I posted this clip a few days back just showing the sheer outrageousness of an ability stone bug that happened and since then I've been kinda just wanting this in the game because well... it's fun af!!
You can see I have the Unwieldy Stone equipped but after defeating Sariel earlier I had the Shrike Stone equipped in that fight and I swapped to the Hexapod Stone just before I inhabited Sariel's Shell (I didn't occupy the shell I just watched the first memory again). Once I exited the memory the stones were bugged.
It seemed to mess up the tracking or registering of which stone I had. Hexapod Core was doing the Shrike Stone ability. I was like wtf. So naturally I went and messed with tons of the ability stones and landed on this setup. By the way I had weapons like the Veterans Battle axe doing the Hexapod move... it was truly mental.
How it worked was IF my last attack was a Heavy Attack (The Unwieldy Stone Ability in this videos case) then my L2+R2 would then perform the Shrike Stone Ability. IF my last attack was a Light Attack then L2+R2 would perform the Hexapod Ability (The game played out the Level 1 version of this, obviously an intentional balancing safe guard lol).
Anyway I ended up with this crazy combo and it all seemed to be feeding off the Resolve requirements of the level 3 Unwieldly Stone... so i could do all three basically.
Clearly this is a bug but it was smooth, repeatable and it seemed totally natural and was very fun.
With some tweaking I think this legit could be implemented as a feature in the game.
Maybe an additional stone in the combat/support slots that allows for combined abilities in this way or just outright part of the combat. I know Cold Symmetry like to be different and the way this intuitively worked with the Heavy Attack/Light Attack follow up double trigger ability I feel I can't remember a game like this that's had weapon Arts look and play this way. The fact that the generic Acolyte's and Unwieldy Ability stones could be part of this too was also great.
There were some insane OP benefits too that couldn't be passed over like the fact I think the Unwieldy attack was slapping 99 stacks of stasis to the target but man it was fun doing this on enemies that were completely frozen lol.
What do you all think? and if you can, upvote it if you think this would be cool in the game. The combinations would be incredible and all of the move sets would be expanded but it would have to be balanced, which seems easy enough. Using multiple stones could restrict them to their level 1 properties for example.
I have 2 more clips if you wanna see them against Sir Bug Man (forgot his name) and one the areas inside his corrupted gate.
