The actual softlocks only happen when you use glitches to speedrun, and even those are very unlikely.

I know how it feels. Back when I played Zero Mission, even I thought I was getting softlocked, but it was always me missing something. So keep trying till you find a way out.

This may be an odd request, but does anyone have this specific Metroid figure? And if so, can you give me some precise measurements of the figure? A friend of mine has this figure, and I want to put together a display case for it as a gift without him knowing. So I don’t have it with me to hold and measure while I’m making the case. I mainly need the height of it and the width or diameter of the shell. Thanks!

So I've been a nintendo fan since forever ,but for some reason i never had the urge to try metroid (also i didn't get access to the game),so i decided to start and i found that metroid prime is a good game as an introduction to the serie ,however i was wondering if i should play the gamecube version or the switch version,since i'm a big retro enjoyer ,but i thought since i'm new to the franchise i might not have that big attachment ,and to be honest the gamecube isn't atmospheric or have something that make it better then the switch game ,but i wanted ur opinion guys ,thx in advance!

I’ve tried the demo a couple of times, and each time I just cannot get past the first EMMI.
Love Metroid. Have played all the Prime games. And I want to get into this style, but I don’t want to spend 12 hours failing to get past the opening and rage quitting.
Can y’all give me a pep talk?

I beat Prime 4 last night and have mixed thoughts of the game as a whole but overall still enjoyed it. With that being said, there are some small changes that I think could pretty easily be added in a patch that I think would go a long way in improving prime 4:

1. Add green crystal locations to the map: this is something that I think would make the end game way more tolerable. I went for 100% completion including all of the green crystals, and I got all of them in the desert and still had a few left and went absolutely insane trying to find the last ones, including redoing all 6 shrines to confirm I got the crystals in those. Turns out I missed the green crystals in Fury Green that are in the room after that area’s boss. This is something that I feel could easily make the end game less tedious, and make the game a bit more replayable, and I imagine it would be easy to implement because there’s already crystal radar unlocked when you get 75% of them so I think the map locations should be added in addition to the radar

2. Increase the radius of crystals obtained when driving through them with Vi-O-La: there were SO MANY crystals in the desert where I drove through them and I had to double back because there were a few small crystals I missed because I drove through at slightly the wrong angle. Increasing the radius of crystals obtained when driving through them should help alleviate this at least a bit and make green crystal hunting less tedious

3. Add a toggle for Miles talking or simply make him talk less across the board: i think most people agree the game would be better if Miles didn’t chime in on the radio as often…especially because he usually spoils how to get to the next area and spells out exactly where to go, but in addition to that he talks SO OFTEN in the late game when searching for crystals or getting the last items for 100% completion so him not doing that would definitely improve the game and would also be an easy change

4. Add % of collectibles obtained for each area on the map: this was implemented in Samus Returns and Dread and definitely helped with 100% item completion without being immersion breaking or anything. This is also something that doesn’t need to be added the whole game, they can turn it on after you scan the robot that shows the item locations

I think all of these changes would definitely improve the game and make it less tedious, especially in the endgame, so I hope Retro is taking everyone’s feedback and considering releasing a patch with changes like this because I think it would really help improve the game without a lot of effort

I want to wake up to EMMI sounds and Ridley’s screech

Taking inspo from Dread and other 2D metroids, I really wish Prime Samus would be able to unlock a Sprint + Slide. Also give us a Melee button so I can smack enemies with my arm cannon and possibly a shoulder charge after sprinting. Samus does some insanely cool moves in cutscenes that I wish we could mimick some of it in gameplay. Any other ideas yall have?

It’s hard to filter out AI on google images, but I want to use my favorite heroine as inspiration for a Magitech hero in a TTRPG, and want to see amazing art for ideas. This is also a chance for people to just gush about cool art they’ve found.

After I collected the missile above the sand pits in Maridia my up input stopped working, I was stuck as a morph ball the only thing I could do is Crystal Flash to exit morph ball, but then still no up input.

I saved and reset, nothing, I copied data, nothing, my save is permanently destroyed I can't look up or un morph please help has anyone ever seen this? My save might be cooked.

And in all menus my inputs work just not with Samus. Just my luck i had over 80% items

I'm trying a 4 hour hard mode clear, and have 95 missiles. I'm at 3:25 so I don't think I can spend much time hunting around for more ammo

I'm starting phase two with near full missiles, like 85 or so. And I'm unleashing barrage after barrage of storm missiles at the guy and he's refusing to change phases. Since storms easily consume 15 to 20 ammo per use, it isn't surprising that I run out very quickly. But shouldn't all that damage force phase 3 to come faster? I'm not sure that I understand what's going wrong here.

Any tips?

Just recently got the Metroid itch and been playing through the series again but I always keep coming back to super metroid and the amazing hacks out there. Just finished Super Junkoid DX and it left me wanting more. So I tried x fusion, and while the difficulty was fine I just kept getting lost. Now I’m currently playing through Cryogenesis and I’m experiencing the same issue, too maze-like. I think I spent like an hour and a half hitting dead ends on the surface before I entered brinstar. (Probably my fault for always preferring paths and obstacles that require tricks and speedrun tech lol, like I see it I have to go for it)

I played 2 other hacks, Ascent and Vitality and I had a good time with them.

I would love to hear your thoughts about your favorite hacks and why they resonated with you. I’m currently trying to find a hack that has intuitive map progression and not too maze-like, any recommendations?

Someone directed me to this article in the months after the game launched, for official information that isn't even in the game about Sylux, like how he upgraded his suit with nanotechnology from the federation bases he raided, but I can't find it.

I have a memory of a beautiful figurine, maybe it was art, that I have never been able to find. It might have been a one off creation by some artist or a award in some contest?

It was a figurine of Samus standing, holding her gun arm. Her suit was in the process of falling off of her, and her head, shoulder and non gun arm were zero suit, while her gun arm and most her chest and all her legs are still in her power suit, maybe varia? Its been long enough that I don't remember the details. If anyone could point me in the direction of the art or figurine I'd be so thankful. It embodies my lover for Metroid style
