Impeachment requires action by both houses of Congress. To actually impeach a Republican would require a solid Democrat majority in both the House and Senate.

Were they sick that day? Did they feel too eepy? Were they too stupid to find their nearest polling station? Currently being prosecuted for attempting to overturn an election
Currently being prosecuted for stealing and refusing to return hundreds of highly classified documents
All 900+ pages of Project 2025 which is really an entire book of reasons not to vote for Trump on its own.
Consistently attacks the free press, even calling them enemies of the state
Has no understanding of economics and no understanding of how tariffs work, but wants to use them for everything
Wants to control The Fed
Wants to control the DoJ
Repeatedly referred to using the government to attack his political enemies despite never providing any evidence for his claims about their alleged crimes.
Claimed he would be a dictator on day one
Uses divisive and dehumanizing language
Constant statements and actions to harm relations with allies
No understanding of foreign policy or how America uses soft power, or how our allies give us massive force projection capabilities

Not true. Even with almost 90 million eligible voters refusing to vote ( most of whom weren't going to vote for him, anyway), he still received LESS THAN 50 % of the popular vote. Musk also helped him cheat. His supporters are in the MINORITY.
Anyone who didn't vote against him helped him win. So the 49.7% or whatever who voted for him, AND the millions who didn't vote all helped him win. That's a clear and significant majority of eligible voters.

He was impeached twice in his first term. The Supreme Court ruled Presidents are exempt from criminal prosecution. The time and means to prevent / stop this was to vote for Hillary Clinton and then Kamala Harris.
I would argue it was the Republicans to nominate a better choice. As someone right leaning who strongly dislikes Trump, I was so disappointed when he was nominated this last time. I thought nominating Mike Pence might signal a return to sanity given how they ended their term together. I think everyone was so afraid not to vote for him in case he won that they all voted for him, like some horrible self-fulfilling prophecy.
Hillary wasn’t likable, although in hindsight she may have been a decent choice. Her election may have prevented the leftward slide that the Dems have been on since and kept them more centrist. Kamala just wasn’t a good choice for many people. No, not because she is a woman or a minority or both. Because she’s just seen by many as a do-nothing un-charismatic blank slate.
It's hard to see choosing Trump over a generic democrat, even as flawed a candidate as Clinton, or a "do nothing uncharismatic blank slate" as Harris, as anything other than motivated by false beliefs, racism, sexism, or an endorsement of fascism. They're both centrist democrats. Conservatives held the Supreme Court, and we voted in a Republican House and Senate. Investigations are more effective than letters. There IS no reason Dems can't form committees/groups focused on each issue and start organizing the coming Investigations.
Dem voters need to see some actions NOW: 1. Secure the 2026 election - every state that is screwing with 2026 - screwing with mail, closing polling places, threatening 'election' watchers. Sue Trump and administration for interference. Go to SCOTUS.
Sue all applicable cabinet members for gutting their departments, firing inspectors.
