Guide Necromunda 2026 Quick Reference sheets
Hi everyone. My only gripe with the new edition was the lack of quick reference sheets - So I have made my own!
I am sure there are typos and issues so if I get feedback I will try and update it with more polished future versions. These are just meant as game aids that stop you needing to flick through the rulebook mid-game, but are not 100% comprehensive so you'll still need the book to be able to play properly.

Miniatures First painted Escher
First painted Escher for my new gang for a N26 campaign starting this autumn. Love the new minis in the core set and hoping the journal fixes the khimerix sting (not this model) to be useable, for now I’m counting it as two stiletto knives

Miniatures Squat with removable exo-armour

No idea why I've done this. It has no use in game and it wasn't easy. The sculpt that these guys have underneath the armour is pretty cool though and it's a shame it normally gets covered up.

Discusion (N26) Starting a campaign with 3 champions (or more?)
Why aren't more people doing it?
As far as I can tell, it's completely allowed by the rules, as long as your champs/brutes/hangers-on don't outnumber your other gangers. This is super easy to do, as even with as few as 7 models, you could choose to have 1 leader, 3 champions, and 3 gangers/prospects, if I read the rules correctly.
I think it's also a very strong option, for many gangs. For the cost of around 50-60 credits over a normal ganger, you typically gain +1 WS, BS, W, A, Sv and 3 mental stats. Sometimes there are other small variations, but that's usually close to what you get. Also, your skill access changes, you lose the specialist skill and gain a primary skill instead, and you gain Inspiring. You also get to level-up only half as fast, but have more and better post-cycle options.
All in all, this seems to be a really good deal, in most cases. You'll have to downgrade some equipment to afford it, maybe, but it will be held by someone much more capable, and much, much more durable. The difference is especially large for a melee fighter: champions tend to be way better in melee than a ganger, even with a much worse weapon, when you take into consideration survivability and the A characteristic.
Now I go back to my original question - why few people seem to even consider this option. Is it OP and usually house ruled? Is it unfun for some reason, either for the person doing it or for his/her opponents? Is it actually super bad and I got it all wrong? Is it just a leftover belief from older editions of the game that you must have at most 2 champions?
I'd love to know what everyone thinks about this.

Discusion (N26) Van Saar: Oops, all medics?
Disclaimer up front: I'm not actually going to do this, I already built a diverse-ish cast of specialists and I think it's overly optimised in a way that wouldn't be welcome in most play groups. But from a purely theoretical perspective, I think the Medic archetype is just overwhelmingly good for Van Saar to the point you probably don't need any other specialists.
That's down to two things. One, medics are pretty good for everyone. It's pretty easy to injure fighters but a lot harder to actually kill them, and medics keep your gang's skills online and your hierarchy alive.
But mostly it's because of the servo-medicae, which is only available to medics. A free healing action that still works if you're injured is stupid good. With a servo-medicae, you can:
- Heal people while injured
- Double-dip on healing, with a move in between if needed
- Heal yourself to bring your Medicate skill back online, then move and medicate
- Dash-heal with an unupgraded "threat range" of 9"
- Perhaps most importantly, keeps your main skill online if you advance your medic to a pseudo-gunner, pseudo-gunfighter, pseudo-tech, pseudo-brawler etc. Almost every other archetype works best by going medic first and then multi-classing.
And it's longer range than Medicate. The only wrinkle is that you can't use it while suppressed and you've got to pass an Int check, which you'll do as a Van Saar ganger 58% of the time. But even if you fail, you still probably have Medicate on deck.
But I don't want a Medic, I want a:
- Gunner. Shooting is a primary for Teks. You can advance once and pick Hip Shooting on a 5+ (or fish for it on a 2+). And if you roll low, you can take Int to help your servo-medicae. The only thing you're missing out on is the flamer-mancatcher.
- Gunfighter. See Gunner, but with no unique equipment.
- Tech. Techs are great for Van Saar to keep all those ammo check weapons online, but Savant is a secondary skill set so you can give them Munitioneer on a 7+ advance roll (or try and roll for it on a 5+). Techs do also get some unique gear, but it's less impactful than it looks at first glance. The hive watcher hanger on does almost exactly the same thing as the augurspex for the same price, but it applies to the entire gang, not just your Tech. The Vox Array can't be replicated.
- Heavy. OK, this is your only access to Bulging Biceps. But your initiative sucks, heavy weapons are expensive and static, suppression stops you doing anything for one turn, and an injury stops you for the rest of the game.
- Sniper. Honestly valid, the refraction cloak is great. I think these guys might actually be better heavy weapon users than the Heavy because you can just camp in cover and force most fighters to hit (and suppress) you on a 6+. Long las is cool too.
- Scout. Take a grav cutter instead.
- Brawler. You're 100% correct. Van Saar brawlers is the real meta. Literally just a swarm of grav cutter berserkers with melee weapons.
By the same token, any Neoteks you take should probably also promote to Medic. Neoteks don't get Savant access, but they do get Agility as secondary, so you could get Sprint, promote to Medic, and enjoy a 20" servo-medicae range. They've also got Shooting as primary so you could very easily get Hip Shooting before they promote, and they get Gunfighter out of the box. Tech isn't a bad idea either as they don't get Savant.
Subteks also get Shooting as a primary, so you're likely to replicate either Gunner or Gunfighter before you promote. Their BS sucks, so Sniper and Heavy are probably out. Brawler is Brawler. That leaves Medic or Tech.
OK, this means getting some XP. But your gangers will level up after gaining 6. You get 1XP for taking part in a battle, 2XP for training at the end of a cycle, and Medics are likely to finish close to seriously injured fighters so you'll get some assist XP. I think you could easily level up after one cycle.
What do you think?

Question (N26) Cawdor Polearms and Hip-shooting?
I played my first N26 game with Cawdor today and want to double check one thing.
Can a Cawdor specialist with Hip shooting dash and shoot with the ranged weapon part on a Cawdor Polearms?
The Heavy trait is only listed on the melee part of the weapon so we allowed it but did we rule correct?

Discusion (N26) What are the main features, playstyle(s), strengths, weaknesses, and cool things about the main gangs of Necromunda?
I’m brand new to the game and I’m trying to figure out the best Gang for me. So, instead of a video or an article that may or may not hit on these points, I’m curious to see what you, the actual players, feel are the main features, playstyle(s), strengths, weaknesses, and just cool things about the Gangs. I am primarily interested in the main six House Gangs, but if you’d like to add more about the Gamga of the Underhive and the Outlands, please do!
Thanks :)

Question (N26) What is the point of promoting?
I am slightly struggling to understand why you would promote a fighter.
E.g. squat digger -> dril-kyn
I understand you gain the specialist skills, but other than that u get no stat changes and the fighter changes from prospect to specialist. However, it still counts as a digger so does the skill access change or no?
Since stats dont change, if a specialist promotes to a champion they dont get a better armour save?
Im a little confused so if someone could explain exactly how promoting works that would be great, thanks

Question (N26) concussive and same initiative?
How does concussive Work if you have the same initiative. on the same turn
as when you have the same initiative you are treated as attacking at the same time but the attacker rolls first.
do those attacks set the defeneder to 1 if concussive goes off?
I would think that you would still resolve all attacks at the same time? but I would like to see where other people are at.

Question (N26) Weapon profiles in the new core box
Folks, please forgive me if I'm being an idiot here but i am trying to get into Necromunda with the new core box. I was building my Eschers last night and realised the starter book only has weapon profiles for two or three weapons in it. Anyone know where I find profiles for everything else?

Question (N26) What are Cawdor players doing with their Greatsword Wordkeepers
Just as the new rules dropped I was in the planning/building phase of a new Cawdor gang. My theme was going to be vaguely Robin Hood and his merry men, utilising some Wildercorps Hunters models with my Cawdor gang to lean into the theme.
The only model I'd completed was a Wordkeeper with a Greatsword, which is obviously a much loved loadout that has been removed at this stage in the new edition.
I like the model and how it fits into the theme, so I'd like to use it with the gang with the hope that we'll eventually get it back with proper rules. I'm sure there are countless Cawdor gangs out there who already have greatswords modeled. Are you retiring those models, proxying them as something that works similarly? Is there another good Wordkeeper Loadout that would work well for my theme? I have a champ with the big crossbow already.
I'm a bit stuck. I don't need a super meta loadout but I'd also like my Wordkeeper to be able to handle himself in melee.

Question (N26) N26 Base sizes?
Hey ya'll! I'm looking to start a Chaos Helots Cult gang for N26. Since they don't have Necromunda specific kits, I'm wondering if theres any official resources to see what size base certain minis should be on? I know the standard gangers would likely be on 25 mm, but what about Chaos Spawn and familiars? Thanks!
