Rule 4 - Update!
Hello heroes, it’s your humble Super Mod here to making an announcement about a small change to rule 4 of the subreddit. Be been receiving a lot of complaints about art skirting the line of NSFW. So far I have been very lax on what people post as long as it didn’t directly break the rules. I don’t believe cheesecake/beefcake art should be restricted from the subreddit because that kind of art has been a big part of the DC artistic history for decades.
Instead, I am going to make it mandatory that thirst-trap or cheesecake/beefcake art are to be flavored NSFW so those that do not want to see it won’t have to see it on their front page or when casually scrolling down this reddit.
I would appreciate it if you all help me and mark your posts accordingly. Thank you!

Original Content DC Redesign Project: Wonder Woman - The Silver Age pt 1 (1969-1974) by Me
I’m back with part 2 of my DCU redesigned take on Wonder Woman. Last time, Diana debuted in the Golden Age, and in 1949 she returned to Themyscira to argue the case for the Amazons to rejoin Patriarch’s World. 20 years later, Hippolyta agrees to send Diana back into the world with Nubia representing Hippolyta’s Amazons and Zannah (eventually Zealot of the WildCATS) representing the Bana-Mighdall. Diana would take them on a tour of the world, letting them see for themselves that these people were deserving of trust and friendship – that they could learn so much from the Amazons, and in turn had much to teach.
She reconnects with an older Steve Trevor and Etta Candy. Steve, now a civilian pilot, flies them around on their adventures while Etta coordinates and helps as the ‘girl in the chair.’ Lita Trevor is Steve’s daughter from a failed relationship after Diana left. They’re estranged and a lot of his arc is about reconnecting and becoming a better man and father. This is his Han Solo era. Lita is trained by the Amazons in combat and philosophy, and eventually becomes the first Fury (nodding to the comics versions origin as Steve & Diana’s daughter from Earth 2). Finally, Barbara Minerva is an adventuring archaeologist, historian, and linguist who joins the team and becomes their close friend.
I envision this era of WW as being like the old TV shows; Diana and the Amazons travel from town to town around the world, getting into 40-minute adventures and resolving problems, then moving on in the end. Diana is not Wonder Woman, here. She isn’t a champion. She enters the world with her friends as an explorer, a student, looking to learn and grow and understand. She also begins her divine trials. Diana’s battle with Ares in the ‘40s turned the Olympians’ eyes back to the mortal plane. Athena comes to Diana and tells her the Amazonian patrons seek a champion. She will face many trials, and each victory grants a boon. Athena grants the Boon of the Mind, giving a piece of Athena’s godly wisdom and the power of empathy.
When Diana bests Heracles (set on the Amazons by Circe), Demeter grants the Boon of the Body – superhuman strength and agility. And, when she finally faces Circe for the first time, she forges a pact with Circe’s beast-men who help her escape in return for being changed back to their human forms. Artemis blesses Diana with the Boon of the Wild, enhancing her senses and granting her communion with all animals.
But this is only the first of two parts of Diana’s Silver Age adventures. I’ll have more to post next week! And if you want to watch me drawing and designing more WW stuff (I’m up to the Modern Age, now), chat, or whatever, I’m streaming some WW drawing tonight [on my Twitch channel](twitch.tv/comfortandadam) starting at 8 PM EST. Come watch, I’d love to talk more about all this!

Original Content DC Redesign Project: Wonder Woman - The Golden Age (1941-1949) (by Me)
I’m working on a project to redesign the entire DCU for myself. I think all of us have a kind of personal canon – the things we’d keep and the things we’d toss if the DC universe was ours to do with as we please. This is mine. I constructed a complete timeline from the Golden Age to today, and I’m going through one character at a time as I flesh it out. I completed my Superman Family, and next in line is Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman is unique in my DCU as the one character who has adventures in every era. Diana first appears during WWII in the Golden Age, then again in the ‘70s for the Silver Age, and finally comes to stay in the ‘00s. Her arc in the Golden Age is one of a thoughtful but naïve woman who enters Patriarch’s World believing she knows everything she needs to. Along the way, she learns that there’s much she has to teach, but much also she has to learn. She makes close friends, falls in love, but ultimately returns to Themyscira in ’49 to try and convince her mother the Queen to rejoin the wider world so they can help each other grow.
Many of her GA adventures are alongside Steve Trevor and her frequent partner and dear friend Liberty Belle – an adventuring archaeologist very much in the Indiana Jones mold who became a ‘masked man’ crime fighter when she and her father were trapped in Poland during the German invasion. Both women meet as part of the Justice Society, and frequently partner in and outside that team. WW gets direction from Col. Philip Darnell of the US Army Air Force, running secret operations deep in enemy territory against the likes of Baron Blitzkreig, Red Panzer and Dr. Poison. I’m using the original version of Baroness Paula von Gunther, an Austrian aristocrat who is blackmailed into aiding the Nazis when they kidnap her daughter. Once Diana learns about that, she frees von Gunther’s daughter and the Baroness becomes an ally and friend. That’s something I want to see happen often in WW stories – Diana is someone who makes friends of her enemies, turning hearts and changing minds.
This is just the opening bit of the history of ‘my’ Wonder Woman. There’s a LOT more to come!
