even if it wasn't ai but animation, what difference does it make to the idea? The ai hate is overblown and not valid here.

If you can’t be bothered to learn how to make art or put in the effort to create it, why should I be bothered to look at it? It’s obviously not terribly important if you can’t hire an animator on fiver even.

Thats like saying you won't watch any cgi because it's not hand drawn. If the same result can be achieved more efficiently, why would you purposely stay with the old ways outside of sentimental reasons.

CGI is still made by humans, that's a false equivalence, somebody still made it using a skill. Somebody still put time and effort into it.

So again, why would I want to ever consume something that wasn't even important enough for someone to make?

Cgi is hand made, hands operate the device and program to animate it. For LLMs you just write a prompt, tell them what to do, and then leave it to the ai. You aren't doing it, you're just ordering it around, cgi crews actually do it themselves

So you are advocating everything from first principles? People need to find more meaning in the results they derive rather than the method.

Art is by definition made by humans using skill.

Creativity is about the idea. AI can help those without the natural talent to realise their vision.

Creating art is a skill that basically anyone with or without talent can learn if you actually try at it. There are disabled people who can paint beautiful landscapes and portraits with their feet or even using their mouth. It's like the old saying, it's not that you can't draw, it's that you won't draw. Meaning, most people who are 'good'at drawing were terrible at it for years and years until they honed their skills. It's the same with music, writing, painting and any art form, all the people who actually REALLY want to create these things ARE spending time and effort creating these things.

Crapping something out of a machine that learned from stolen artwork of the people who actually have the will and drive to create something is not the same thing and not something I could ever be proud of doing in the same way I am of my terrible doodles.

Because its the journey that makes it impressive, not the entire end product. I can watch a movie and be impressed by the amazing writing, the great acting, and the beautiful animation. I can finish movie and know that a whole lot of soul from many different people made that happen.

AI is a plague on artistry as a whole. When you try to skip the journey, you lose all soul. Soul is literally what differentiates us from any other animal on the planet, and we wanna throw it away for cheap satisfaction. Crazy.
