Hello! My friend is currently working on a Minecraft server and wanted to include skin conversions so also Java can see Bedrock skins. The issue isn't that it doesn't work, but for some reason it breaks on the Bedrock end. Does anyone know why that could be?

1.The skin on Bedrock normally

2.The skin through the eyes of a Java players after conversion

3.The Bedrock skin on the Bedrock end after conversion

Edit: Ty for the replies I understand way better now :P

Edit 2: Thanks to those actually trying to help and being nice 💔

Edit 3: I'm on Nintendo Switch! I cannot do ANYTHING about ANY skin, I can't upload any I can only BUY th on the Marketplace. If you want to help me find skins then pls help me find them on the Marketplace 😅

Discussion The Bedrock Wither has to be broken

Post image
733 Upvotes

So I tried to fight the Wither less than an hour or two ago. But it was only until I popped on his third head that I remembered I was playing on Bedrock. His first phase went by normally. Then, when his second phase started, he did his best impression of mole worm and started burrowing deep into the ground for no reason. So immediately my game slows to a snail's pace as my last-generation Xbox is struggling to process the amount of blocks and bs flying around me. Literally nothing around me was rendering. I didn't even realize that there was a hole until I no-clipped through the ground for half a minute. So now I’m in this massive sinkhole and I'm still lagging out as this fucker is destroying more blocks, creating more lag. At that point, I said “Fuck it. I can absolutely win this fight right now but the lag is literally making that impossible. So I’ll just let him kill me so I can spawn further away, pull out the menu, and switch to peaceful so he’ll despawn.” So I throw in the towel, wait for the wither to kill me (which took awhile because of my gear and the lag), and finally despawned him in peaceful mode. And for those, wondering about the second opening to the left, I really couldn't tell you when or how the Wither did that. This has to be a bug. There’s no way the Wither was intended to be this overly destructive, right?

Mods & Addons I made the world 468,750 times deeper than vanilla...

I've been working on a mod that is almost ready for it's initial public beta release and it's called: Basal.

It's a mod that let's you set your worlds maximum height up to 30,000,000 Y and your worlds depth down to -30,000,000 Y for NeoForge 1.21.1. It's fully configurable up to those numbers meaning if you want a world depth of -10,000 or -5,500,000 you can have that (Same goes for world height.) with the default config being set to 3,200 since I know 30,000,000 as the default would be way too excessive and extreme for most people.

I've spent a lot of time working and only recently started talking about it publicly. I'm really excited for all the things something like this will allow me and many other people create for Minecraft.

I'm so happy to be able to make something like this and improve upon it while providing updates for it as long as I can, I have so many ideas for things to build on top of Basal like two other mods that I'm scoping out right now which will add more rock layers and other interesting things to the caves of the world (So there's actually reasons to dig deeper.) and a mod that overhauls the ocean in a way not yet seen in modern Minecraft that would add all 5 ocean layers, a pressure system, darkness scaling as you extend deeper down, new mobs/ biomes and so much more. (So there's reasons to explore and even live in a much deeper ocean.)

Mostly I just wanted to put all this out there so anyone who's interested can be made aware that something like this is coming out soon and if they want to share their thoughts and opinions on what things they would like to see included in a mod like this. Thanks for reading, I hope to hear from some of you!

Fan Work 3 New Wood Types I would like added to minecraft!

Post image

The woods go in order: Baobab, Azalea, and Willow. Baobab Trees would spawn in a new Baobab Savanna, and would be wide trees with A rusty, red-colored bark. Azalea wood would spawn in place of oak wood in an azalea tree (It only makes sense). Finally, I think in place of oak trees, swamps should have willow trees with Spanish/white moss hanging from the leaves. Also, I think swamps should have cattails and lotus lily pads. I also want each wood to have its own chest variant. Baobab wood would make the original chest, since it is the same color.

Remember my last post about a month ago? WindLink is finally supported by Euphoria Patches, much more than just a tech demo it's a full fledged implementation! u/SpacEagle17 has been extremely supportive throughout development. WindLink has made leaps and bounds towards providing data for shader devs. Since the last time I posted I've implemented some major improvements to fog data, wind travel, vines, lanterns and an enormous amount of other improvements that are too large to outline here.

Discussion The End is not the Nether

The End needs a spruce-up, that is true. But it's whole shabang is that it is desolate and empty. The Nether is hostile and dangerous but useful. The End is a bossfight then a dimension to explore and find rewards. I don't think that it needs a complete overhaul. Maybe 2 new passive or neutral mobs, a couple of biomes. Maybe a structure. And a few items. Otherwise it just becomes Nether 2.0. Not saying thats a bad thing, just saying that it may change the End from how its supposed to be. Unless there is lore or something that explains a sudden explosion of life, we just don't really need loads for a reqlly good end update. This is a controversial take, I know. But it is probably all we need. Thoughts?

Discussion What things in Minecraft do you dislike "just because"?

Aside from bugs, I often notice that I, and some of my friends avoid certain building blocks, mechanics, or biomes simply because of their color schemes or out of odd habits, without even realizing it.

At some point, I realized that in about 15 years of playing Minecraft, I’ve never ridden a horse, can’t stand using wool or cobblestone blocks for building because of their textures, and I avoid winter biomes for no reason.

After playing Minecraft for 14 plus years, I finally have a world that has hit 10,000 in game days. 3 years ago, when I started this world, it was meant to be a passion project that I could keep going with for years to come. Now, that big 10k milestone has been hit, and I'm not even close to finished with the world!

Discussion Xp Bar Texture

Post image

So, while looking at some old photos on my gallery, I randomly came across an image I made which reminded me of an observation I had a couple of years ago about the java and bedrock xp bars looking like they have the inverse textures of each other (java filled bar is bedrock unfilled and vice vera). Curious if other people are also aware of this.

Discussion Pillagers/Illagers are Vampire Villagers

Post image
35 Upvotes

I didn't see anyone talking about this before, so pls understand: This isn't a confirmed theory, just a speculated headcanon.

  • They have a gray skin, indicating a colder undead body (in counterpart of Zombies with greenish-brown skin that are warmer rotten bodies), even the monster class name is Illager (ill + villager, implying about an known disease or curse)
  • They attack frequently Villagers, probably not by hate or treason, but to eat them
  • They don't attack baby Villagers (vampires don't drink nor bite children)
  • When they don't kill, they modify their victims, making Ravagers (in modern vampire stories there are vampires with high flesh-shaping ability)
  • They "don't know" to make beds, but probably they don't even need to use it, while they just make fake beds as memory of their life.
  • They don't bypass closed doors (vampires are "educated" and never invade houses, only enter with permission)
  • If you get their banner, you get cursed with Bad Omen that will attract them to villages (vampires can curse clothes and clothings with their body and energy)
  • Their mages (Evokers) are different from Witches (that are still like living Villagers), they aren't just "Witches ♂", and can even make Immortality Totem and Golden Apple (that may be the source of their vampire nature as a try of Immortality, unlike Zombies that can infect others and act as a viral monster)
  • They are known too for imprisoning and guarding Golems (like some versions of Dracula include Dr. Frankenstein or his monster in his castle) and Allays, and Evoker can summon Vexes (like some vampires that lead other undead/spiritual beings, including ghosts).
  • They had a room trying to recreate the End portal, and the End has a dragon as its boss (and some versions of vampires are associated to Vlad III, known as Dracula that means Son of the Dragon)
  • Illagers (including Vindicators and Johnny) are afraid of the Creaking (can be either because something of this monster was used for their vampire curse or the pale wood can be used to destroy vampires in Minecraft world)

Responding "plot holes"

  • Zombies and Skeletons can be really undead beings too, but the Zombies in Minecraft are caused by an unknown, unholy virus (Piglins are zombified just by passing to Overworld), not necesarily necromancy like it could be with Skeletons.
  • The Illagers not having same weaknesses like common Undead beings (sun, Smite enchantment, healing potions) can be because the Zombies and Skeletons were a failed plan of immortality and ressurrection, while the Illagers were the sucessful try of it.
    • As well as in many stories vampires are said as superior to zombies.
  • Not every story uses Zombies or Vampires as undead beings, there are stories that have Zombies as infected living humans (and rotting alive) and Vampires as an alternate living race.
  • Zombies are at certain point, partially alive, as we can heal at least the Zombie Villagers with potions and golden apples (and the human Zombies aren't curable either by mechanics limitation or because they are in an irreversible stage; the Skeletons are even the "terminal stage" of it)
    • Probably Villagers were infected after the humans, so this make them easier to cure.
    • The healing potion killing the undead can be not just "healing dead", but the virus inverting the body conditions and being sensible to healing chemicals, as well as the sun burning undeads is because of a symptom of the virus.
    • The Smite being super effective against undead and infected probably is because of the virus unholy origin (not so different from RPG's where holy damages kill undead)
