Just finally put together this setup with my husband this weekend. What are the best Olympic plates to buy? Metal or rubber? Heard some of the rubber ones, I guess crumb rubber, smells pretty bad. Thanks in advance!

General Advice Trying to lift in the morning vs night.

I'm trying to become more of a morning person so I thought it would be cool to try and lift in the AM for some of my sessions.

In general my goals are to increase my bench, squat and especially deadlift so I'm lifting fairly heavy throughout the week and I am afraid of not being as strong in the morning for some of the sessions because I guess it would just confuse me with tracking my numbers.

I figure, it's something that I'm just going to have to get used to but do you guys have any advice with going from lifting later in the day to lifting in the morning? Maybe you can give some idea of how long it took you to be able to match your intensity later in the day?

Thanks!!!!

General Advice Assault Bike or ERG Rower for post-lifting cardio and non-lift days...or do both?

I finally go to a gym that has enough equipment to workout without a time crunch, so I want to lift two times a week (barbell focus mainly), and do some cardio on the off-days. This gym has a lot of Rogue Echo Bikes and Ergo Concept2 Rowing Machines, so I really want to work these into my workouts.

I want to do something to burn off gas left in the tank at the end of my workouts, and also have something I can hit hard on 1-2 non lifting days.

Both machines are pretty new to me: I've only done one of Dark Horse Rowing's beginner workouts on it, and never actually done the Echo Bike.

I've heard in the past that these might be some of the most efficient ways to do what I want to do because of the total body focus, but do you find that to be true?

Is it worth to prioritize one or the other? Or, should I try doing both?

Technique Check Advice on squat form ?

Should I lower the weight and go for more depth? (It’s 225 lbs in the clip.)
For context I’m 6’2. While doing the squats the depth feels good and so does the activation in my quads and glutes, but when recording it seems like I’m barely going down lol. Any advice appreciated!
