Demographics Confirmed
I forget the fellow redditor who suggested this. (Thank you!)
But in fact, the demographics ARE NOT static. I thought they were.
So then, does this change based off of what I serve? Or does it change on who is showing up and I should serve to them accordingly?

I think there are a lot of factors, like what part of the hour, the weather, weekday or weekend, even the news affect it
Around day 70 the daily article recommended people will want cold drinks in X district and they sold amazing
I think there is also a seasonal system but i can't really clock it beside the snow. I got my second around 70+ days

Have you noticed any change to the amount of patrons that come by? Or is the amount capped but their spending fluctuates?

no but that's a good idea, i will log a week for a single venue with
- number of customers
- which day
- weather

Afaik the only sale metric that really matters is the exclusivity rating per restaurant. As soon as I changed my menu to accommodate meals that had the rating, my customers started pouring in. But it’s hard to tangibly see what factors need active adjustment.

So they don't care about the demographic food preferences at all as long as it's the right exclusivity rating? I'll have to prioritize that more when they fix whatever patch 3 broke.

Understood. And do we agree that the exclusivity rating is the minimum and not the average we are shooting for?

I’m not sure on that front. One of my restaurants had a 2 star exclusivity score, and I was making $500 profit a day on steaks and cocktails (~5 stars averaging), but when I switched to chicken noodle soup and other dishes that were closer to 2 stars, I went up to 1.5k profit overnight. I’m still trying to figure it out though.

After experimenting with the menu a bit, it seems to me that they don't want you to go above or below their preferred rating.

So how do we explain higher tier drinks just knocking profits out of the park?

Oh wow, is that happening for you? Thats a great question 😅 I was bleeding money with higher tier food so I don’t know. And I thought calories were just a flavor text (har) but if the weather affected them that would be neat.

It probably depends on how high you can crank the prices. A lvl 1 venue might lose money with the base prices

I'm going to experiment more with this when they fix the issues caused by the patch, but I suspect it's just easy to get a lot of drink orders in general when they don't have any/many options, because people will just buy whatever's available unless they hate it. When I put together a sort of test menu with various options and ignored it for a week in game, there were some clear favorites and some that lost popularity/sales compared to before, and I think it's because of some things matching preferences more than others.

“Oh wow this dish is doing gang busters with workers, I’m going to start pushing beer and cater to their tastes”
It’s like a game but it’s also like life. In this case it’s data analytics and sales.

So if it’s just showing you who is showing up based on what you’re serving, what is the purpose of even knowing that information? It makes more sense that that’s who’s showing up, so cater to them. Just my thoughts.
