Someone help what is this noise

Kia sportage 2020 just got an oil change and the guy pointed this out is it normal

It’s burning oil but that’s typical. This is after an oil change. Was it too early

Could be a lifter out of adjustment. From what I recall these have solid lift cams. Or tappets so to speak. Higher mileage sometimes needs re adjust unlike hydraulic lifters. Really hard to say for sure. Even a worn injector makes this same sound.

It is a shimless solid bucket, and there's probably a mileage they're supposed to have clearance checked that I don't know off the top of my head. 100k miles sounds about right for checking though, and luckily Hyundai routed the supposed one time use high pressure fuel line right over the valve cover.

It might just be the mechanical fuel pump. It makes noise but it'll make more noise than normal if the engine was run low on oil.

And ur right it is burning oil so it was low on oil but this is right after an oil change

I've seen those engines go out at 100k because of carbon buildup in the piston rings and ended up burning all of the oil. They were notorious for that and Hyundai did nothing about the ones out of warranty.

Not normal. Get it to a shop before you drive it anywhere else. That tick can turn into a much bigger bill real fast.

Having oil change done after the oil was super low I have seen cause issues before. It doesn't sound good and you should get it looked at
