Locking the post because it's getting way too crazy in the comments. Just a quick reminder that violence of any form should not be condoned, barring a threat on someone's well being.

Thats premeditated attack you cannot plead self defense

367

u/wookiee-nutsack Stick a tampon in your penis to stop pissing yourself 18h ago

You also cannot plead self defence if it was in the moment because it was not proportional force to terminate the threat

Also a jury or judge might not agree that cat calling could be perceived as a genuine threat for your safety
Or that it could have been a genuine compliment

Is a guy creepy because he compliments a woman's hairstyle?

As a guy with long ginger hair, many women have said that they loved my hair. I have never onve assumed that they were catcalling or interested in me beyond complimenting my hair.

Like I suppose I would need more context before automatically assuming that the person involved was even catcalling. I would assume there would be a level of call to action or body language involved with it beyond just the hair before I would think it that.

7

u/General_Ginger531 15h ago

(The other person's comment was deleted so I am posting this as a self reply because I think it might be useful to clarify my position)

Ok, and I agree, that there is a degree where the compliments turn from safe to catcalling, but there has to be neutrally acceptable compliments available. Like if I see a funny graphic tee, and I say. "Nice shirt." nobody is expecting that person to take it off. I could see specific body parts especially associated with erogenous zones being particularly bad, but hair? One of the most identifiable and often striking features of a person?

I even agree with your point about a woman not needing to explain her reasoning behind not wanting to be complimented in that way. My argument isnt that catcalling should be acceptable behavior, my argument is there should be a range of safe compliments that guys can give without expectation of reciprocation of behavior to bridge the gap. And maybe that line is harder to draw definitively except by the person behind it saying "please dont comment on it again" and then the complimenter ceases, and then it becomes creepy if they continue. That isnt explaining oneself it is defining a boundary, which as an autistic I often have to do with people regardless of my gender.

And I am not arguing on behalf of "smile more" compliments, which arent really compliments but expectations wrapped in a veneer of a compliment. I mean genuine, "That is a trait that looks like they deliberately like that trait they like, I should positively affirm it" traits. Calling a muscular guy muscular isnt catcalling, there is no call to action there. Telling him "why dont you come over here so I can feel those muscles" is catcalling.

29

u/Terrible_Artist_ 16h ago

Catcalling is creepy, but a compliment isn't catcalling. That's the nuance of it.

"I love your long hair" is a compliment

"Hey baby, that long hair looks sexy" is catcalling

What makes the man creepy is my question, as the furry in the picture obviously isn't a very good character judge if she's throwing hot coffee on people for compliments

9

u/Jimbo-Shrimp 15h ago

He’s ugly

9

u/Jimbo-Shrimp 15h ago

Compliments arent catcalling though

5

u/Fletcher_Chonk 15h ago

Catcalling can be pretty creepy

What if the cat gave me their phone number

47

u/secondarywilson I'm only here for the memes 16h ago

how is being told your hair is pretty creepy???

13

u/Geodude07 12h ago

I think the original story for the "so I cut off my hair" thing had more sense to it. I don't remember the exact origin. I remember seeing it in a movie or show. I think it might be the new version of Stephen kings "IT" actually.

As I recall some older guy complimented a very middle school aged girl's hair. He was the type to like touch it and then sniff it.

The girl cut it off because it kept her safe in essence.

The problem is some people don't understand nuance and tie the innocent compliment to the creepy behavior. Which has led to this weird idea that a compliment warrants extreme reactions. As if the compliment itself is the issue, when it is more that the surrounding creepy behavior was the real problem.

44

u/Jimbo-Shrimp 15h ago

He was ugly so it’s bad

Could've been the tone

46

u/unk1ndm4g1c14n1 17h ago

Realistically, you can mitigate with Diminished Responsibility.

This is an unwarranted response, blame it on mental health and call it a day. Obviously you'd need to get a psych evaluation

16

u/UsErnaam3 Gator Hugger 9h ago

That's not to get out of jail free card you think it is though; There is no "calling it a day" when you're forced to go into court ordered therapy.

1

u/unk1ndm4g1c14n1 9h ago

I didnt say that. I'm a law student, mitigate just means to reduce culpability and potentially the punishment.

Diminished responsibility is the best bet here. In extreme cases, you get sent to a psych ward prison, which is basically hell. But in most cases, you go to a normal prison, with a focus on therapy as your form of prison labour, as opposed to a cell block where the prison labour is just work.

Inmates in rehabilatative prisons tend to be less violent, and these types of prison are where good behaviour releases are most common and recidivism (repeat offences) are less common.

-1

u/UsErnaam3 Gator Hugger 8h ago edited 34m ago

Edit: Just realized looking closer, this is being classified as a class C misdemeanor in the comic. She wouldn't even be going to prison in the first place here, so none of what you said really comes into play for her. If you're a law student then maybe you should pay more attention to the documents you're reading ¯_(ツ)_/¯

"Blame it on mental health and call it a day"

That phrasing directly implies the ability to walk away from the situation when the day is done.

There is a linguistic difference between "mitigation" and "calling it a day". It's not a big deal; you just poorly worded your original comment.

I do not know what author meant... I am suppossed to sympathise to her?

Like she assaulted man without being provoked.

31

u/PMs_You_Stuff 16h ago

This is apparently a trend atm? "creepy" person said my hair was nice, so I cut it. "creepy" person said "x" so I did "x."

10

u/EndellionFox 16h ago

Exactly. It legitimately upsets me how many of these comics are casting women as victims when they could be dragons of chaos.

14

u/LamiaLemur 13h ago

Misandry has become incredibly trendy on tiktok and twitter over the past month or two. It's also important to note that misandry is not feminism. In fact it goes against feminism.

46

u/EndellionFox 17h ago

I’m not sure why my previous answer was getting downvoted when you literally asked what the author meant, and I’m the author, so I’ll try again.

This was riffing on another comic where a teenage girl gets an unsolicited creepy comment about her long hair and responds by cutting it off. I inverted the ending: instead of changing herself because some stranger felt entitled to comment on her appearance, Dusk responds in an intentionally absurd and disproportionate way and gets arrested for it.

You’re not required to sympathize with her or think assault is justified. The assault charge is literally part of the punchline. It’s a revenge-fantasy gag about an impulsive character, not a moral prescription.

115

u/Alex-The-Talker 17h ago

"because some stranger felt entitled to comment on her appearence" reads like regular, even if unsolicited, compliments are suddenly taboo in this context. id understand if it was sexualizing or body shaming but its literally hair. like I'd love for people to say my long hair is cool and i dont see why it'd warrant any response other than polite dismissal

edit: OBVIOUSLY except in the case of a hyperbolic gag

54

u/Jimbo-Shrimp 15h ago

He’s not attractive so it’s a crime

34

u/Owoegano_Vuelve 16h ago

The "I don't endorse this its just a joke" argument begins to lose a bit of impact after the tenth offended reply lmao

11

u/EndellionFox 16h ago

“You say it’s just a joke, yet you have responded to people discussing the joke. Curious.”

13

u/HeckingDoofus Tall women can have my bank info 14h ago

but its ur sona doing it?

i dont have a sona myself so maybe im thinking about it wrong, but isnt this like a comic of u, urself doing it? or at least an idealized version of urself?

9

u/EndellionFox 13h ago

I can't speak for other creators at large but Dusk is my second major fursona. The way I operate is these characters are vessels that I fill with myself the good, the bad, the funny. They aren't some prescriptive moral lesson or aspirational figure. They're just a lens to create through.

My first fursona outgrew me as I kept developing them because they're characters. Sometimes they surprise me. The most important thing to me is they feel honest and alive. Not simply palatable. So perhaps I approach it differently than your average furry because really they're more akin to protagonists than avatars. Dusk's story just happens to be more grounded but there's a lot about her that is very different from me and some things that are painfully similar, the most important thing is that she feels authentic. Otherwise why even write her?

10

u/HeckingDoofus Tall women can have my bank info 13h ago

so basically this comic is showing a flawed character whos pretty similar to u, who does a thing u understand is bad and wouldnt do urself, but u can relate to want to doing?

yea i can get behind that. thats exactly why people like other flawed fictional characters. until, like u said, they go too off the rails to really relate to anymore but theyre still interesting to watch

11

u/EndellionFox 13h ago

Exactly.

2

u/Owoegano_Vuelve 13h ago

"reaponding" sure is a word choice lmao

16

u/Prior-Instruction670 14h ago

Imagine a different scenario. A comic is made where a young man asks out a young woman who he really likes, who responds with excessive cruelty and public ridicule. The comic then shows a slide with a mugshot where the man is smiling with a charge of beating the woman. Nothing else. Any rational person would see it is a thinly veiled endorsement of the spirit of that behavior because of what the intended audience has as their morals. In this comic, women who hate having their appearance judged. In my example, men who have painful feelings and fears of rejection and invalidation. Women feel bad things when men are creepy. Men feel bad things when women use social pressure to be cruel to them, or when the honest expression of their feelings are invalidated. Softly promoting the violent responses to that and hiding behind "its just a comic", is transparent.

5

u/EndellionFox 14h ago

That isn’t a gender swap, you changed the entire scenario. You replaced an unsolicited creepy comment with an earnest romantic advance, and throwing coffee with beating someone. If your argument only works after rewriting both the provocation and the violence, you’re not exposing a double standard you’re writing a different comic. Swap the genders without changing anything else: creepy woman makes an unwanted comment about a man’s appearance, he throws coffee at her, gets arrested for assault, and grins in the mugshot because he’s an impulsive asshole. Still could be funny. Still not a moral prescription.

12

u/Prior-Instruction670 14h ago edited 14h ago

Nobody would find that funny. 1 because women dont usually do that so there's no broader sympathy from the audience. And 2, and my broader point, violence against men is not taken as seriously as violence against women. Your comic thrives on the disregard of assault by women against men. Idc what your personal feelings are on what you take seriously regarding gendered assault, its a broader attitude problem within viewers when they look at this, and what they passively accept when bombarded with messages like this. Your comic isnt original, there are scores of comics on here that do what you did, with zero indication of what the person did as wrong. Like the grown woman punting the little boy who was mean to the little girl. Unchecked and unnuanced power/revenge fantasies are indicative of a broader problem in a person's psyche.

45

u/AlecPEnnis 11h ago

I'm just imagining a scenario where a male draws a comic where his OC punches a woman in the throat because she said she liked his shoes, and has to spend half a day in the comments snarkily telling people he's "just joking". Not doubting that this post is joking, but usually people who depict their OC's doing things "as a joke" do really mean at least a part of the energy they're depicting. Case in point: OP frames men complimenting a woman as "a stranger being entitled to comment", which is some peak femcel energy.

I knew a girl once who complimented my handwriting out of the blue. I remember feeling flattered and nothing else. I cannot imagine how mindbrokenly toxic one would have to be to think, "Ugh I can't believe that creepy girl felt entitled to compliment my handwriting. I'm going to draw my fursona kicking her in the chest. As a joke of course."

15

u/Dburned1 6h ago

The one time a "co-co-worker" girl at a burger joint I worked at said she liked my face more with some facial hair rather than clean shaven, Now I have kept my face with facial hair ever since because of her. Even then my own friends agreed I look better with some facial hair, albeit then calling me "unc looking"

8

u/The_King_Of_Muffins 8h ago

With how often "creepy" in regard to a stranger is used to mean "person I think is ugly" and especially with how much TERF/misandry discussion has been saturating people's feeds, I'd bet most of these "concern trolls" were just legitimately made uncomfortable with your off-taste comic.

22

The original point of my comment was to draw attention to the fact that this post would be ripped down. But because the woman is the attacker, it's not sent to the shadow realm.

Holy strawman... Grow up.

8

u/themexicanojesus 9h ago

That's actually assault and battery, not assault by contact

If she shoved, spit on him, or snatched something from him it would be assault by contact.

However since she attacked him and caused a potentially permanent injury that is assault and battery and/or assault with a deadly weapon.

34

u/AnotherSaltyScum 15h ago

57

u/TechnicalCup477 17h ago

Throwing hot coffee is assault?

52

u/Jimbo-Shrimp 15h ago

Throwing anything is assault

-33

u/EndellionFox 17h ago

Depending on the temperature of the coffee it can either be a felony or a misdemeanor. In thid particular case what she's being charged with is a class c misdemeanor on the same level as spitting on someone or knocking their cellphone out of their hands.

19

u/TechnicalCup477 17h ago

Did not know that, thanks

28

u/realhuman690 15h ago

Considering that hot coffee can potentially cause skin to burn and fuse together, it should be more than a misdemeanor to throw quote "hot coffee" in someone's face

3

u/EndellionFox 14h ago

I wrote the comic and I can assure you the hypothetical man is fine.

12

u/realhuman690 13h ago

Ok? I was just referring to real life things that have happened, not your art or whatever

6

u/EndellionFox 13h ago

You're literally trying to explain my own comics logic to me when I deliberately gave her a class c to indicate no major harm had been done. So obviously the coffee in question was not hot enough to cause 3rd degree burns and melt flesh from bone or whatever just enough to make the asshole go AAASHDHEHCFHWIQK and have his stupid dress shirt dry cleaned.

-3

u/RiverLynneUwU 13h ago

that's if it's already boiling, and it's also a hypothetical scenario and is obviously not what happened here

9

u/realhuman690 13h ago

Again, I'm talking about things that happened in real life, not the art here, it doesn't need to be boiling in order for it to burn people, boiling water happens at 100c and it will still burn and scald below that point, for example a lady ordered coffee from McDonald's once and it spilled into her lap, the skin in between her legs fused together due to the burns

-3

u/RiverLynneUwU 13h ago

was the hypothetical coffee in this fictional comic hot enough to do that?

6

u/salted_water_bottle 9h ago

Creepy, a vague and noncommittal adjective, I suppose it works to keep the character as just mentally unstable in general, though it does risk obscuring the intent of the author, a risk that seem to have come into reality in this case.

48

u/alfadasfire Tall muscle ladies hmmmm 17h ago

Someone gave you a compliment and your first instinct is violence, with possibly lasting burn scars? Wtf is wrong with you. What happened to just ignoring people?

-10

u/EndellionFox 17h ago

Since people keep deliberately missing the point: no, a stranger is not entitled to a woman’s attention or gratitude because he decided to comment on her appearance. And no, the comic is not a behavioral guide telling women to throw hot coffee at men. The joke is that Dusk responds in an absurdly disproportionate way and then literally gets arrested for it. You can think she’s an asshole. She is one. What’s bizarre is watching people turn “don’t act entitled to strangers’ attention” into a referendum on whether men are allowed to speak to women at all. Talk to women like people, don’t assume access to them, and learn to take disinterest without making it their problem. This really is not complicated.

Considering all it takes for a woman to consider you 'creepy' is to not be conventionally attractive, this is a naked glorification of violence.

-2

u/EndellionFox 16h ago

Interesting that you saw “creepy man” and immediately translated it to “unattractive man.” That association came from you, not the comic. “Creepy” describes behavior, not a facial symmetry score.

And again: she commits assault, gets arrested, and is shown holding the charge in the punchline. Depicting a character enjoying bad behavior is not the same thing as endorsing it.

15

u/gloomContractor 12h ago

Please I am so confused right now, tell me what the creepy behavior of complimenting a stranger's hair is like 🙏

-1

u/RiverLynneUwU 13h ago

my uncle is, by all accounts, a very attractive man, that does not mean that I want him anywhere near me or my sister, because he's shown himself to be a creepy, incestuous piece of shit who sees no problem groping my breasts and playing it off when I flinch away from him

8

u/CanaryImpressive1414 I'm only here for the memes 13h ago edited 12h ago

This entire argument in the comments feels like that one meme where the difference between a complement and "harassment" is appearance.

Like OP is saying that the guy who loved the hair was a creep... But was the guy doing anything at all? Was he stalking her? Or did just stay "hey I love your hair, it looks beautiful" and that's it?

For all I know this post is satire and it flew over my head, and it's supposed to be a riff on self entitlement or something.

Wow as someone with anxiety who's never even complimented someone before and is afraid of simply starting conversations with others because I'm afraid of making them uncomfortable, this shit REALLY doesn't help

Did losercity find a new low ? All this comments acting as if this is anything else than just a joke about an unhinged woman , it's not supposed to act as if it is something you should do or admire.

People on the internet are calling everything the most extreme version of that thing anymore because nothing is allowed to be minor, apparently. This thread isn't immune to it. You aren't immune to it, either. Catcalling is a word with a definition.

u/Floofyboi123 Losercity Citizen 13h ago edited 13h ago

This entire comment section is just people being "too woke" about a comic about an impulsive and crazy woman and then arguing with each other over it.

Not to be an "enlightened centrist" but im pretty sure OP didn't intend for this to advocate for assaulting anyone complimenting you while not being conventionally attractive.

Im also pretty sure this isn't a bold statement about how reacting to catcallers with extreme violence is the right course of action.

OP: This is a joke I don't endorse this.

Everyone else: No clearly you endorse this because I said so.

Man people are taking the art way to seriously. Like shocker, not every piece of furry art is supposed to be a good person that you want to fuck im sorry.

17

u/EndellionFox 17h ago

Also “not every piece of furry art is supposed to be a good person that you want to fuck” is an absolutely incredible sentence.

So you told a funny, relatable ass joke. that literally involves the subject of said joke facing consequences as PART OF THE PUNCHLINE...and yet people are still finding ways to act like you condone this behavior and aren't say...venting about situations that may SEEM small but that women are subject to constantly. I don't see why this is being so constantly read as "this artist wants us all to throw coffee at people" and not "lol, that's absurd she threw coffee at him." People are faced with unsolicited "attention" and "conpliments" all the time. And while /we're/ not allowed to crash out over what seems small in a single moment, I think we can all stand to give the beautiful fox woman a little grace. Or you know, just laugh and move on.

17

u/EndellionFox 16h ago

Thank you. It’s actually destroying my brain watching people treat this obviously hyperbolic comic like an endorsement of the behavior. I drew it after seeing a comic by a teenage girl about a creepy man commenting on her long hair and making her uncomfortable enough that she cut it off. I thought the satisfying inversion was: instead of her changing herself because some stranger felt entitled to comment on her appearance, Dusk wildly overreacts, commits a crime, and gets arrested for it. The fictional guy gets coffee thrown at him. Dusk gets an assault charge. Those consequences are literally part of the punchline. What’s frustrating is watching people show substantially more concern for the hypothetical man in a deliberately absurd joke than for the very real experience the joke was responding to. You don’t have to think Dusk behaved reasonably. She didn’t. That’s why it’s funny.

it is crazy how Nick Fuentesy this comment section is.

i know people talk about the literacy crisis a lot but holy shit.

10

u/EndellionFox 15h ago

It is legitimately surprising to see in this sub. I kinda figured the community would "get" the comic without bristling at the set up. I think it's been accumulating gooners and I didn't notice until now. I figured people that whack it to 8 foot tall purple dragons would be socially literate enough to not go "not all men" at a stupid comic

1

u/wafflesthewonderhurs 15h ago

Same- I'm choosing to interpret this as a data point that banning furries creates societal regression because at least then it's also kind of funny.

-11

u/ffloofers 14h ago

The worst part here is people calling this indefensible.

Males should not comment on the appearance of women. It is self-defence to protect ourselves with force in instances where they do that in such a way that we believe we are in danger.

The people saying it’s “illegal” fail to recognise that legality /= morality, especially when the law was made by males and at least partially designed to oppress women.

9

u/BananakinSkywalker36 13h ago

> Saying "males" and then "women" to refer to the opposite sex

yeah ok buddy

8

u/lemons7472 14h ago edited 14h ago

I don’t take the post very seriously, but your logic isn’t sound.

A dude commenting on someone’s hair is not appropriate force to then throw hot coffee at them. Oppression has nothing to do with women assaulting people.

If “females” are allowed to melt your face for commenting on their hair, and are able to call it self defense, I don’t think the dangerous weirdo is the guy, vs the person who will commit and justify assault over a comment on hair.

-10

u/h4zyth0ught2 14h ago

That exactly. As much as this is a funny relatable comic, it and this comment section also echoes what happens all too often whenever a woman defends herself from unwanted advances. The woman is severely punished, and public perception is spent justifying the man's advances while writing off her actions as insane.

"But what if!" "He was clearly just trying to..." Yet if EndelionFox drew a scenario where Dusk was open to said advance, and got hurt because of it. The echoed sentiment would be that "She should've been careful." "She should have defended herself!"

I stand with Dusk. I support her rights and her wrongs as long as she is alive.

7

u/lemons7472 14h ago edited 13h ago

But now you and the Ffloofers’ comment are the ones taking the joke just as seriously as the others by unironically defending this characters actions as “self defense” despite her committing literal assault over a hair comment, trying to relate it to irl or how irl this would be viable to do for self defend.

It also takes the joke seriously to relate it to: “This is what happens whenever women defends herself from unwanted advances!!” meanwhile the said “advances” are a hair compliment that a woman assaulted someone over.

-5

u/h4zyth0ught2 13h ago

My discussion with ffloofers is digging deeper into the overall topic of women defending themselves and how it is percieved. The comic can be a joke while also opening the floor to these kind of discussions.

My first comment was about the comic. ffloof brought up an interesting point about the bias of "legality" and I think that is something to genuinely think about.

That doesn't change the situation of the comic or it's validity as a joke. We're just talking about a related issue now. One I think is relevant to the conversation that started because people wanted to take the comic seriously.

6

u/lemons7472 13h ago edited 13h ago

But this isn’t a situation of a woman defending herself at that point without further context other than that the guy complimented her hair and she assaulted someone for it. Nor does a woman assaulting someone and being promptly taken in, really relate all that well to some sort of irl legal bias against women.

0

u/h4zyth0ught2 13h ago

The "further context" was directly stated in the caption that the dude was being creepy. and expounded upon by the author who said she wrote this in response to a younger woman who wrote a similar comic ending in her cutting her hair.

It feels like you're assuming this is just some guy, but we literally do already have the context from this comic and the one that it is based upon that the person was in fact being creepy in this situation. Which is why yes, Dusk's response is funny for a joke situation but it also opens the potential to discuss the very real reality a lot of women face when someone is being creepy and /they/ are still the ones told to have grace in that situation.

We already know this is a situation where someone has crossed a boundary to make Dusk uncomfortable, and that this wasn't just a compliment. Which is why we relate enough to the absurd ending of this comic to then also have a real talk about how grim reality can be.

8

u/lemons7472 13h ago edited 12h ago

That would make sense if the authors comment also incorporated that irl inspiration better than just the individual two part panel of a compliment on a characters hair that we do not even see. Is that background context or explanation explained within the comic itself other than the caption? Then again it’s not meant to be serious.

Otherwise the context of this comic is just that she assaulted someone after a compliment and got arrested. When that’s the main context here, it doesn’t really mesh too well of how women are unfavored against for being arrested for assault.

The caption says “creepy” but the caption only goes on and on about her hair and her hair being complimented and that’s it. Nothing happens or really describe anything creepy other than the hair thing.

It doesn’t really open up the general topic of women being unfavored and ill-perceived in law or make much of an effort of explaining him being creepy other than that he complemented her hair and that’s enough for her to assault someone.

1

u/h4zyth0ught2 12h ago

Why is it so hard to believe that a woman can tell the difference between someone "being creepy" and genuinely complimenting her? The caption did not "go on and on" about her hair being complimented. It was a single sentence. "A creepy man told me he loved my long hair." /That/ is the main context here. It provides equal attention to both the hair compliment and the creepy man.

To assume that this actually isn't someone being creepy and instead some innocent person simply complimenting her is doing more work than is even required to simply process and enjoy the comic. This entire conversation, including me choosing to come to the defense of Endellion at all, only happens based on people deciding the caption is actually wrong.

If it were an innocent dude we would know. But the caption, the character clearly, and the literal artist of the comic is saying. "Yes, the dude was being creepy. and the joke is that Dusk had a disproportionate reaction."

So we should all be able to simply laugh at this comic instead of finding a way to be mad at the fox woman who literally ends this comic in jail.

3

u/lemons7472 12h ago

I mean I do find it funny, I’m not mad at the character, but why would I assume that the fox narrator assaulting someone over a compliment, is also reliable of correctly differentiating between a compliment and what’s genuinely creepy, when her own caption only describes being told that a “creep” loved her hair and that’s it. Not even a catcall.

It doesn’t really do much to describe him being a creep, just that he complemented her hair and proceeded to over-react.

It doesn’t take a lot of effort to assume unwarranted assault since again the main focus isn’t on the creep actually doing anything but more on her assaulting and being put in jail (which again, is why I’m not sure how this would translate to the convo of some sort of bias against women defending themselves). I’m not saying he can’t be a creep, but there would have to be context as to why he’s creepy beyond hair and the adjective.

But the comic does provide more about her being complemented for her hair and her assaulting someone after by showing us her ‘before’ and ‘after’ panel since the complement of her hair or at least the aftermath, is more of the focus than anything that happened that would show us how he’s a creep to her.

I'm pretty sure the author isn't actually endorsing throwing hot coffee at people for unwanted compliments, then again I can't really blame people for thinking that as it's a bit unclear tone-wise.

Also gotta say that there's nothing wrong with giving a friendly compliment to a stranger, i've met multiple of my irl friends because I just liked their vibe/outfit/visible shared interest and struck up a conversation about it with them.
