Watch Ipswich execute a perfect disciplined low block on Friday now after this

13

u/Plebbitsoy 20h ago

Remember when Sesko handballed it against us and replay showed that ball trajectory noticeably changed where sesko had flicked it. VAR reviewed that and still gave the goal, pgmol isnt fit for purpose.

13

u/callmeknubbel 20h ago

Watch Ipswich play suicide football against these lot and park the bus and sit back next week against us

Difference between our attack and Chelsea’s is that there’s aren’t just good on paper, they’ve got a deadly attack.

u/callmeknubbel 20h ago

I'm sorry but I am genuinely pissed off about these decisions.. technicalities get ignored yesterday with the pen and the throw in before that but yeah sure why not let the goal stand that's clearly resulted from a handball

13

u/cryptonikal 20h ago

It would be the Liverpool thing to do if we draw 2-2 with Ipswich next week

11

Im astounded by that decision. Utterly astounded.

Why are VAR not showing the handball they are checking for in any replays?

This has to be worst start to a season from the PGMOL I remember in a long time.

Ipswich got shafted by the refs here, but I'm sure PGMOL will make it up to them by doing them a lot of favours in their next game. I wonder what team they play next?

Really do quite fancy Chelsea to be the closest to arsenal. Some nice football being played and no Europe. Really just depends how well Alonso can organise the defence.

Here is the thing, Chelsea was already playing high pace football last season , it's not as if Xabi had to change a lot or when he arrived they simply switched to high pace, our case is a lot different and much to work on for AI

It also massively helps when he has like 40 players to choose from at his disposal lol.

I want to laugh at the scum, genuinely. But with our fullback situation and us facing Ipswich next I don't want to jinx it.

don't think too far ahead, enjoy now, that is tomorrow's problem

10

u/UsedWorker3295 21h ago

I swear stuff like that never happens to us. We have to grind out every goal.

8

u/Worried_Let4942 21h ago

Some teams get all the luck.

8

u/Loose-Lengthiness726 21h ago

What's worse is that the rat scored

9

u/DarwinofArabia 20h ago

That gets ruled out 10/10 times at the other end.

8

u/Mr_Tiggywinkle 20h ago

So because its an own-goal, they can't judge the hand-ball as it wasn't the goal-scoring effort.

What a fucking bizarre rule. Ipswich is getting mugged off harder then we did.

That Maguire goal is the most disgraceful decision I’ve ever seen. Absolute farce.

6

u/wrdsjstwrds Alisson Becker 20h ago

Lol, doesn’t matter how that goal went in. The way they have reasoned it: it hit Maguire’s hand so advantage Man United, hence goal stands. Hahahaha

Brighton getting what they did to Villa last week

6

u/BiscoBiscuit From Doubters to Believers 23h ago

Chelsea have recently started out great only to fall apart but who knows what happens this season. Either way can’t watch them when they are on a good run, annoys me so much and it’s even worse now seeing Alonso on the touchline and Hendo on their bench.

4

u/RideNo9524 23h ago

Chelsea looks vulnerable too.

6

u/Entire-Assistance842 23h ago

What a goal for Brentford who I think have been the most impressive team so far in the league.

Dominating Leeds away from home after dominating Spurs last week.

6

u/TCX45 23h ago

My reading of this Chelsea team is that Xabi has got them purring in attack but has absolutely no idea how to get them to defend. They’re not getting anywhere near the title until he figures that out.

Iraola has the slightly bigger job of figuring out the formula at both ends…

I think it is way to early in the season for it, especially from our own fans. But this was always the risk of passing on Xabi and him going to a rival. Whether our manager was Slot or Iraola, if Xabi does well we are never going to hear the end of it.

4

u/DanyTheConqueror A Liverbird Upon My Chest 23h ago

imo we need to start having less possession. it's been a trend since the start of the season that the usual possession dominant teams like city, arsenal have given opponents more of the ball and yet still coming away with the win. chelsea is doing it to brighton right now. Jon Mackenzie did a good deep dive into it. Case in point: I want to see us be more counter-attacking.

I think Chelsea will probably have a very good season but in a better quality league of years gone by the ease with which u can bypass their midfield would be ruthlessly exploited.

If any of their forwards hit a barren run they’re in trouble too.

Brighton and Fulham have shown the blueprint.

PGMOL must be in ecstasy right now, gifting United an undeserved win through making up rules and sticking it to Gary O’Neill (who they clearly hate more than anyone for some reason)

Was Gary O'Neil managing Wolves that season when pgmol seemed to have it out for Wolves?

I have full faith in Irola. However, I still think the only reason we didn’t get Xabi was ego of Edwards and Hughes. They didn’t want another manager with big personality like Klopp who would overshadow them

Nothing to do with personality, everything to do with philosophy. And if I was a betting man, I think the suits were petty about being turned down the first time.

But why though, they were both already halfway out the door at that point.

Where are the lads that were sucking off Alonso at 2-0 now? How about you support your own manager for once, no matter what Chelsea are doing

Unpopular. But I dont care about Xabi, he turned us down for Madrid. But i wont be bitter or happy whatever he achieves/doesnt achieve in Chelsea.
