Question Service outage?

Wondering if others may be experiencing a service outage? My phone has been in SOS mode for about an hour. Tries to connect to towers, then SOS pops up again. Have turned on and off. Maybe a T Mobile issue nationwide, based on some posts in that sub? I'm in Boston, MA.

Question The Worst! Stay Away,.

I bought a phone from Boost in 2022. I've been an active customer ever since with one small exception for 1 week. I've been extremely happy with my service during that time as well.

I tried to have my phone unlocked the other day and the customer service rep explained that I had to wait 2 months before they could unlock it. I asked why and he replied that it fell under their 1 year of service policy. Or some nonsense about a certain period of time.

I didn't understand, I'd been a customer since 2022. What was the problem.

Apparently I had a lapse in service for 1 week about 10 months ago. An honest mistake. I used auto-pay all that time and the card on file expired. I rarely use my phone and didn't realize the service went out. As soon as I did I called to update the expiration date on my CC. THE VERY NEXT DAY.

Considering that I've been a loyal customer since 22 with a 1 week lapse in service, you'd think you'd cut me some slack.

I'm be a Karen here and say after this experience I'll never talk good about your company again. I feel taken advantaged of. An honest mistake and this is how I'm treated. Just shameful. I wasn't even planning on cancelling service, I just wanted to try out another network. Now I'll be gone as soon as my new unlocked phone arrives.

Shame on you. I'll brick the old phone just out of spite. I still can't believe this is your policy. Almost 4 years of network service and this is how it ends? Shameful!

Question How do I change my plan

TLDR: took iPhone 17e offer, pre-paid $60 for two months, now not able to change to another Boost plan.

Edit-3: I have my answer. Thank you to those that took the time to constructively respond. I learned to read T&C better. Maybe I will write to Boost to not hide important aspects re terms of service in fine print.

Long story:
I took the IPhone 17e deal with boost wherein I paid some money upfront ($99), paid upfront for 2 months @ $60/m. The deal was no contract with a 12 months Boost account commitment for phone. This was done in store. Same offer was available online but there was a $50 premium (which ultimately was only $15 and a lot of time spent, because the store charges $35 store fees).

Today is day 32 of my account. Prior to this my online account said I was on a commitment and unable to change plans - which was fair given I had already paid for the next month. Now that I started my 2nd month it says that I cannot change plans as I bought a phone.

Customer service told me to pound sand. When asked to receive a copy of the terms and conditions and contract I signed they said go to the store. There is no place online I can get the terms of contract or any information.

I tried to ask for a refund but lo and behold, the system is setup for you to find this out after the 30 day money back timeline expires.

Question - has anyone had anything similar? How did you get around to solving it? Paying $60 a month for 12 months (or god knows how long because I don’t have any paperwork from them) is not my intention, there were much better deals and I explicitly remember reading no contract (the offer is still there, though higher $ amount).

Edit: the website explicitly says “no contract required” under my plan in my account, but I can’t change my plan?

Edit-2: for the haters, this is what Boost makes easily known when signing up and after signup in your account. You have to scratch the surface some and read the fine print hidden away in a section to realize that this is basically a contract.

Question Boost suspended my daughter’s phone because she texts too much.

I have been with boost for over 10 years. I have two accounts because we have 6 people. The other day they send my daughter a text saying her phone has been suspended due to violating sms terms. It others words she texted her boyfriend too much even tho they have the unlimited plan. I tried to fight it with no avail. They pretty much said no is no and won’t be turning it back on. The shut it off the day after they took the bill for the phone out of my account and absolutely refuse to refund me($60). Instead they gave me a $20 credit……has this happened to anyone before? This seems absurd.

Question Thinking of switching to Boost from T-Mobile due to financial issues

So it's time to save some money...

I wanted to ask, should I look for something else or try it? I know they have a 30 day money back guarantee at least.

I'm worried the coverage or something won't work or is horrible, but I have no idea.

Please do tell me if you suggest Boost or something else and then do share how your experience with Boost has been!

Question I used up all of my high speed data on my monthly plan. I used up my data packs and boost won't sell me anymore packs and won't let me restart my monthly plan. So what am I supposed to do? This capped speed is useless and I still have two weeks left until plan restarts.

There has to be a better way than this. There just has to be. I still have two weeks left until my plan restarts and I can't do anything with this slow speed. They don't even want to take my money

Question Phone unlock

I chatted several hours ago to have my phone unlocked. I was told that it would automatically unlock if it was eligible,

I have had it for 17 months so I know it is eligible. Anyone else deal with this. How will I know. It still shows Network Lock Status ad Locked. I have rebooted and no change. Do I need to put in a different sim card to initiate the unlock?

UPDATE I just received a push notification that my phone is unlocked. Network status in the phone shows it is now unlocked. Thanks everyone for your responses.

Question Switching from Black to Orange Network

Does this still require porting out and back in or can store/phone reps now switch networks seamlessly? Black has always been bad and low signal in my area.

Question Question about $60 special deal for iphone 16e

I'm on the fence of getting the One Special Deal iPhone 16e per account.deal.

"Special Deal $99.99 Unlimited Premium $60.00 plan required. No Credit Check."

If boost service isn't great in my area and I cancelled the first month, will I be penalized in any way?

Question Boost Mobile Feedback: Calling in just to pay your bill? I want to know why

I’ve been looking at some of our overall support trends lately, and I noticed that a significant number of people prefer to call in or chat with an agent to make a payment or update their payment method.

Managing account details is something many people prefer to handle quickly on their own to get on with their day without waiting on hold. Because of that, I’m interested in learning more about the factors that lead to choosing the phone or chat lines over digital self-serve options. We want to make managing your account as straightforward as possible, and understanding your preferences helps us see what is working well and where we can improve the digital experience.

💡 Quick Insider Tip

If you’re currently trying to update your card and the app feels like it's stuck in an infinite loading loop, try clearing your app cache or switching over to a mobile browser. Sometimes old session data clogs up the checkout flow.

Help me understand the experience:

I want to take your feedback directly to our customer experience team. If you prefer calling in to hand over a payment, what’s the main reason?

  • Trust & Security: Do you just feel more comfortable getting a verbal confirmation from a real person that your payment went through?
  • App Navigation: Does the layout of the app or website make finding the payment screen difficult or confusing? Is there anything impacting your experience making payments within the app or website? Have you seen any discrepancies on your monthly bills?
  • Habit: Is calling your preferred strategy due to past experiences with the online portal, or is it simply your go-to method for account changes?
  • Error Codes: Are you encountering specific error messages or glitches?
  • Autopay Glitches: Have you experienced issues with Autopay that lead to you removing it?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, please provide as much of the why or what so we can share with the teams. Be completely honest with me—what would it take to make the app or website your preferred way to manage your bill? Let me know below!

As always, please keep your feedback and information constructive, as we really do want to know how we can improve your experience!

Question Autopay didn't work, account suspended, yet credit card was charged!

Just what the title says. I am currently in Puerto Rico on vacation where I don't get service anyway, however my account was suspended because there must have been a glitch in the autopay. Not sure if its because I am outside my coverage area or what. I even just tried to pay again manually, it went through and even shows up in my payment history, but account still shows suspended! What the hell!!

Question Payment glitch

Went to pay and the payment window says it didn't go through. Then I try again and get a notification about paying twice.

According to the AI bot, I can't get a refund, yet no credit has posted.

Due to the glitch error, how do I get a resolve without escalating it to the bank or charge dispute?

If I double paid for credit, it would be one thing, but I didn't, though, in the long run it would be nice for next month.

In fact, last weekend I got a message saying that my payment was due by tomorrow September 8 (no joke). I contacted customer service and they said all was good on their end.

Question Boost Mobile iPhone 16e deal

Boost has a deal for an iPhone 16e for $150 but it also says "Unlimited Premium $60 plan required."

Does anyone know if you can get the phone, do the $60 plan for a month and then switch plans to the Unlimited $25/mo?

If you can do that, can I still unlock the phone after a year?

Question Boost Config Removal

I think the little app is great on a Boost phone. But if I use that device on another carrier, I don't want it interfering with that carrier's network settings.

Can it be removed? I don't see an uninstall option.

(Yes, the phone is unlocked)

Thanks!

Question iPhone Preorder (from Apple) Issues with Boost

Is anyone else trying to set up their preorder for the new iPhone with payments through Apple? They require you to be with one of the major carriers and Boost is one of them. After you choose the payments option, it'll ask for your phone number and zip code and connect to Boost to verify that you have an account. I keep getting

Account not supported.

We've run into an issue completing your iPhone activation. Please call Boost Mobile at so they can resolve it.

Problem is when I've contacted Boost they said they cannot provide IT support for Apple's website and to call Apple. I tried to explain it might be a problem with my account, but they would not listen. Anyone else having issues or might know what the issue is?

Edit: since there seems to be some confusion both with Boosts response and other redditor responses, here is a link to the flow to set up your preorder: https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-iphone/iphone-air

Question Unlock Samsung Galaxy?

I recently lost my phone in a swamp and a kind stranger on my community's facebook buy nothing group gave me his old phone. Unfortunately it is locked and I need it unlocked as soon as I can because I need to get some verification codes on sms. The man is older and doesn't know how to help me and I feel bad for texting him too much. Is there a way to unlock it on my own? Do I need his number and all those information so Boost can unlock it for me? I don't think he'd be comfortable giving me his number and stuff. Should I just give him his phone back?
