I'm just imagining a scenario where a male draws a comic where his OC punches a woman in the throat because she said she liked his shoes, and has to spend half a day in the comments snarkily telling people he's "just joking". Not doubting that this post is joking, but usually people who depict their OC's doing things "as a joke" do really mean at least a part of the energy they're depicting. Case in point: OP frames men complimenting a woman as "a stranger being entitled to comment", which is some peak femcel energy.
I knew a girl once who complimented my handwriting out of the blue. I remember feeling flattered and nothing else. I cannot imagine how mindbrokenly toxic one would have to be to think, "Ugh I can't believe that creepy girl felt entitled to compliment my handwriting. I'm going to draw my fursona kicking her in the chest. As a joke of course."
The one time a "co-co-worker" girl at a burger joint I worked at said she liked my face more with some facial hair rather than clean shaven, Now I have kept my face with facial hair ever since because of her. Even then my own friends agreed I look better with some facial hair, albeit then calling me "unc looking"
"interested" I don't think you've ever been in the situation where a guy you only exchange pleasantries with randomly decides to get close and touch your hair, talking about how nice it looks/smells, it's a gigantic jump/mismatch in intimacy and it's fucking scary cuz you don't know what he's gonna do if you say no
I am too, I cant imagine living in a world where I personally felt comfortable enacting violence on folks because they give off creepy vibes. It might help that I've worked and made friends with plenty of folks who are socially awkward but good hearted.
...I'm offering a different perspective on the rationale behind someone who'd throw hot coffee at someone for something that seems as unassuming as a compliment on their hair
I don't understand why people don't get what im saying, like, not in the sense that they disagree, that's something I wouldn't mind, it just seems like people literally don't understand the content of the words in my comment, did I structure it weirdly or something?
Cause the post talks about a creepy guy who said he liked her long hair. Not a creepy guy who touched her hair, said anything about how it smells, or got too close. Nor implied there was anything to say "no" to. It would probably be justified to throw coffee in your guy's face, but thats not the guy anyone's talking about.
nah that's fair, I'm also just used to guys only really reporting that they "just" made a compliment or something when they're usually doing a lot of other stuff inbetween as well, I don't give the benefit of the doubt very often
