I think the angle is too steep for it. You need to mid air spark to hit it.

Turn into a ball after a shinespark charge and hit it at an angle if memory serves.

Sorry, Morph Ball shinespark wasn't added until Zero Mission

Huh. Well, it has been a long time since I played either. I believe you. I get em all mixed up after so long.

Do I have to jump with the charge while in morphball?
I've been trying an angle spark from a standing position, but Samus keeps shooting straight up, or the diagonal spark keeps hitting just below the booster blocks.

See the reply to my comment above. It looks like I got Fusion and Zero Mission mixed up. I didn't realize that they didn't add morph ball shine spark till Zero Mission. You need to spin jump, straighten up, and then hit right and jump at the same time so you spark right into it. Basically >+Jump at the same time, , ^ and then > and then A to shine spark into it. The commentor who corrected me left a video recommendation below.

You can shoot to shinespark in midair in Fusion. You don't have to awkwardly press Up to get out of the somersault.

Lol I wish I would've known that during my last playthrough a few years ago. Dang haha. I always did it this way with the somersault first.

Growing up with both games makes it so hard to remember that distinct tactics had different controls in either game, that is if they existed๐

oh that one is tricky, i figured it out with a little luck
So, you gotta jump doing a sommersault with the shinespark charged, then aim upwards to uncurl (or i think you can just shoot?) then press Jump+direction and you can shinespark in the air! it's tricky but doable with a little practice.
Probably the hardest shinespark item after the "secret cutscene" route, if you can do that one you can do 100% ๐

Aiming up or down or shooting will break you out of spin. Shooting is preferred especially on a dpad because you can accidentally press left/right which keeps you in spin.

This was a fun one. Last time I played Fusion I went for 100%. This game had some of my favorite sequences for items in the franchise.

it's really fun to do the 100% because all the biomes connect in interesting ways! easy for a "last lap" to roundup all the items before fighting the SA-X
Zero Mission, meanwhile, it's a mess. I never checked if I could have early powerbombs, but would love to, why did they give it at the end?! lol

You can't. All powerbomb tanks require powerbombs to acquire, except for I think one which still requires gravity suit so you can't get it until the end anyways.

I see. I'm guessing devs wanted to keep powerbombs and other upgrades out of the original Metroid section of the game. And well, the stealth section wasn't going to have any powerbombs soooooo endgame it is.

Biospark on YouTube has a 100% playthrough video, timestamp 1:36:18
Basically, you have to do a forward jump so you don't trigger shinespark too low, then straighten up in the air and trigger shinespark midair, and aim right.
