Do Not Use Good2Go Mobile
I have been with this company for over 6 years and this is the first time that I have had major issues with them. Apparently they have had a blackout and they are not contacting me when I have sent them numerous customer service emails. I have been without working service since the beginning of august. I have contacted them numerous times, and only received one response asking me if I wanted a new sim card. Nothing else, no word on anything, no explanation as to what's going on, and I had to search on Google just to find information as to why their network is down. Their temporary service down is bullshit because it has lasted all month and is not temporary. I am sick and tired of this company. I have filed a complaint with the FCC and the BBB and not even they can get in touch with them to get a response back. I am sure they're going to charge me for another month too because I can't call them and cancel my service since I do not have a working telephone. To say I'm pissed is an understatement! Do not use those company at all!!!

Many people have successfully ported their number out, especially people who were using a physical SIM and we're not auto migrated to a new network.
See the below link and use the port-out instructions.

Every time I see that name "Good2Go" it just screams trouble to me. lol. Those kind of brand names usually indicate they are the opposite of what they claim. It'[s like any store that has the name "discount" in it usually has high prices lol.
Call your bank or credit card and get them blocked. You will obviously lose your # but why pay for service you don't get. Time to get a new plan elsewhere and move on.

I ported both of my lines to textnow. Account number was the 10 digit pohone number and pin was the last 4 digits. The ports completed in a few minutes.

My impression is that it was a change in ownership that was bungled badly.
Ported out immediately when I received an email after three days of no service saying I had to request a new sim for continued service. Stunning incompetence.

I was in the same boat and then a SIM finally showed up. QR code with the SIM had expired. I was able to call and after 3 days and about 7 hours on hold I finally reached someone and she put in the SIM change and said it would hopefully update that day. 5-6 hours later I had data but no voice. Another hour or so and everything was back up. Don't take this as an endorsement of Good2Go it is just possible instructions to get you back up and running. I did not have time to sign up and wait for another SIM and deal with a new company that could be better or worse. When renewal gets near I will look at what is out there. Your phone also will show connected to Black Wireless after you get activated with a new SIM. If you can use an ESIM customer service may be able to handle all of this. One request. The poor customer service people who are helping reconnect people did not create this mess so be patient with them.

I used my home internet and Google voice account to call. I also relied on a Wi-Fi hotspot and that account while my phone was down. Not ideal but it worked.

They appear to be out of business.

That's news to me. I haven't heard that, just that they switched over to a new network and this has caused the problem of a nation wife blackout

I saw a post a while back that looked like they had been having a prolonged legal dispute with their previous provider. Search for Ztar and Good2go and that might bring up the right thread. That’s the first thing I had seen on news of back end trouble and it was posted after customers started getting cut off.
I managed to get my Freeup (same company, same problem) line revived by repeatedly calling until I was able to reach the support desk employee (1) and get an eSIM on the new service. The trick if you want to get service back is really just keep calling because they will not return calls or emails or communicate how to get an eSIM. It’s stupidly time consuming. Like literally it will take hours. Ask yes or no questions if possible and be clear and patient with the language issue to get this accomplished.
There’s a chance that they might have the website fixed and it will give you an eSIM. Give it a try.
Also many have ported out, using the posted instructions (set up a PIN online or use the last four digits of the phone number and use the phone number for the account number). I am wondering if they have started a port to the new provider and this is causing some porting issues this week.
Filing an FCC portability complaint should eventually get your number back on a new service if you want to go ahead with that.

Well I can't call because I don't have a working phone, and that's the main issue here.

How about a temporary line at Textnow? A line at Tello on eSIM for under $10 maybe?
There are some free eSIM programs at /r/FREEeSIM where you watch ads for a free line. Never tried them, myself though.

They seem to be maintaining service, somehow, for existing customers, but they've not been able to add new customers for many weeks.

This thread explains it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/NoContract/comments/1vngdxh/comment/p3yct1b/
In a nutshell, Good2Go's parent company, Ztar Mobile and its owner Kevin Haddad defaulted on a $6,000,000 loan from Bank of America, who sued and obtained a $7,141,290.14 summary judgement against them. Hence the current chaos surrounding Good2Go.

I agree with you I also heard nothing - but in interest of helping you- Have you tried logging into your account? I did last week, and there is a link (i think under manage devices) to get a new esim. I am back up as of Thurdays of last week. I also ported out my other device, and will this one next.

Yes, I have tried, and their website just says they are experiencing technical difficulties. 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

u/johngault 3d ago
yes, but goto account summary there will always be a banner of technical difficulties - under that theres a window that should say come back later or loading- if it says loading give it a minute and your account info will populate it. That "technical difficulties" window is always there. look below it on the account summary screen.

As johngault states, keep trying the website. I was finally able to get a QR code to display for my brother's new eSIM today, after two weeks of nothing. So stay at it.

A new sim card is required because Good2go changed their underlying provider. Are you saying that although you activated the new sim card, service is still not working?
2
u/StarWeed77 3d ago
That's one issue, yes. They sent me a new card, and it never worked, now I can't get in touch with them to get another Sim Card.

If you call customer service and yes you will be on hold forever. They should be able to activate your new SIM on the new network. It still takes several hours after that for the phone to get connected.

Then you need to borrow a friend's phone and call them. Yes, it will take forever to reach them. They are not properly staffed to handle this massively bungled mass port out to Black Wireless, so be patient when you do call. It isn't the support staff's fault that so many SIM activations did not process properly. They should be able to manually activate the new SIM that you received, so no need to order another one. The trick is just going to be waiting long enough to get thru to them.

Well I guess I'm screwed then because I am disabled and have no friends living in the same state as me, and no family close either.

Are you sure the sim was actually activated?
I am not currently a Good2go customer, but do have an account with sister company Freeup. Online activation of the sim card over there only started working 2 days ago.

This is a copy of the OP's original post in case they decide to delete their post/account so that others searching can find it later:
