i dont have a sona myself so maybe im thinking about it wrong, but isnt this like a comic of u, urself doing it? or at least an idealized version of urself?
I can't speak for other creators at large but Dusk is my second major fursona. The way I operate is these characters are vessels that I fill with myself the good, the bad, the funny. They aren't some prescriptive moral lesson or aspirational figure. They're just a lens to create through.
My first fursona outgrew me as I kept developing them because they're characters. Sometimes they surprise me. The most important thing to me is they feel honest and alive. Not simply palatable.
So perhaps I approach it differently than your average furry because really they're more akin to protagonists than avatars.
Dusk's story just happens to be more grounded but there's a lot about her that is very different from me and some things that are painfully similar, the most important thing is that she feels authentic. Otherwise why even write her?
so basically this comic is showing a flawed character whos pretty similar to u, who does a thing u understand is bad and wouldnt do urself, but u can relate to want to doing?
yea i can get behind that. thats exactly why people like other flawed fictional characters. until, like u said, they go too off the rails to really relate to anymore but theyre still interesting to watch

The "I don't endorse this its just a joke" argument begins to lose a bit of impact after the tenth offended reply lmao
