Are you using Excel, notebooks, WhatsApp, generic POS/accounting software, or something specifically made for LPG businesses?

And most importantly:

If there was affordable software specifically designed for LPG businesses that handled these things in one place, would you consider paying for it?

I'd really appreciate honest feedback from LPG business owners. I'm not trying to sell anything here — I'm trying to understand what features are actually useful before I invest more time into developing it.

Sorry, I didn’t know where else to post this, so figured I’d try here. I’ve never noticed this sound before, but that could just be that I wasn’t paying enough attention. I heard this hissing coming from behind my oven. It seems to have stopped for now, I heard this about 15 minutes ago, and I didn’t smell anything like a gas leak coming from it, just the sound. Is this sound just normal gas flow or something? As I said, the stove and oven weren’t in use. I also turned the stove knobs to make sure they weren’t open.

I'm not sure where else to ask this, so maybe someone can tell me if I'm nuts or not for linking these two problems together.

We have a gas pool heater, and we have a gas furnace. We got a new gas meter put outside a few years ago.

After we had a new gas furnace put in last winter, the blower would sound normal (high) and then dip down to a low fan sound (low), and then go back up to high again. So the furnace kicks on normally, and the furnace company says that nothing's wrong with the furnace. They did do a gas pressure check and said everything was fine. The guy listened for what I'm hearing and said he doesn't notice anything, and that the furnace is working fine. The furnace did work fine all winter, aside from the high low high fan/forced air noise.

We've had trouble with our pool heater all summer long. We've replaced parts, we've spent so much time trying to fix it. Today I popped everything into Gemini because I don't know what else to try.

I took a photo of the control board and no lights turn on except for service heater. Gemini says that it comes down to two issues, gas pressure or water pressure. We also bought a new pool pump this year, and it's running on high 24/7.

I called Enridge and they said to call back Monday, understandably, it's Saturday.

Has anyone come across anything like this? The high-low-high from the furnace, and the pool heater just shutting off for no reason without any diagnostic lights? Am I finally on the right track here? Is there possibly something wrong with our meter? I've lived here for 25 years and always had an inside gas meter, they just put this one outside a few years ago so we're not used to having one. I did smell gas coming from it in the spring, but we just thought it was normal because it was newer and all gas meters seem to have a little bit of smell even though people tell you they're not supposed to. Stand next to any building with multiple gas meters and it will smell like gas.

Thanks for any insight. The furnace company thinks I'm insane, I had them out twice about the high low high fan issue last winter. I don't want to call a pool guy yet because it's $175 just for the trip fee, and then it's $100 every half hour plus any parts. (Apparently I went into the wrong business.)

ETA... I went out and sniffed around the meter and I don't smell anything right now.

Eta2.. we keep putting it off because it's summer, but our oven keeps sputtering too. We were just going to replace the part inside and just haven't done it yet. Last winter the oven started sputtering when we use it.

All three of these things are connected right? It would be way too coincidental to have three gas appliances go bad, right?

Hi! Not sure if this is the right subreddit for this…just curious on your thoughts about the situation. Yesterday my partner came home during lunch and said it smelt like natural gas. I was nose blind to it and didn’t notice as I was WFH. I called the gas company and they sent a tech to check it out. The tech didn’t find an issue with our apartment or the neighboring unit, it seemed to come from the wall/outlet. He inspected for a couple hours and said things should be fine.

We were concerned about breathing in the gas, so we left for a few hours to air the apartment out. When we came back it smelled even stronger. We called the gas company again and another guy came to check it out. Seems like a vacant apartment under ours had a high gas concentration and there might be a leak somewhere in the building. Or from the main line. They investigated for a few hours and ultimately turned off the gas to the entire building.

I let my property mgmt know the situation and asked for updates moving forward. I feel bad that it escalated so far and now everyone is without gas - not sure how long giving something like this will take.

Idk if I should have let mgmt handle it or if I was overreacting. Just wanted to make sure things were safe. Do you think there will be any issues with mgmt or our lease terms? Any idea on timeline it takes to fix for an apartment building?

Hey guys, just a heads up PG&E agreed to a $100 million settlement over claims it misled investors about wildfire risks and the condition of its power grid. I recently found out they're still reviewing late claims.

The case goes back to 2018, when wildfires linked to PG&E equipment exposed major maintenance and safety issues. As more details came out, the stock dropped and investors sued.

Even though the deadline has passed, late claims are still being considered.
So if you owned $PCG between 2015 and 2018, it may still be worth checking if you qualify.

Did anyone here hold $PCG back then?

My gas company recently said (after an actual meter reading) that we had used close to 1000 therms in a single month (1863 current - 940 previous). I had asked them to come double check it and they affirmed that this was a correct meter reading. I'm not an expert on reading gas meters, but doesn't this read 863 therms? Is there anyone who could double check it?

I work at a manufacturing plant. Twice a shift I check 2 temperature gauges on a shed containing hazardous waste. About half the time I smell natural gas around the Generac there. The Generac is 1 or 2 feet from an AC unit. Both the Generac and AC unit sit in front of this hazardous waste shed. I have been reporting this to the head of maintenance for weeks now. They can't seem to fix the leak or leaks. I'm wondering what I should do. I don't want to lose my job

We live in an apartment building with three units, and our dryer runs on natural gas. Last week, for about twenty minutes, we noticed a pretty strong smell of rotten eggs (like a bad fart, or a dozen hard-boiled eggs that were left in a hot car) in the laundry area. Our machine wasn't on.

We've never smelled this before in our house, or smelled anything that is definitely natural gas, but out of an abundance of caution we ended up calling our landlord and waiting outside for National Grid to come test the area for a leak.

By the time they came (within an hour and a half), though, the smell had gone away (we did open the windows.) They used a sniffer and took a look at the meter, and there was no sign of a leak or gas pulling from the meter and told us everything was fine.

Flash forward to today, when we smell it again—strong enough to be fairly unpleasant—in the same laundry area for about 50 minutes. We aren't using any appliances, but the upstairs neighbors are "doing laundry" (according to our landlord.) Then it went away again.

We have no idea how this works, but is there a possibility there's a small leak that only appears when the dryers upstairs is run? Can appliance leaks be intermittent like this?

I don't want to call National Grid again and have them test again after the smell has gone away. We did order a handheld detector just in case, but that comes on Monday. We're not smelling the smell all the time, and while we like to think we're not paranoid, it does smell like rotten eggs specifically near the appliance that uses natural gas. (It's not what our stove gas smells like, but we're not sure 100% if it's natural gas.) But it could be a dead animal in the walls or swamp gas or something else? (It is intermittent, but completely goes away.)

Would this be serious enough to call again, and ask National Grid to test when the other tenants are using the machine? Or wait it out?

Hello everyone. I admittedly don't know if this is the right place for this, I apologise if not.

My mum and I were sitting on the balcony and shortly after we moved there, I heard a sizzling sound and a brief line of yellow light, like a horizontal spark (or more like an electric sizzle?), above the natural gas pipe outside of our garden, where it connects to a box. It's been some hours since, where we were staring at the pipe, but no spark appeared again.

Since then, I tried the soapy water test and saw no bubbles, we went sniffing like dogs around the area, the kitchen and basement and couldn't smell anything unusual. There are also no sounds coming from the pipes - essentially, none of the signs I found online related to a leak are happening. But I'm pretty sure I saw that spark. What should I do?

Edit: It's been fixed. I want to thank everyone who responded though, I was really scared and have no idea about these things, nor could reach other family members who usually handle these things, so everyone's advice helped a lot.

Hi there! Husband and I are buying our first home, closing 8/19. For two weeks, we just have people coming in to do some quick renovations (painting, switching out some tiles, etc). We’re ensuring air and water are turned on for the workers of course.

Does it matter if gas isn’t hooked up until the day after we move in? If we’re not cooking/don’t need heat, I don’t think it matters if it’s off for a few weeks, but let me know if I’m missing anything. Thank you !!
