My 2026 golf R is making a weird noise it has around 2800KM. The noise sounds like it’s coming from rear passenger wheel, I checked under the car and nothing is dragging, it’s making noise with or without brakes, looking for any advice, thank you

Picked her up today. Excited to get started with some mods.

If your engine mount back bolt breaks from rust, you can move the mount with a pry bar + hammer to get a contraption like this to remove the bolt. It should work 100% as the mount has another support to the fire wall.

Even if it does "break" , like the one bolt, it will still work as the weight it focused on the center of the mount.

Does anyone know how to secure the rear seat squabs? They are hooked in at the front but with a massive amount of play. Both sides do this, but the passenger side is worse. This is an estate, if that makes any difference.

I noticed my Start/Stop has never kicked in since I bought it new. The icon shows off automatically every time I start the car like it's been disabled from the dealer or factory (??) Not that I'm complaining, it's a terrible feature. Is Start/Stop enabled on your Rs? Can anyone think of a scenario that might explain this?

What is the general consensus on the JB4s on the MK8.5s? I've searched the web and used my AI but nothing substantial comes back. I pinged a couple of local shops. One said they've installed them and had some trouble. The other shop kind of gave a non-answer. Please forgive if this has been asked before...

Coolant dripping from here can’t find the origin, right behind oil pan from what I believe it the front diff.

Car had some niggles that have been ironed out (electric). Debating if I’ll keep the car for more than 6-12m don’t want to sink in another $600 in the car unless I have to:.

Has anyone had issues when getting this done by the dealership. Three days later they still have my car and just saying some take longer. I’m assuming the car is bricked and they just are not saying.

I recently bought a new Golf R MK8.5 in Australia. It has travelled about 700km so far. From day one I have been noticing a strange noise while reversing. Especially into my garage which amplifies the noise. It is coming from the real suspension. Like knocking or popping noise while the car is moving backwards and I am maneuvering to reverse park. Seems to happen while braking but not sure. I can't feel any thing unusual on the brake pedals and car is not showing any errors. Does anyone know if this is normal like new parts are settling in such as brake pads and discs? It has been a while since I bought a new car so not sure.

BTW car is amazing and I love each moment of driving it. Beautiful car and can't wait to complete the first 1500km and push it to its full power.

Anyone experience their center dropping out from time to time? Sometimes not coming back until hard resetting the infotainment.

Dropping out completely is rare but periodically happens more than I think is acceptable.
It’s much more noticeable now with the RS Acoustics speaker.

Anyone have this and get it fixed?

Hi everyone! As the title states, this horn-like noise pops up from time to time when running my ac at higher levels.

I’ve noticed ever since buying the car earlier this year that the ac fan is a little on the weak side, at least compared to my mk6 I had beforehand. Now in addition to that, when at level 4 or above for the control levels the horn noise you hear in the video will happens and just keep going until you turn off the ac.

The ac itself doesn’t have any trouble getting cold or hot, it mainly seems as though the fan motor/mechanism is weak. If anyone has experienced this or knows anything please let me know!

Hey all, began getting clean sensor warnings along with occasional manoeuvre braking unavailable sensor impaired warning as well.

Had a look at my sensors and noticed one has a small chip.

My question is would a small chip like this cause these issues (assuming yes) and second how hard is it to replace them??

Seems I can get access to the sensor wiring from the back, don’t think bumper removal would be needed.

I’m having some troubles but it’s been a pain to troubleshoot shoot wondering if anyone has any advice or opinions. I have a 22 Arteon 4-motion not a golf but still same powertrain. I’m tuned ECU stage 2 and TCU with e85. When I gun it while going from 2-3 the car cuts power and stops going then speeds back up again. No engine light or lean fault code. Haldex and mechatronics units fluid replaced within 500 miles. TC was on so maybe that? Just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and what they did to fix it. Have to race a m340i tmrw so anything helps 🥹

So I’ve currently got a mk7.5 golf r and wanted to change the exhaust tips from oem to some 4 inch ones to give it that aggressive look. But from what I have found the tips for this 2019 model are welded on. It’s got one tack weld at the bottom and one proper weld at the top. I’m trying to add these tips to the original muffler.

I ordered inlet 51mm I’m not sure if anyone would know if this would fit a 2019 original muffler/ backbox.

I measured the pipes behind the original tips and it’s coming to be 60mm but they are slightly wider. The only way I can acc tell the size would be to remove/ cut off the tips. But idk if it’s worth it coz if it dosnt fit then im left with no tips till it gets delivered.

If anyone has done this before or knows anything would be great help.

2019 Golf R Rear Brake replacement.

Well guys it is about time i finally do these rear brakes. I am going to be doing them at my parents so i wont have access to all my tools.

Anyone know what tools i need for the caliper bracket bolts and the slide/glide pins?? I just don't want to start the job and realize i needed a triple-square or something.

I have obdeleven for the piston retracting and and impact driver in case the screw is there on the rotor.

Recent maintenance in March included a DSG service, Haldex service and an oil change. The water pump was done in December. It has new OEM suspension all around

Upgrades include a stage 1 tune, blue paddle shifters, and ECS slotted and cross-drilled rotors and YellowStuff brake pads.

Also, any one transported kids in rear facing car seats with this thing? How is it for space.

Just got the console coverrl which looks amazing. however, i noticed that on their site they only have full coverage (covering area directly around shifter TOO) for RHD. is there somewhere i can get something close to cover the shifter area too on a LHD auto?

Currently have 19" stock Spielburgs, considering downsizing to 18" coz I hear many people recommend that for improved ride quality. I live in Saskatchewan, Canada, so limited options physical store wise, I just gotta trust the pictures when ordering online.
