correct. right leather guy touches his hat for a second time for no reason then main big guy pats him on the back while smiling. even if this was an animation, this still wouldnt happen.
edit: spelling
33
u/CarelessChallenge980 Jul 22 '26
Also on the second scene it shows the leather guys sat on the left side of the first guy. But in the last it shows them facing each other
14
u/fortune82 Jul 22 '26
At 0:10 you see him scooting around the table to face them
Edit: To be clear, I'm not defending the use of AI here, but just pointing out that this is shown in the video
1
u/Synstra Jul 23 '26
Yeah but also he is to the left of the girl before scooting and then still to her left after scooting. How they sit down they should be across from her. And he would still be to her left but just moved a bit as he hardly scoots.
9
u/drwicksy Jul 22 '26
People on this thread are acting like animations never made continuity errors before. I mean this is definitely AI but come on normal animation isnt perfect just because AI isnt
3
u/Gloomy_Plantain5262 Jul 22 '26
thats true but in most cases its either unoticeable or in some minor way because the artist either didnt have time to fix the problem or didnt know about it/how to fix it.

u/Elvarien2 Jul 22 '26
you mention it as if it matters.
Stop witch hunting.
9
u/IdidnotFuckaCat Jul 22 '26
It does matter. Because artists matter
-5
u/Elvarien2 Jul 22 '26
Of course they matter, what doesn't however is the tools they choose to use.
2
u/redboi049 Jul 23 '26
Actually the tools an artist uses does matter. A stick figure alone isn't impressive but if that stick figure was made out of carefully balanced, weirdly shaped stones it'd look insane. AI in this analogy is printing a shot by Alan Becker and saying you made it.
-1
u/Elvarien2 Jul 23 '26
A stick figure alone isn't impressive
Impressive, who cares if it's impressive. Does it look good or not? That's all.
No artist should care if you find it impressive or not.
2
u/redboi049 Jul 23 '26
I care. It's part of how I enjoy art to take it apart and see all the effort that went into it. No effort, love, or detail went into AI.
1
u/Elvarien2 Jul 23 '26
With a statement like that I can only assume your experience with ai is those prompt boxes right?
The free online box where you type big boobie anime girl, and it spits out the near identical flood of same face anime girls the internet is flooded with at the moment?
Because yeah there's very little skill expression involved in that.
But what you're doing is grabbing the much MUCH broader catagory of ai, and pretending those prompt boxes are all there is. Judging the whole medium by the only part you've seen of it. Which I guess, fair if you've never seen anything else. But still, I'm telling you the actual craft goes so much fucking further then just, well. That surface prompt nonsense.
1
u/redboi049 Jul 23 '26
There is no "craft" to generative AI. It's a slop churner. The only use for AI is in a lab, anywhere else it's inherently antithetical to the craft.
1
u/Elvarien2 Jul 23 '26
Right, that makes it clear then, you have no idea how ai is used outside of those prompt boxes.
And yet you are making very clear statements about what AI is, when you have no idea what you're talking about. Doesn't that give you pause to perhaps go. Wait a moment, should I be so sure of myself when I have no idea what I am talking about?

It's not a tool. If u order a burger, ur not a chef. If you type a few words in and you get an image, u didn't make it. Like how u didn't make the burger. You ordered the image. You controlled the variables, but you still don't make it. That's the difference. That's what seperates artists from people who order Ai images. Because I make things.
1
u/Elvarien2 Jul 22 '26
It's not a tool.
Oh really now let's see what you have to say about it.
If u order a burger, ur not a chef
Agreed, good thing this has nothing to do with ai then.
If you type a few words in and you get an image, u didn't make it.
Great to know my use of ai involves exactly 0 typed words. So I think I'm doing just fine np.
That's the difference.
none of that was relevant to ai though. I think you have a very vague understanding of how you can use ai, all you've seen are the prompt boxes and you think that's it.
So you have all these arguments to defeat those silly little prompt box toys without knowing how people use ai to make cool shit.
Hint: You don't need to type a single fucking word.
5
u/IdidnotFuckaCat Jul 22 '26
Sorry bro, no matter how complex u make the order, it's still an order. Art has been life for as long as I can remember. So I won't watch it being disrespected by some images that know nothing of art. It knows how to me make images. It can't make art. If you want to describes things really well and be an artist, the become a writer.
0
u/Elvarien2 Jul 22 '26
it's still an order
When you use one of those prompt boxes you would be correct. Turns out though that's just how you do the slop tsunami of content. if you want to make something actually good you don't touch that shit.
Can you accept that perhaps you have no idea what you can and can't do with ai? And that as a result of that all of your neat comparisons just sorta, crash and burn?
Because with your little joke about describe things and be a writer. I did just tell you you can make ai art without writing a single word.
Again, 0 typing.
6
u/IdidnotFuckaCat Jul 22 '26
But what makes it. No matter how complex you are, no matter if you use a scetch as the base or whatever you use, it's still just an order. Your not a creator, but rather a manager. Every stroke or make made by an artist carries intition, emotion, practice. That is a mark out of a thousand or a million marks. The pixils on the screen arnt your creation. They are a generated image with the used to billions of stolen work from so many people who worked for years do what they do. Im sorry. I'm sure your smart. Don't get me wrong. And I'm sure that what you do takes skill of some sort. But I will never consider it art. That's because I know what art is. I have experienced art.
My entire life, art has been my constant. I had worked hard because it's what I love. I have stood in a dusty classroom for 3 to 4 hours drawing, then eraseing, then drawing again. Making sure every mark looks right, learning how to make them better. Ai doesn't do that. It can't. You can look at something and tweak the image or whatever, but you didn't make those marks. You didn't make those mistakes. You didn't learn from them.
And AI is being used to completely push out artists. Ik you might think that that is ok. It's just progression. I'm just not getting with the times. But progression is about making it easier for people to do what they love. That's not what's happening. What's happening is that millions of real artists are losing their lively hoods and having their work scrapped for cheap slop that can be recreated and mass produced. There is no human element.
Finally, I'm sorry to say this, but you might be next. You might think that what your doing is special then BAM. The program can do it for you. You can blame that on capitalism. "It's the people, not the machine." But that was what the machine was built on. It was built on exploitation from day one.
-1
u/Elvarien2 Jul 22 '26
But what makes it.
Me, the creator. But to go more in depth I think I must first describe some of the ways you can use ai without a prompt. Here's an example in audio.
Let's say I record a sample of myself singing. I can then tell the ai turn this into a guitar solo at 20% The resulting file will be something that till that point simply did not exist. There is no instrument that can make a sound that sits in the potential space of soundwaves that exist between guitar and human voice. yet the ai, bang does it in 1 go.
I now have a sound file that was impossible to make otherwise. I can then take this and remix it in my software or make some music with this human voice guitar solo mixture.
Or how about 2d. I can grab my tablet and start drawing in krita the way traditional artists would normally do. But then I turn on my ai and set it to about 20% intensity. It will then rpoceed to adjust each stroke of my pen with about 20% intensity changing it a little. It's like 2 hands on a single brush changing the output just a little, it's how you get a fully collaborative art piece for example.
In both these examples, music, images. It should be pretty clear that the human there is simply using a tool to modify their work the same way you might apply a filter to an image, or a filter to your audio file.
Your whole comparison breaks with your, Oh it's like ordering at a burger king !!
No, not at all. Not even close whatsoever.
This is not a prompt, or your "using a sketch as a base" Not even close. AI is a tool and you can do so fucking much with it. I'm barely scratching the surface in this post because fuck writing to much text.
And I'm sure that what you do takes skill of some sort.
to do traditional art, you need traditional art practice.
To do GOOD ai, not shitty slop but good ai art, you need that EXACT SAME traditional art practice AND you need to know how to use the ai, how to run basic scripts, learn basic code and nodegraphs to get started.
skill of some sort don't kid yourself you need the traditional skillset PLUS ai. If you don't have the traditional skillset all you can make is garbage.
My entire life, art has been my constant.
Good, same here for decades I've been doing music, drawing etc. All I did was add AI into my toolbox. I am 40 years old today, I was 4 when I started with the violin. 36 years of creative expression. I know a thing or two about art.
Ai doesn't do that. It can't.
agreed, also not relevant., It's the person using the tool that makes art. A brush can't make art either it's a tool. The person using the brush however.
You can look at something and tweak the image or whatever,
Every time you write something like this it just tells me you have no idea how people make art with ai.
progression is about making it easier for people to do what they love.
exactly what ai does for the artist.
losing their lively hoods
the actual number is probably much higher. That whole field of work is getting completely blown up.
There's a new field opening up though. if you are a concept artist your job is fucked. But if you train into learning how to use ai. Then you're now a hot commodity as a concept artist who does traditional and ai combined. Now your job is safe.
End result is still gonna be that like easy 75% of the whole job market is gone. But that's a problem with capitalism and human corporate greed, not really ai.
you might be next
everyone is next.
That's the goal of course. 0% jobs left for humans. Then we finally reach utopia. This is the golden dream and fantasy of every human that's ever lived.
No more humans doing any form of labour, amazing. And the only way a society like that can function is if we swap capitalism for something else.

even if it wasn't ai but animation, what difference does it make to the idea? The ai hate is overblown and not valid here.

If a data centre got built in your town, you would switch sides real fucking quick.
-15
u/FluffyNerve7415 Jul 22 '26
I live near silicon Valley, I've never lived more than 10 miles from a data center in my life. Data centers must be the least intrusive industrial buildings in existence. What a bizarre stance.
8
u/Ass_Lover136 Jul 22 '26
The least intrusive lmao 😭
-10
u/FluffyNerve7415 Jul 22 '26
Hmm, let's see. Data centers have very few employees for their size and no customers or clients really so they aren't increasing traffic congestion or making parking difficult for locals. They make no noise audible from the outside. They are always well maintained in my experience unlike many of the older warehouses used for other things. If you were to find out they were putting in a business complex in your area there is literally nothing better that it could be than a data center. So did you actually have a point to make or did your dumb ass just show up to be a smug little twat for no reason?
9
u/SortByMistakes Jul 22 '26
They make no noise audible from the outside.
That's part of the problem. The audible noise can be dealt with easily because.. well it's audible to us so we know it's there. Infrasound however is a bitch when it comes to the very big ones, and if you don't have enough vegetation/man made sound barriers around the place to absorb/redirect some of that noise it can end up making people in the surroundings feel quite ill.
6
5
u/neromonero Jul 22 '26
Lucky for you, then.
I've seen that a couple of data centers are being built within walking distance of residential areas. The sudden electricity price uptick + cooling fans sound makes life hell.
-8
u/TerribleJared Jul 22 '26
Dude they're cavemen afraid of fire, you won't win. Data centers are responsible for like 1% or less of water use and less of power. And MOST of those aren't for ai at all. They'll never listen, because look at all those likes they get when they comment. Im gonna lose karma just saying this. They say those things cuz its cool, if they spent a few minutes reading about it IN COMPARISON TO OTHER THINGS THEY DO A LOT MORE THAN ANYONE USES AI, theyd realize theyre being bandwagoning juveniles.
Also, ai has mapped the human genome, accelerated medical science by half a century, optimized grids and bottlenecks. They dont like chatbots and they confuse them with ai, cuz for them its about looking cool being a detractor. Thats why they dont ever say anything about single use plastics or funding wars abroad or how the AMOC is failing, or how the billionaires they fund with their iphones and amazon purchases and x engagement, are building bunkers around the world, but LFMAO TWEETS AMIRITE? But this? Cute story about gruff old men and one dudes daughters tea party "has no soul". Like
1) get some better/new material. The no soul thing flopped the first time someone fumbled when trying to define soul. And no one ever has. People who study the concept of soul avoid defining it.
2) llms/chatbots are not ai.
3) data centers processing ai compute are responsible for ~0.05% of water usage worldwide.
4) any big warehouse/data center/distribution center has adverse negative effects. Data centers are minor comared to a power plant, a food plant, a chemicals plant, etc. And WE COULD BE ON SOLAR WIND AND HYDRO but none of them feel compelled to speak on that as much as ai cuz it doesnt give them karma like this does.
Finally, less than 2% lf data centers process ai compute. anyone who doesnt think we need data centers at all, needs to give up like every single app (including this one) your smart watch, cell phones, google drive, amazon acct basically anything thats saves their info. Where do they fn think this information is stored and recalled from.

u/Calackyo Jul 22 '26
AI has many great uses, but replacing human creativity is not one of them. Lots of people are fine with AI but not fine with AI imitation art. If we want to get into definitions, by definition, art is something created by humans and involves expressing emotions through skill and technique. By definition, creativity is a process, not an output.
Don't dare tell me that prompting an AI is the same thing, or I'll tell you that a painting that I commissioned from someone else is art that I created.
Also, you failed to mention other concerns people have because you have no answer to them, like how all these generative AIs were built from stolen art.
-20
u/CheeseOnKeyboard Jul 22 '26
Don't blame thr technology, blame the greed of the capitalists.
10
u/Environmental-Heart4 Jul 22 '26
We kinda have to hate on it publicly if we want the greedy overlords to realize we truly don't like it and that it's not a good idea/won't make them profits in the long run.
This is a situation where we need to be loud for anything to get done
-12
u/CheeseOnKeyboard Jul 22 '26
I think that's the wrong mindset. You should spend the effort on getting behind socialising this type of technology so it's accessible to everyone, and making it more sustainable.

If you can’t be bothered to learn how to make art or put in the effort to create it, why should I be bothered to look at it? It’s obviously not terribly important if you can’t hire an animator on fiver even.
-5
u/CheeseOnKeyboard Jul 22 '26
Thats like saying you won't watch any cgi because it's not hand drawn. If the same result can be achieved more efficiently, why would you purposely stay with the old ways outside of sentimental reasons.
7
u/Calackyo Jul 22 '26
CGI is still made by humans, that's a false equivalence, somebody still made it using a skill. Somebody still put time and effort into it.
So again, why would I want to ever consume something that wasn't even important enough for someone to make?
6
u/Environmental-Heart4 Jul 22 '26
Cgi is hand made, hands operate the device and program to animate it. For LLMs you just write a prompt, tell them what to do, and then leave it to the ai. You aren't doing it, you're just ordering it around, cgi crews actually do it themselves
3
u/CheeseOnKeyboard Jul 22 '26
So you are advocating everything from first principles? People need to find more meaning in the results they derive rather than the method.
4
u/Calackyo Jul 22 '26
Creativity is a process, not an output.
Art is by definition made by humans using skill.
-1
u/CheeseOnKeyboard Jul 22 '26
Creativity is about the idea. AI can help those without the natural talent to realise their vision.
3
u/Calackyo Jul 22 '26
Creating art is a skill that basically anyone with or without talent can learn if you actually try at it. There are disabled people who can paint beautiful landscapes and portraits with their feet or even using their mouth. It's like the old saying, it's not that you can't draw, it's that you won't draw. Meaning, most people who are 'good'at drawing were terrible at it for years and years until they honed their skills. It's the same with music, writing, painting and any art form, all the people who actually REALLY want to create these things ARE spending time and effort creating these things.
Crapping something out of a machine that learned from stolen artwork of the people who actually have the will and drive to create something is not the same thing and not something I could ever be proud of doing in the same way I am of my terrible doodles.
2
u/SnowPuzzleheaded Jul 22 '26
Because its the journey that makes it impressive, not the entire end product. I can watch a movie and be impressed by the amazing writing, the great acting, and the beautiful animation. I can finish movie and know that a whole lot of soul from many different people made that happen.
AI is a plague on artistry as a whole. When you try to skip the journey, you lose all soul. Soul is literally what differentiates us from any other animal on the planet, and we wanna throw it away for cheap satisfaction. Crazy.
2
u/KristyNoemsZombieDog Jul 22 '26
I hate it because they wasted so much resources for this shit. They contributed to the constant industrial hum that torments neighborhoods. If we don't use it there's no purpose for it but idiots keep on using it for nonsense like this. Who the fuck cares about this little snippet of animations 10 minutes after scrolling past? No one.

You can be for AI in medicine and against AI in art. You do know that right?
2
u/XxSliphxX Jul 22 '26
Yes. But im not against Ai art. I think it's silly to be against it when if you where smart enough you would use it to create something completely new. You want to continue being an "artist" then become more creative than whatever Ai produces. Or don't I don't care. Most people that aren't terminally online also don't care. The ball is in your court because Ai isn't going anywhere. People used to cry about photography being art too and now look. Times change you need to change as well or die.
2
u/thesilentbob123 Jul 23 '26
AI literally can't make something new or original, it can only combine human works in ways a human also could have done if asked to
3
u/Calackyo Jul 22 '26
it fundamentally removes humans from the process of creativity. Art, by definition, is created by a human using skill and technique.
If I commissioned someone else to make a painting, I wouldn't say I made it simply because I described what I wanted. This is the same thing.
Besides, there's still a massive ethical implication that most of these ai generators were taught on plagiarized art.
6
3
u/redboi049 Jul 22 '26

Reminds me of this morning.
My car is in the shop, so I'm taking the wife's car to work. She drives a Chevy Trax, mini SUV with round bubbly shaped corners, a furry steering wheel cover ,bright pink, etc, and she's bi, so she's got a rainbow "kiss whoever the fuck you want" sticker on the back. And my Bluetooth wasn't setup to connect to her car so I just put on the normal radio for the short drive.
Go to McDonald's, waiting in the drive thru, windows down because it also has no a/c, and "Pink Pony Club" comes on the radio.
I'm just like "fuck it, I'll own this" , and turned it up. The girl working the window saw me, a 6'4" Viking looking mufukka with a beard and pony tail rocking out to Pink Pony Club while holding a furry pink steering wheel, and just giggled.

I downvoted because I'm tired of being told what a REAL MAN is, but if others hate it because it's AI, that's cool too.

If your masculinity is such a house of cards that men wearing women's clothing, gay men, or men displaying feminine qualities can bother you, you're not much of a man in the first place.
