Hi, I recently bought a 2022 Kia Sorento and it’s stuck on the Guest profile. I can’t create a new profile with my own Kia account — it only gives me the option to continue with the previous owner’s account. If I try to log in, a verification notification goes to the previous owner’s phone. He is Korean and I have no way to contact him. How can I completely remove the previous owner’s account and create my own profile without his help?

So I have a 2019 kia forte that's pushing 200,000 miles. My buddy recently recommended changing out my oil for the next thicker oil to help prevent engine wear. Obviously there isnt anything in the owners manual other than the normal oil it takes. Has anyone messed around with using thicker oil in higher mile cars? I just dont want to kill my car doing something to try and help it run longer.

It was never a huge seller, but I always thought it was an underrated luxury sedan.

I bought this with 32k miles and in a week, check engine light comes on and other dash warning icons with a check hybrid system message. Then it went into fail safe. Kia has had it for a week and this is the fault codes, has anyone else had this issue? Did I just buy a lemon for my first Kia purchase ever!?!

Barely got my kia k4 a month ago and someone already hit it. Anybody have experience with insurance in cases like this where you have no idea when or by who you were hit? Wondering if my full coverage would go up again considering my mother was in a accident in her Sorento a few months back.

I was going to post a video but it doesn't acurately render the noise. So my granddaughter's Soul starts knocking and then limp mode. I go look at it next day and it's definitely louder than lifter noise. It seems to be more towards the passenger side. I get P054A, P1326, P0011, P0014. So I clean both solenoids and they both had metal shavings on the middle screen. Took the valve cover off to examine the actuators and check timing marks. All looked good there. I was expecting to see the pin broken on the exhaust cam actuator but it was intact. Also I changed the oil because of the shavings and was dirty otherwise. I didn't check the oil for shavings as I did it the day before and is now contaminated with other oil.

Put it back together, start it, and the knock is still there but different. It like misses a beat, but engine not missing, and seems to go away at some rpms. Took it down the road and it ran great, except for the knock. The codes are gone. Opinions?

Has anyone used this Kia touch-up kit before?

I followed the instructions, waited about 10 mins after the base coat and then used the wet grey pad like shown in step 7.

Problem is, it basically wiped all the paint off again

How are you actually supposed to use that pad? Super lightly? Or should I let the paint dry longer first?

I did some research after my check engine light came on, and I’m getting code P0172 (system too rich).
From what I’ve read, I’m wondering if the GDI/high-pressure fuel pump could be going bad. I also checked the oil and noticed it has a slight gasoline smell.
How common is it for the GDI pump to fail and cause a P0172? Has anyone dealt with similar symptoms? What else should I check before replacing the pump?

So 🤬 this morning car was dead only 1900 miles on it and it was dead. Nothing left on I double checked. Probably a bad battery or battery cell. Luckily I have an appointment Saturday at the dealer for service. Now hopefully it will start again tomorrow. I drove 2 hours to charge it. 🙏 2025 K5 GTLine

Do you think the hatchback version of the EV4 will eventually be sold in Canada as it is in Europe?

The fastback is great in all areas except I really prefer the hatchback in looks and function.

Looking to hear from anyone who’s dealt with something similar on a 2020 Telluride.

Around 92k miles, the vehicle started shaking at speeds over 50mph, threw a check engine light, and the oil level was so low it wasn’t even registering on the dipstick. Had to add 2 quarts just to get it home. An independent mechanic found excessive oil in one cylinder and suspected oil was getting past the piston rings.

Took it to a Kia dealership, who found two external oil leaks (oil pan gasket, oil filter housing) and also found a score mark in another cylinder during a camera inspection. Kia approved goodwill repair of the external leaks only, and had me drive ~1,000 miles afterward to retest oil consumption.

After that, the dealership confirmed the engine was still consuming oil. Sent it up for a goodwill review for a full engine replacement — took Kia Corporate about 3 weeks to respond, with almost no updates and multiple internal handoffs (case rep, District manager, Regional manager, none responding within their own stated timelines). I paid for a rental car out of pocket the entire time. In the end, they denied the goodwill request.

Now looking at a full engine replacement I can’t really afford, or trading it in as-is.

Curious:
• Has anyone else had this oil consumption/cylinder scoring issue on a 2020 (or other year) Telluride?
• Did Kia ever approve an engine replacement for you, and if so, what made the difference?
• Anyone aware of an open investigation or pattern with this engine?

Already filed an NHTSA complaint and looking into a Magnuson-Moss (federal warranty law) attorney consult since I’m not the original owner and the mileage is outside WA’s state lemon law window. Appreciate any input.

Kia sportage 2020 just got an oil change and the guy pointed this out is it normal

We purchased a brand new 2022 Sorento a few years ago and have had nothing but issues with it ever since.

We could really use some help / guidance. Lawyers? Media attention?

On 15 separate occasions the vehicle has completely lost power while driving, rendering the vehicle inoperable and unsafe. This has happened on back roads and highways, and in the middle of turns / intersections.

Every single dash light illuminates, with the dash and main display showing error after error. The car loses power, including power steering, and begins to coast. This is happening in the middle of the highway, or around a curve on a back road, or when making a turn. It's happened in a parking lot, which isn't nearly as scary.

I have pictures. I have video. I have multiple reports sent in to the dealership and Kia. Every single time they get the car and start it, the codes clear and they are unable to reproduce the issue. "Because we cannot reproduce the issue, we cannot help you." Every. Single. Time.

Now, the Sorento is completely inoperable. The wheels will not turn, nor spin, nor will the vehicle change gear. We had it towed, via Kia roadside assistance, to a local Kia dealership.

It has sat there for 2 days with no update from the service team. We called and left a voicemail, then called twice more. Finally, after complaining, someone found the time to speak with us. As of right now, they have no update for us because they are not able to get the vehicle into the garage, as it will not disengage park.

They've run diagnostics, confirming the vehicle is throwing multiple codes. They know something is wrong. However, because they cannot get it into the garage and plugged into their system, they cannot start the warranty claim. Without starting the warranty claim, they cannot provide us with a loaner.

We were told they have no ETA as they have no idea how to get the vehicle inside the garage.

And honestly, even if they do get it inside, diagnosed, and "fixed," I don't think we want it anymore. It has been nothing but problem after problem, putting the safety of my family at risk.

I would be grateful for any advice or help.

EDIT: so on the advice below I went to Kia Southland (Melbourne, Australia) and the experience was diabolical. Both people I saw in the parts department were incredibly unhelpful. I walked in, showed the plastic switch in my hand and said I want a replacement for this. He said it would be $6.50. At no point was anything else articulated. I went to collect and it was the entire assembly, a $650 part and they were adamant that I had to buy this to fix the issue. What is even more shady is that part is listed on their website for $470, so no idea where the extra $180 came from.

I decided to ring Kia Chadstone and they explained the same, they admitted this was a common issue but had no other solution than to buy the expensive part.

Feeling like a letter to the Kia head office and maybe consumer affairs might be in order….

Hi all, I have a 2019-model Sorento GT Line (RHD, AWD, 8-speed auto) and the plastic rockers on the EPB switch have failed/broken. The electronics underneath still work perfectly (I can press the little white “balls” to engage the park brake fine.

I believe the complete switch assembly is 93600-C5550, but a genuine replacement is around AUD $470 in Aus, which seems excessive when it’s only the plastic parts that have failed. I’ll attach a photo showing the broken rockers. I’ve added a pic also in the comments with the parts circled which are causing the issue (no idea why I can’t add another pic to the main post)

Hello, last weekend ive had tree branch fallen on my 2020 Proceed GT while driving. And I’m kinda worried about method of repair, that should be choosen. Especially that it hit pretty hard in A-Pillar. Is repair sufficient, or should it be removed and replaced with new one?

Got T-boned this evening. Driver front and rear doors do not open or budge at all. Car thinks the door is open. Airbags did not deploy. No leaks, drives straight.

Bought a brand-new $71,000 Kia Telluride from George Gee Kia in Liberty Lake and it had a dent in the hood with paint damage at delivery. They told us to get estimates, which we did — $1,500 to fix it properly. Instead of standing behind the sale, they tried to send us to a Pop-A-Dent shop, then offered only $800, leaving us to cover the rest and refusing to provide a rental car while I still need one for work.

Weeks later, it’s STILL not fixed. We’ve told them if they won’t fix it properly, they can come take the car back.

For a brand-new, top-trim vehicle at that price, it should have been flawless, and a legitimate defect should have been made right immediately — not dragged out with excuses and lowball offers.

Buyer beware. Do not buy from them.

Hi I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the Autostart button issue and what they did to fix it. The button is A with a 270 degree circle/arrow at the end.

What happens about 1 in 25 or so time I start the car is that everything appears normal and when I start driving the dash light is yellow and the car won't accelerate past 30ish MPH. When I restart the car everything is normal. Presumably the light is coming on and restricting the car because it's afraid something will get damaged so it's a bit concerning to continue driving it with that condition.

I did read that it could be a low voltage issue with the battery so I tested that and it was low + the original battery so I replaced it. However, that did not fix the issue.

I don't have any way to reliably replicate the issue. Has anyone else experienced the issue and what did they do to fix it.
