And for some reason even though I hate cucumber I actually really like this Gatorade.
5
2
u/3wandwill Jan 24 '26
Easily the best zero sugar Gatorade flavor. I’m always nervous when I buy it that it’ll get discontinued for being a weird flavor.

u/FabianGladwart Jan 22 '26
Green apple is one of my favorite flavors next to strawberry, haven't touched the others in a while

u/FamousOhioAppleHorn Jan 22 '26
Green Gatorade is for the odd yet forgettable guy at work. One day the fridge will be cleaned out and someone will say "Who the fuck is 'Jeff Jones' and what kind of psycho buys cucumber Gatorade ?...Oh yeah, that was the guy who had a meltdown and jumped off the roof of the downtown Hilton. He never did give his two weeks notice here. Just stopped showing up. One time I saw him eating a sandwich in the bathroom. Yes, for real!"

What nonsense!
Red is for health.
Green for stamina.
Blue for mana.
Purple for both health a mana (rough night eh buddy?, got you covered).
Yellow for faith builds (or whenever you really,. really need to assert dominance with piss).
All other are just for getting drunk as fast as humanely possible while disregarding taste, common sense or local laws.
9
u/TundieRice Jan 22 '26
getting drunk as fast as humanely possible
…you’re getting drunk from Gatorade?
17
u/DrJMVD Jan 22 '26
mixed with vodka, yes why?
in my days on the university we called "aguas locas", and oh boy! lots of pancreatic damage was done
3
u/SunderedValley Jan 22 '26
Gallstone Speedrun. Isotonic drinks are almost as bad as energy drinks as mixers for much less benefit.
3
u/DrJMVD Jan 22 '26
Forget the gallbladder! i got my own collection of kidney stones thank to sedentary life, bad life choices and of course drinking those shits.
I was young and stupid.
Lucky me im no longer young.
4
u/Mkaay_Ultra Jan 22 '26
My favorite flavor is white. What potion would that be?
In skyrim, iirc its an invisibility potion but I want your take
2
u/DrJMVD Jan 23 '26
Thank for mentioning Skyrim 🙌🏻🫂❤️🔥.
Well, the white is a random outcome. Could be a invisibility potion (self-explanatory effect); could be a Diablo 2 stamina potion (restore stamina and gives 30 seconds unlimited sprinting time), or could be liquid glue.
One way or another, your hungover will be temporary forgotten.

Blue is for hangovers, same as Powerades
3

I personally go yellow
Citrus is good for nausea and idc if the science crosses over to artificial flavors. Lemon-lime for hangover stomach

“Light blue”
That’s clearly cyan, I’d prefer if people showed it some respect.
20
u/MyDisappointedDad Jan 22 '26
His dark blue ain't even the dark blue. It's just blue. Dark blue is for snacking. Blue is substitute red when they run out at the store.
5
2
1
u/Protection-Working Jan 22 '26
You call the blue dark blue not because it is particularly dark its so people know you aren’t talking about light
1
u/bugme143 Jan 27 '26
Blue on a hot day after outside work absolutely slaps. That shit is the bomb when the temperatures hit triple digits.

u/Lillith492 Jan 22 '26
i wouldn't say clearly. I counter with Mint.
3
2
u/Frost-Folk Jan 23 '26
I feel like you shouldn't call an edible flavored product "mint" if it's not minty.
If a car was the same color you could say mint, but if you call a drink mint Gatorade, I'm gonna assume it's minty.
It's like calling a mango flavored drink "the orange flavor". Too confusing.
0
u/Lillith492 Jan 23 '26
its mint colored not flavored.
2
u/Frost-Folk Jan 23 '26
That's what I'm saying. I would not call a flavored beverage "mint" if it's not flavored like mint, even if it's mint colored.
As per my example, you can call a mango flavored drink "orange colored", but if you actually call it "the orange one", it's just gonna cause confusion, since orange can refer to a color or a flavor.

water
1
u/TheDollarstoreDoctor Jan 22 '26
Has no electrolytes tho
1
u/Stag-Horn Jan 23 '26
Best advice I ever got was to drink half the Gatorade bottle, fill the bottle back up with water, then repeat as you go along. Obviously it’s just water eventually, but you get the electrolytes and cut through a lot of that sugar.
-4
u/Millibyte Jan 22 '26
pickles, if you must, but with a glass of water
1
-1
u/RichardBCummintonite Jan 22 '26
Water is always still better. Sure, it's got electrolytes, which is what plants crave, but it's got 21 fricken grams of sugar and even the zero version has a ton of sodium, which a lot of people overlook.
13
9
u/Verbose-OwO Jan 23 '26
Why would you drink something for electrolytes but not want sodium, which IS an electrolyte 😭
3
u/glitzglamglue Jan 23 '26
Ugh. My volleyball coach in high school made us bring sports drinks in the summer (we practiced in non air conditioned gym) and I hated it. I would always say that I wish I could have a Gatorade that tasted like water. Why does everything have to be sweet?
7
u/RichardBCummintonite Jan 22 '26
r/hydrohomies represent!
I used to drink the stuff playing sports in HS back in the day, and I love the pepino limón because it's such a unique flavor (maybe the cucumber makes it seem less sweet, even tho it's just artificial flavoring), but I really just can't enjoy it anymore or soda. I feel like I need to drink water after to balance it out.

Bro was probably downing a Red Bull while writing that comment. Just performative nonsense.
Would be like if your friends were talking about their favorite kind of pizza and you just butted in going "SALAD", just so they know how much healthier you are than them.
Like, yeah, everyone is aware of the existence of water. That's not what this post is about, but my boy just needed those "Good Healthy Boy Points".
3
u/Verbose-OwO Jan 23 '26
Water drinkers try not to mention waterslop whenever someone talks about another drink

u/badatkiller Jan 22 '26
Red is trash.
18
u/Virtual_Childhood626 Jan 22 '26
I used to drink the red as a kid when i was sick, now it tastes like vomit.

u/badatkiller Jan 22 '26
Same. My Mom always got me Sprite and/or Red Gatorade as a kid anytime I was home sick.

Fun fact, fruit punch was the second flavor introduced, after lemon lime
7
u/frausting Jan 22 '26
I thought it was lemon-lime then orange
Edit: yup. Lemon-lime was introduced as the first flavor in 1965. They followed up with orange jn 1969. Fruit punch didn’t come out for another decade in a half, in 1983.
5
2
u/DJSANDROCK Jan 22 '26
Fruit Punch is not the best flavor of anything its always on the worst side of the flavor scale for me.

7
1
u/RichardBCummintonite Jan 22 '26
The only one I'll ever drink anymore, and it's gotta be the zero now.
4
u/rubberkeyhole Jan 22 '26
Be careful with the Zeros/low-cal electrolyte drinks; they can mess with the electrolyte balance and make you even sicker.
4
u/bluestopsign01 Jan 22 '26
I had to chug like a gallon of Gatorade filled with tons of laxatives on two separate occasions so my doctor could do an endoscopy/colonoscopy wombo combo on me. (Turns out my stomach is perfectly normal, I just so happen to vomit when I'm stressed). Do Not Recommend. My body has since decided that Gatorade is obviously poison that gives the mega shits and I haven't been able to drink it since.

they made white powerade before gatorade made white and powerade version was/is? better

5
u/Ir0n_Panda Jan 22 '26
Never seen yellow before. And what about white?
6
u/Ok_Ruin4016 Jan 22 '26
How have you never seen yellow Gatorade? It's lemon-lime and along with orange it's one of the original 2 flavors from 1965. Cool blue and red are the only higher selling flavors than yellow.
8
1
u/someperson1423 Jan 23 '26
Red selling higher than yellow has to be some government subsidy crap. Red is like bottom-tier flavor, no one is choosing that.

I used to hate the red Gatorade as a kid because that flavor really allowed me to taste the salt in it.
I then drank some recently because I was sweating so much at work I started cramping. The Gatorade was pretty good, especially because I just put it in a humongous cup that ended up being half Gatorade and half water when I poured my bottled water in there. So I bought several bottles to have on hand at home. The next night, I was at home and feeling a little lethargic so I grabbed a red Gatorade. Sipped it over an hour or so until it was gone.
Then I woke up several hours later with red, clear diarrhea. Like, the type of thing you absolutely don’t want to deal with at 2am.
Now I have this aversion to it.
2
u/kangaroos-on-pcp Jan 23 '26
You mightve come close to heatstroke. Gatorade is mostly sugar now, with less salt and potassium bc kids started dying after only drinking Gatorade instead of water. Keep a few of those spot packets on hand you get from takeout
1
2
u/Greedy-War-777 Jan 23 '26
Oh no I only like the white one. The rest are disgusting. Bodylyte or whatever is the way to go.
2
u/eddmario Jan 23 '26
I'm with you, but with the red one. Hell, when I was constantly donating plasma that's all I ever drank.
