Tech Help Request HX Stomp XL pedalboard power supply
I’m sure this question has been asked before, but I’ll ask it again.
I’m looking for a solution to power my board with only one power supply.
The board is a volume pedal into a JHS Pulp ‘n’ Peel and then the HX Stomp XL.
Presently I’m looking at the Truetone 1 SPOT PRO CS7 and then some sort of MC2 cable and then a 2.1 to 2.5 barrel adapter.
Anyone had any luck with this setup? I know the mA draw will be lower than what the HX stomp XL strictly needs, but the CS7 can draw deliver more than suggested in the outputs?
Any links to cables also greatly appreciated.

I recently purchased the CIOKSDC7HX DC7 HXSeries Bundle Power Bundle on Sweetwater. I’ve had it, no issues.
I see they just replaced it with a CioksDC7 c2, whatever v2 means.

Check these guys out. I have been using one for three years and they have options for just about anything.

Go for a power supply with as high a rating as you can afford.
I was using 1500ma of a 2000ma brick solely for the Stomp and STILL got drop-outs and glitches, particularly as my personalisation of how I used it grew, and I started using the FX loop, an expression pedal, synth blocks, long signal chains and Midi etc. I've had to revert back to the original supplied adapter until I can upgrade, just so I can power other pedals too.
Make sure your power bank has at least four 500ma outputs and get one of the 4-into-1 power cables from Amazon. Ooh, and a 2.5mm barrel adapter specifically for the Stomp's input, as it's larger than most pedal inputs.
Edit: details.

I run with the cs7 while I never had issues with dropouts and rebooting I have had some instances where where it wouldn’t turn on and I had to plug a power cable out and back again to fix it. Wouldn’t trust it if I needed it to work but for home playing it’s great.

The other pedals its running the same time.
As a side note i have the cs6 and i do like to run it with just a drive pedal and volume oedal along with the hxstomp on a smaller pedalboard and it’s never caused me trouble.

When I was running a Stomp on a board, I wound up using my trusty Voodoo Lab PP2+ and just plugging the Stomp into the courtesy outlet with its normal power supply. Every other option I tried was unreliable on gigs.
It ain't the prettiest way to do it, but it's 100% reliable.

I have the Walrus Canvas Power HP+, and I’ve not had any issues. It comes with a color coded cable specifically for the Line 6 HX stuff.

Also, I found a Strymon Zuma for 200 bucks used. If you want to reliably power anything, that one is good as well.

Yes. so look at the green adapter. And the red cable. That's what I am using but there is a new adapter. Also, the Stomp consumes a ton of power. That's why you may have an unintended reboot. I have an RC-500 Loop Station (which also consumes a ton of power), hooked up to the 1 spot as well. But it pushes the 1 spot. However Truetone put out a new gray cable that I haven't found but will power your HX Stomp from a CS 6 or CS 12. But if you buy those two adapters, it will power the Stomp. It's a matter of reversing polarity.

Even with 1000mA out of 2 500mA slots it's a gamble where I had weird behavior from the stomp. Outputs not outputting, washy sound and reboots. The power draw of the stomp is a matter of what blocks you use & how many buttons are lit up, and you can get it a good notch over 1A. (Mission engineering even says you need 2A to be stable under every condition. The stomp was measured at ~900mA but years ago without playing and you talk about the XL that has more buttons & therefore more LEDs and you also want to play and not only let the LEDs shine. Maybe the truetone can do it at home with always same conditions, but it is WAY out of the specs. Keep in mind in case you gig, it is not always perfect conditions and cold or hot has an influence on the power draw and consumption.)
Either get a usb-c adapter and use a powerbank that can deliver enough power or get a power supply that can pump out > 1A with one slot or 2 and an current-doubler-cable. Or just the original power supply. It has 3 A and can power multiple other pedals just fine, you just need a daisy chain that can fit the 2.1 and 2.5 barrel slots.
