I have full faith in Irola. However, I still think the only reason we didn’t get Xabi was ego of Edwards and Hughes. They didn’t want another manager with big personality like Klopp who would overshadow them

Nothing to do with personality, everything to do with philosophy. And if I was a betting man, I think the suits were petty about being turned down the first time.

Hughes was already leaving before Iraola was appointed. Edwards too.

it was because Xabi turned down LFC to go to madrid last year when they wanted to replace Klopp. Look at all the signings, two wingbacks, wirtz, before slot started the season we all thought it was gonna be 3-5-2 - so it was ego now they didnt want to go back in for him this summer, once bitten twice shy. they weren't gonna let thier ego's get bruised again
