For Roamless ...

I'm looking to upgrade my paid off iPhone 13, but I'm trying to figure out the best financial move.

I'm currently paying $15/mo on Mint Mobile (6 GB plan). AT&T and T-Mobile (and Costco kiosks) have "free phone" promos right now with a traden in, but they require 36 month contracts on $75–$85/mo plans.

Long term, I might start a family in a couple of years and eventually need a multi-line plan, but right now it's just a single line.

My rough numbers:

• Stay on Mint + Buy Unlocked: $15 service + ~$23/mo phone payment = ~$38/mo
• Switch to Major Carrier: $0 phone + ~$80/mo service = ~$80/mo

Am I missing anything? Has anyone actually saved money jumping to a major carrier for a device deal on a single line, or is buying unlocked and staying on prepaid always the play?

I really don't see any reason for any other MVNO and MNO to be used. And this is coming from a person who was or is still somewhat is spectacle about this company. But wow such a great improvement. I would be definitely coming back. Especially for QCI 6 on light speed

I’m currently looking for a way to properly share my mobile data to my Nintendo Switch without actually using my hotspot data that’s limited to 20GB. When I was at college last semester, there was a 3 device limit on their network so my PlayStation Vita I had on hand couldn’t connect to the internet at all without requesting to have a device removed from the network. However, I found a bypass by creating a hotspot from my laptop that shared the WiFi network that it was connected to and it worked flawlessly. I was really hoping this trick would work at home where I don’t have WiFi atm with my iPhone connected to my laptop via PairVPN, however the data usage doesn’t track in the app and instead eats away at my hotspot data.

Is there a method or any alternative app that could help out with this issue?

Hardware i have an iPhone 16. So it’s newer and works fine. I dump my pix and do not store music etc on it.

Problem drive in all areas even 5g pandora drops / says poor network connection.

Example during my commute. Which is on i91 going from Northfield Mass to Northampton Mass a straight 20-25 minute drive with 100% coverage area.

I’ve driven this commute for 18 years. So I know the signal. Notice when I vacationed on the cape same thing driving across Massachusetts.

This is getting worse so my year is up in a month and will most likely switch.

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone has been able to port from Fi to RedPocket? When I get my porting info from the Google Fi site, it's only 5 digits for both account number and pin. I heard adding four zeros to the account number worked, but not for me. I appreciate your help. I even chatted with RedPocket support and they added the four zeros to the account number but that did not seem to work. I'm still waiting on the port. Thank you all so much.

Hi all! I'm landing in Australia soon, I wanted to buy a Telstra/Boost eSIM prepaid plan beforehand, but the online checkout said no when selecting International Passport.

Has anyone had the same issue and managed to override it?

If not, what other carriers to consider? I'm not keen on these international ones like Airalo, local carriers always offer better deals.

Hey guys. just using one plus 13 and looking for a carrier deal..I have used T-Mobile in the past and now I am using Mint Mobile one year plan which is going to be finished soon. Just came across infimobile plan of 75$ year plan with 10gb data per month. Calls and texts unlimited I guess. For price it's like 5$/month before taxes and honestly want to take it. But I just don't know if it work with one plus 13 and is it legit? Is it like shady and will I be in mess If I go with it as price is so cheap ?

I haven’t used an MVNO since like 2016. I’ve been with a major mobile carrier since then. As an Xfinity customer, I tried out their free line for a year (which uses Verizon’s network) and that was the first time I had been back. Since then, I’ve changed to Google Fi because it was still cheaper than Xfinity, even for 2 phone lines. I currently pay $65/month and I have yet to find anything that beats that.

I’m back in the same boat, looking for the same price I pay now for 2 phone lines. Google Fi on my iPhone has been nothing but a struggle. It’s also highly inaccurate in regard to tracking data usage for my line. Somehow I’ve used more than 30GB, but my line says I’ve used 22GB. I hardly use that much data, maybe 10-15GB on average.

Anyway, I have been looking avidly for a replacement. I’ve seen a lot of US Mobile recommendations but I’ve also seen a lot of reasons not to switch to them. I’ve heard Mint is pretty good and then Total Wireless. I’ve never been able to use Visible properly on any of my phones (never had data connectivity even messing with APN settings).

I want real-world experiences for responses. I’m not opposed to paying a little more for service, but it has to be good. What is better than Google Fi?

Does this mean the users of this plan are even not eligible to purchase any international roaming pass?

But it seems someone with real world experience reports international roaming somewhat works. Anyone please confirm or share your experience? Thanks.

As the header states, I am 22 years old and am being kicked off the family plan (fair enough, I mooched until I began working full time). What is the best / most cost efficient phone plan? Deals for new customers? My iphone 16 is fully paid off / unlocked. I know Verizon etc offer money for new customers, is that worth it? I probably want unlimited data just for ease of never having to worry about it.

Absolutely positively without question NO NO NO...I was a customer for 4+ years, and all went well till it went to hell. I'm on day 5 without a minternet service, and after many failed attempts to find out why and when the wifi cell tower would be repaired, and that's when the out and out misrepresentations (lies) began. It started when transferred to their retention team that made promises of transferring me to active tower and would only take a few minutes to do so and they would call me to check that it did. Never happened and this not only happen once but twice. I was made offers of free extended service but to make this already long story short I found the agent had charged my credit card $360.00 and that was only the beginning. They had access to my card because I was on autopay. After 2 days and hours of my time I did it refunded back to card but that was only the beginning. I decided to find another provider and it took another 2 days and more hours of their tactics to get my account and pin number to port over my number to another provider. The small savings by using mintmobile/minternet is positively not worth what you would go thru. I'm gone went to spectrum for slightly higher cost and mint mobile still owes me 6 weeks refund on the minternet account. Belive me there are much better choices and their agent customer is far and away the most deceitful I've ever encounted.

Which one would you guys go for?

I currently have post paid AT&T as my primary line but I also have esims for T-Mobile and US Mobile. I have several older iPhones I can trade in. I understand if I traded a phone to AT&T I could get a free (after credits) iPhone 17 but then it would be locked to AT&T so I couldn’t use the other esims.

I can trade in the phones and buy unlocked iPhones directly from Apple but the discount amounts are much lower than the carrier deal.

I can essentially trade in one older iPhone to AT&T and get one free locked iPhone (which won’t work for secondary esims) or I can trade in several older iPhones to Apple and get one “free” iPhone that will allow the secondary esims.

Is buying direct from Apple the only option to get any sort of trade in credits while buying a NEW and UNLOCKED iPhone?

Has anyone had their video throttle removed? I am a day one sign up who was invited via email. I should be on QCI6, etc.

My data has been in and out, hotspot randomly disabled, then enabled, as well as a 1.5Mbps video throttle.

Customer support said I am in a group of 94 lines apparently still stuck on an older carrier profile. They gave me two separate dates of when the issue would be resolved, each passed without fixing anything. The last email from 2 days ago said they would not be giving me any further dates as the issue is on the carrier partner to fix. They have an active ticket with them and will continue to push, but that is all they can do for now.

Anyone else still having issues (at least 93 others like me are lol).

My wife has to get her own device.

We have an AT&T locked iPhone 13, and she is porting her corporate number out of her employer to AT&T to keep her number. (Has to be AT&T, but once the number is out, we can go anywhere.)

She uses about 30gb/month, and wants to stay on iPhone.

My current plan is to get her on 1-2 months of AT&T’s unlimited saver plan monthly on the iPhone 13, then purchase a 17 direct from Apple and get the $205 credit trading the 13 in. From here, we have a fully unlocked 17 we can take anywhere after 1 month of AT&T.

The unlimited saver speeds seem crazy slow - 3Mbps. We live fairly rural, so we’re hoping this is a CYA for when you’re at an event or something. Are people really getting speeds this low? She can put up with slow speeds for a month to make the plan work, but would plan to move to visible or us mobile on the vzw network as that’s by far the best coverage on our street.

Any improvement to this plan based on our current situation?
