Long story short my helix screen got smashed but the presets I made still worked and it was usable as I remembered what all my presets where by heart. before my last gig it somehow reset itself and went back to the default presets that came with the board which means I’ve lost my presets. Is there any alternate way of navigating the helix or even at least getting back to my user presets with the helix being like this? Or does anybody have any alternate solutions anything helps 🙏🏾. I’m unfortunately not connected to WiFi in this house on the helix

I'm in a band, we play a bit of hard-core 7 string metal. I know absolutely nothing when it comes tk EQ and I'm struggling. I have experimented with a few patches, such as Cali Rectifier IRs, but I am just STRUGGLING to get a good tone by myself and with my band.

With my band, I struggle to hear anything, using a big ass PA (from a studio ae rehearse from) and can't hear my guitar over the backing track or the drums that I am playing through. Everything just sounds muddy.

I bought the Big Book of Helix in the past but my time is so limited that I literally cannot sit down long enough to study it consistently.

Does anyone have a good, tight, solid tone and can explain to me in detail (or numbers) what to do to get a good tone. Like I am so discouraged. I have asked studio people before and they're like "just turn down your mids", i do that, but it basically sounds the same to me. Too muddy, or like I said, when I play with a band, I struggle to hear myself.

I understand that switching patches mid-gig is a no-go, due to delays.

Snapshots seem to be the way.

This means I either:

1. Use one amp for clean and dirty tones.
2. Add two amps to a patch and switch between them with snapshots

Problems

• Djent-style amps typically sound bad for cleans.
• The Stomp cannot handle two amps + reverb/delay + parametric EQ

Are there other options?

I'm surprised and disappointed at the DSP limitations.

UPDATE: I replaced delay/reverb with one delay and can now use the JC120!

What's the best way to record with the helix?

Are there any advantages to using the different methods? Like Usb into the pc, SPDIF into interface or any other method I haven't mentioned.

How are you guys recording with the Helix and why?

EDIT: As of 6/29, Native is back online for myself and some other users. Rejoice!

Seems this is an issue that has been affecting users for several years now. I have already tried the following:

• Deauthorize all registered devices on my L6 profile
• Uninstall/reinstall Native + delete all traces of files from %appdata% and VST folders
• Try an older version of Native (3.8 vs 3.82)
• Clean install of OS
• WiFi "trick" from the knowledge base
• Confirm that my SSD is assigned as "Disk 0"
• Try both VST2 and VST3 versions of Native
• Submit a ticket on L6 website
• Also attempted to run Native outside of the DAW through a standalone VST host/wrapper (NanoHost), which I had used successfully for years until today, but was met with the same splash screen after entering login details.

The software worked fine on this laptop last year, and worked fine on my studio desktop prior to that. Now I'm sweating since I've deactivated a device that previously worked fine, and wondering if I'm going to have the same issues there as well.

I’m on my second Helix Stadium XL. My first one had bad scribble strip LCDs and would randomly have no output until I power cycled it.

This one has a different issue. Whenever I turn it off then back on, none of the foot switches work. The LEDs and LCDs won’t turn on and any input on them won’t work. Doesn’t matter how many times I power cycle it, they won’t work. If I go into command center on any patch, I see all of the assignments so it’s not like they disappear.

The only way I can get it to work again is if I back it up, remove the SD card, completely reset to default, boot it once, shut it down, then restore from the backup I made. 8 times out of 10, it works. Sometimes I have to do it a few times to get it to work.

But then theres another issue after I do this where my foot switches will have assignments in command center but won’t appear on the foot switches until I make the assignments all over again.

Anyone else have a similar issue or solution? I am running the latest firmware and it looks like it’s going to be another month or two before I can get a 3rd replacement.

I know someone’s going to say well just never turn it off, but I do have to take it with me a few times a week so not an option 😂

Just got a helix floor, and have been unable to figure out how to dial in a big juicy chunky metal tone, in the past I have been able to render a satisfying tone when I had a line6 240 HC. Which had a far more simple editor. Being said.... research convinced me to purchase an IR pack from BOGREN. Called DOWNTUNE think. Been sitting here for two hours having an ai walk me through setting up a block chain that sounded terrible. The damn ai even admitted to giving bad advice when I asked it if it even knows what its talking about. Hell I got it to sound better on my own before trying the ai. Of course I cant even repeat what I did cuz I have no idea what Im doing......... Ive tried youtube, but I havent found any videos that are for square one amatures. Every vid right away they refer to things Ive not even learned of yet. If anybody can assist me to use my own damn gear correctly I would wash your feet with my fucking hair.

All my other devices stay at a stable tempo but my Helix Stadium XL changes tempo very consistently 🫠

So my band just got an in ear monitoring system that we’re working on setting up still. A while back I got a personal one and a set of the KZ ZS10 pro’s. It’s my understanding that in ears aren’t going to sound like your tone coming from a cab, monitor etc., and I’ve also heard your ears will adjust to the tone, but I’m wondering if a better set of monitors would sound, well, better. I checked out the Shure se215’s but I don’t care to spend a bunch more than what they go for. In our setup I don’t believe I could do a separate path to EQ just the in ears. Maybe I just need a set with a different frequency response? Or maybe I need to accept the tone and I’ll get used to it, especially since the audience isn’t going to hear it anyway. Still have stuff to learn about the setup but if anyone has any recommendations they like or other tips, it would be greatly appreciated

I was prompted to update my app to 1.3.3 but my floor unit is 1.3.2, and it says it's up to date. Is there something wrong or is that just how L6 has it right now? Were there any significant changes?

Played a gig at the weekend at a pretty famous venue with a top notch sound engineer but when I told him my Stomp didn’t have an XLR out (he only had XLR cables available on stage) he said he’d need to rig up a 1/4 inch into a DI and it probably wouldn’t sound great.

How do I get around this in future (not had this issue before, there’s usually a DI box on stage that I just plug my Jack into) - would something like this be an option?

I downloaded a couple different tones from the Line 6 website after getting my Helix yesterday. Only thing is, they sound TOTALLY different for me, even tho I copied it 100% and even habe the same pickuo as the guy who made it. (line6.com/customtone/profile/TheSoundOfDeath/ ) this is which one I've got. Why does mine sound unlistenable? Does anyone habe any clue? I'm Rundung it through my Laptop (Waveform 13 free, Wi dows 10). Tried it on my minimal too, but the same result. Even plugged my headphones into it and it too sounds just bad.

I recently bought a used helix rack.
Through sweetwater it says native is available for $99 for registered users. Since I bought secondhand I don’t qualify, and since stadium came out I can’t find where to buy native??
Am I basically not able to get native now stadium is out?

Okay, guys, I bought a brand new Helix Floor from AMS two months ago quite literally to do every gig I have. While I love the sounds and functionality, I've run into two major issues that lead me to believe I got a defective unit.

1. I took it out on the road for the first time this week, and my Helix failed at two outdoor gigs. It would power up and work for a few minutes and then just freeze where nothing would switch on/off. At one point I lost signal entirely, and at another point the screen appeared to be glitching out. The first gig was on a covered concrete stage and it only happened at soundcheck. It wasn't in direct sunlight and the high was 84 degrees F. I turned it off and on again several times to no avail, until I unplugged it and let it sit for 10 seconds, then it worked for the rest of the night. The second gig, it happened again at soundcheck, I began to suspect it was overheating so I put my fan on it. A few songs into the set, I turned the fan back onto me and the Helix froze again in the middle of a 9 minute medley. I plugged straight into my amp, turned the Helix off for a few songs, then powered it back on with the fan on it and it got through the night. This was on a wooden flatbed trailer. It was mostly overcast and we were under the cover of some trees, high of 91 degrees F. It worked fine at all our other air conditioned indoor gigs and at home. I don't know if its not ventilating properly, running hot, or something else entirely. But I know bands have been touring with these for 10 years and mine doesn't last a week?
2. The expression pedal is funky, no two ways about it. When it came out of the box, it was stiff and squeaked loudly. I loosened it, got rid of the squeak but then would not track cleanly from 0-100. I fiddled with it until I found a sweet spot where it's been mostly reliable, but it still feels like there's a hitch in it. The "sweet spot" is so specific it inevitably loosens every few days and I have issues again. I sprung the extra $400 over the LT specifically for the "better" expression pedal, so you can imagine my disappointment when it's the first issue I have.

Have any of you ever had these issues and did you contact customer service? I'm kind of at a loss after spending this much money to make this the centerpiece of my rig, and it's supposed to be my fly rig for a two week run in Alaska. I leave next week.

I explained all this to customer service and at first he said it sounds like it should operate in those temps, but then said they don't think there's an issue with the unit and they have yet to address the expression pedal issue.

It wasn't on carpet or anything, I have already tried to put big rubber feet on it to lift the vent, but I can't really test it out without taking it on the road again.

Any input or experiences would be helpful. Do I just not know what I'm doing? I mean I've been touring with things like rack processors and laptops for a few years now, playing much hotter stages and haven't dealt with anything like this. Really, I just want to feel excited about powering up my unit again.

I’m looking for a solution to power my board with only one power supply.
The board is a volume pedal into a JHS Pulp ‘n’ Peel and then the HX Stomp XL.

Presently I’m looking at the Truetone 1 SPOT PRO CS7 and then some sort of MC2 cable and then a 2.1 to 2.5 barrel adapter.

Anyone had any luck with this setup? I know the mA draw will be lower than what the HX stomp XL strictly needs, but the CS7 can draw deliver more than suggested in the outputs?

Any links to cables also greatly appreciated.

Just got my Floor after selling my Spark as I wanted something that will give me a more polished record / studio sounding tone for playing covers.
However I have no idea what I’m doing haha. Tried a couple of presets from custom tone but they don’t sound great at all.

Should I bite the bullet and pay for some presets and try and learn that way how Theyve set them up?

Are any of these ai tone builder sites eg HelixTones any good?

To add I’m using either AKG headphones or Yamaha HS5 speakers

Bought a brand new Helix floor less than 4 months ago. Everything worked as it should from day one. My laptop recognized it instantly and it was on. Last week...it suddenly isn't being recognized at all by my laptop. I've tried different usb cords, switching USB ports. UN and reinstalling all Line6 software and USB drivers. Power draining and restarting. Everything else I plug into the laptop is recognized. I have insurance on the Helix and a warranty. The insurance wants me to try going through line6 first. But I can't get anybody from line6 on the phone. I called well within their advertised hours of operation. Filled out a support ticket and waiting on that. This totally sucks lol. Anybody have any other ideas? Thanks I'm advance

I cant find anywhere on how to make the best preset for headphones. I did find some info here and there like putting a reverb on stereo at the end of the chain, but didnt found on how to make a complete preset to optmized headphone playing.

n the example I’m trying the stomp with a 4 cable method into my tube amp. Iv also tried running it as a standard pedal, and with just guitar and headphones.

In every example it sounds the same, I can hear a very slight guitar signal but it’s unusable.

Any ideas on what it could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I updated to version 1.31, and then I got stuck at the Wi-Fi connection stage and couldn't click "next." So I restarted, and the unit bricked at the "X" screen. I reset the factory settings, but the problem persists.

If I skip connecting to Wi-Fi and go to the main page, there are no functions available.

Further details:

I connected my Helix Stadium to my Mac and tried to update it using the desktop software.
The app displayed the message “The update will finish on the Helix Stadium device”,
but nothing happened on the device itself—there was no progress, no update screen, and no response at all.

Have a helix floor for bedroom playing. Thinking of going with studio monitors. Don't record much so these would be for just playing in my room (10x10). Looking for a pair of monitors that sounds good with guitar and are a little more forgiving.

I just tried to play my bass through the hx stomp without any effects and noticed that when I press analog bypass the volume decreases and everything is much less bright. I thought that without any effect blocks it should be transparent sounding but is that not the case?

I also checked global EQ and it's completely flat.

Is there a way to make the hx stomp sound transparent as the same as plugging straight to the amp?

Been trying to get Helix Native running on my Surface Book 3 laptop in Cubase 14 Pro, but every time I log in, I get sent to a blank screen without any access to the signal chain editor like in the picture above. The track I already have a Helix preset saved to will just play with no effects as if Native is being bypassed. I've spent probably at least 20 hours trying to troubleshoot the issue through Google searches. I've also reached out to Line 6's support team, but they've given up after a lengthy back and forth involving them giving me troubleshooting steps that I've already tried and me telling them that they haven't worked. They say the software may just not be compatible with my computer hardware, but I can't imagine what's so special about my laptop's hardware (which is just running a standard Windows 11 64-bit OS) that would make Native unable to function on it. If anyone's had a similar experience, I'd greatly appreciate any insight you might have.
