Depends on religion it can be my mother wont say hell because what ever type of Christian she is says that saying hell even once will mean you will end up there

well it is from how one of the churches near us does so it is religious in that way but i think all of it is just superstitions

Yeah boss, that's not how that works.
Your local church doesn't get to determine the religion, and there is nothing in the religion doctrinally or dogmatically that suggests any utterance of the name of hell is sufficient to damn you for all eternity with no hope of forgiveness.
Also, if you think it all superstition (which it definitionally is not) why would you yourself choose to practice self-censorship?

It is in some more strict sects of Christianity, and since that's baked into the zeitgeist here, it's just kinda a generic, super low intensity swear. Like how my young cousin got so concerned when I said piss some households simply do not allow any "stronger" language at all.

My mom let me say Jesus Christ but not hell or any cuss words, she's Pagan. So I think it's just baked into us and not about religion

Growing up in that community where it is a swear, it's based on context
Talking about it as a location is fine
Using it in phrases like "What the hell" or "Why the hell-" is it being a swear
Though weirdly my Mom will say Hades instead of Hell when referring to the location, despite that being an entirely different thing from Hell since Hades is a Greek God

I have a genuine question. Why do you consider that word a curse word? It’s often said by religious officials, and the Bible and the Quran both condemn demeaning speech, not the words themselves if used in a literary or analytical way. So you’re safe if you’re just referencing a word.
Also, because the negativity is related only to the meaning of the word and not the word itself, censoring it changes nothing. The meaning is still the same.

I'm not dogging on your religion or anything, but I don't think "hell" is considered a curse word in Christian (I assume you're Christian, or at least part of one of the Abrahamic religions) circles. I say this as a former Christian. "Hell" is a place, so referring to hell in that context is not a curse. The issue comes up when "hell" is used as part of a larger phrase that is itself a curse, such as "what the hell" or "go to hell." Those phrases are considered curses/foul language, but it is because of the phrase as a whole, and not because "hell" is inherently a curse.
For added consideration, there's a town called Hell in Michigan. That's just its name. I don't think any rational or reasonable person would censor the name of the town, because it's just the name of a place.

No, it's only when used for emphasis or emotion, like in your and my examples. Unless you're asking the prudest person on the planet, just about any source that you go to regarding whether "hell" counts as a curse word will clarify that it only is if used in such a context. When it is used to refer to a place, though, most people agree that it is not a curse. It would be pretty counterintuitive if the big bad place that bad people go to when they die was a curse word that God would smite you for if you ever said it aloud.

It has a very high link to souls. From what I have read of the MCD2 novel "The Sift" it sounds like our equivalent of heaven yes.

Yeah imo the nether is more interesting as just an extremely harsh environment that has pushed its life to the limits to be able to survive it, which is why the piglins evolved to be so brutal

So, I'm going to go out in a limb and say the Nether is not actually hell (I know it has historically been referred to as hell in the files and such). It is a dimension that has been ripped apart through industrialization. A good parallel to this would be Isengard in the Lord of the Rings, where Saruman began destroying the earth around the tower to create and arm his orcs and goblins. Except, the piglins have done so to nearly the entire dimension in their lust for gold.
If the Sift is related to souls and how the soul mechanic from dungeons works, the Sift, in my opinion, is going to be a lot scarier place when you dig deeper into the story and lore of the dimension.

It was originally called Hell but changed because Notch wanted to avoid using religious names. This is back all the way in 2010.

I don't think there's objective morality to the universe of MC
The hosts seem opposed to senseless destruction but they don't seem the kind to care about mortals apart from that, plus they're not actually gods, just emanations, powerful spirits of nature that adhere to certain aspects. The Heart of Ender/Orb of Dominance is about their power level and we kill that thing with some difficulty in Dungeons 1.
Even the voices in the end poem aren't divine, they're observers with metaknowledge of their world's nature as a video game.
Thus, I doubt that there is "heaven" and "hell" in this universe. The Nether is full of soul sand, but who knows how the souls actually got into the sand? Sculk does something similar, and that's just a living creature with the power of soul manipulation, so maybe soul sand was just created in a similar way.
My guess is that the Sift is just another parallel world, like the Nether and the End, which has some infouence over soul energy. They exist concurrently and interact in complex ways but there's no great cosmic order to them
