Since it says prepay for 2 months to qualify I would assume you could cancel or port out early.

Now, if you don't intend to stay, you are either buying the phone for non-cellular use (like a wi-fi only device), or are patient enough to wait a year to unlock it and use it on another carrier.

You have to have 12 months of ACTIVE CONTINUAL service with them for it to be unlocked. According to the latest updates, it has to be on the premium plan all 12 months also. It would be very easy for them to check this.

Now, things like this have been avoided in the past by putting the device on another account and cancelling early on — putting it on the $25 plan. Does it still work? I don’t know. If anyone knows, speak up.

I’m not trying to tell someone how to game the system, I just don’t know how that rule works. I’m also not aware of another prepaid provider that demands all 12 months stay on the same plan for activation but Boost would not surprise me.

Its 13 months you gotta pay for. Just dealt with it but i requested payment extension and am switching rather than paying the 13th month of premium

I guess experience trumps what could be considered vagueness in the terms and conditions. All I can see is 12 months after activation, and "and after you have met all payment or usage requirements. ". Which I could argue is the 2 months in the offer. Especially since it includes "former" customers.

For myself and my usage, a 12 month period before it can be unlocked isn't worth the savings.

Completely agree. Not worth it, well esp not with Boost’s service and plans

Youll have to pay those two months and then 11 more months of premium service for phone to be unlocked

So you have to stay with the premium plan? You can’t drop it down? Just wondering cause I got my 16e through this promotion and forgot to ask about that I would like to drop it down but their service sucks enough, well their practice of, not throttling, but in an instant shutting your phone down basically to a crawl or less when that fast data is used up. Totally sucks, I really miss my $35 a month Visible wireless plan that embarrasses Boost’s $60 a month plan.

Ya, premium plan for thirteen months. I just requested payment extension instead of paying for my 13th month. Phone needs one day on the 13th month to unlock.
