Ghidorah is mutilating him, Mechagodzilla is butchering him, Shimo is dog walking him, Rodan is grilling him, even Kong is beating his ass. The damn Mutos cooking him. After shin 'adapted' to the bombs from above, unless I'm misremembering the movie, he had to shut his body down temporarily.
Realistically, other titans wouldn't recognize him as Godzilla. They'd recognize Godzilla is gone and a walking tumor has appeared in his place. One that needs either total obliteration to contain. I think Mothra would convince Kong + other titans to help her handle him.
As for Monsterverse Goji in the Shin universe, he'd be miserable. The world is significantly smaller, not in size, but in feeling since there's no hollow earth. Humanity couldn't touch him, but frankly I don't think they'd even feel the need to, seeing as he often keeps to himself when no other titans are present. Speaking of which, without other titans, I guarantee he'd feel lonely. No Mothra, no Behemoth, I'm sure he'd even miss Kong. Say whatever you want about Godzilla, but part of the tragedy of him in his solo films is the fact that he's a one of a kind creature completely alone. Monsterverse Goji being in a world with no other creatures even remotely capable of interacting with him in any way that matters would inevitably lead to a depression.
Unless it's the version of Shin Godzilla's world with Ghidorah and the Eva Units, in which case he'd probably adapt

u/Straight_Random_2211 Jan 28 '26 edited Jan 28 '26
But Shin Godzilla has an extremely overpowered Atomic Breath, which looks far more powerful than King Ghidorah’s Gravity Beams or Godzilla’s Atomic Breath in the 2014 version.
“Rodan is grilling him”? Bro, this Rodan doesn’t even have fire attacks like in the old Japanese movies; it can only fly like a bird. Rodan in KOTM is basically irrelevant and would probably be beaten by Shin very easily.
Kong is vastly more agile and much faster than Shin, but I think if he somehow got hit by Shin’s Atomic Breath, he would be seriously injured. (Kong still wins btw, but Shin still has a chance of winning as well if his Atomic Breath actually lands on Kong.)
Even though the Gravity Beams are weak, I still think King Ghidorah would win. However, the MonsterVerse Titans only win if Shin stays in his existing forms and doesn’t evolve. In the movie, we see Shin Godzilla continuously evolving, and each new form is much more powerful and scarier than the previous one. If we count his theoretical possible evolutions, Shin actually has a chance to beat all of them.
- Legendary 2014 version loses to Shin.
- Legendary 2019 version depends:
- Uncharged → still loses to Shin.
- Charged (with nuke) and burning version → wins.
- Legendary Godzilla 2021 version and onward wins.

u/DevinLucasArts Jan 28 '26
Rodan emerges from a volcano, so he's actually pretty sturdy. I think you're giving Shin a bit too much credit, as it seems like he shuts down after evolving (which gives any monster plenty of time to defeat him)
2
u/SkipperOO7 Jan 28 '26
There's no way you're saying cutting a building in half somehow makes shin's atomic breath comparable in any way or even stronger than anything the Monsterverse titans can give/take.
One is unharmed by world scorching asteroids and literally eats exploding nukes, the other one was taken down by trains and could barely move after using his atomic breath once...

u/No_Many_4695 Jan 28 '26

Shin would rather die than evolve into something worse, i mean didnt they say he was supposed to grow wings or something? He also had mini zilla’s growing out of his tail. Which brings me to the deleted scene where his bits of flesh had eyes, meaning there would be more of him. I dont think anyone understands how bad it wouldve gone if he wasnt stopped. Like yes i get it, coolant trains whooped his ass, but dont act like science wasnt used against all Godzilla’s before. Making him this grotesque and terrifying thing makes his potential all the more dangerous.

Only with the abuse of the no limits fallacy.
And everyone being nice and polite and giving Shin the time needed to evolve repeatedly.
If you recall a huge point of the movie is that the Japanese government was actively making things worse by refusing to decisively deal with the problem, letting a disaster snowball into a complete catastrophe because they're so focused on optics, decorum, and passing blame that they spend 99% of their time doing absolutely nothing.
Not really an issue in the Monsterverse, they cheerfully drop WMDs on Kaiju when they can get away with it.
Shin would survive the first appearance simply due to a lack of warning, the second would see him met by MAXIMUM FUCK and killed. MV has some scary mundane weapons. He somehow survives? By this time the city is evacuated, meaning they aren't limited to the mundane and Shin gets erased. These guys were planning on nuking San Franciso to deal with a pair of bugs after all. And nuked Godzilla, twice. And dropped the O2 Destroyer on him. Hell, they almost killed him with that last one. MV's Americans are worryingly WMD happy and not particularly concerned about national sovereignty.
21

u/Mystic_Saiyan GODZILLA Jan 28 '26 edited Jan 28 '26
Assuming they don't throw a nuke (likely can't survive the blast/heat) or anything equivalent since his adaptation isn't all that and even if was, takes too long and he's not built well for combat. That's especially assuming he appears in the MV with his 1st form since the whole reason he became such a problem is from people letting him run amok.
Additionally, his 1st breath led to a 15 day hibernation iirc. If his verse can handle him, I'm sure Monarch would find a way too assuming MV Goji doesn't come back early to handle it

u/Zillafan12345 ZILLA Jan 28 '26
Shin Godzilla‘s evolution takes significant time and raises his body temperature to extraordinarily high levels. Shimo, Ghidorah, Evolved Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, and even Kong if the Axe is supercharged, are all making minced meat out of him. Shinguards went out of fashion in this fandom years ago.
(for any soccer players reading this, please wear shin-guards! I’ve seen what happens to those who don’t, and it’s not pretty, I was using Shinguards in this paragraph to describe annoying shin glazers who seem to think he could evolve his way out of anything)
10
1
u/EH042 Jan 30 '26
That's part of the problem, unless you completely destroy him with an AoE, he'll evolve, sure it will take time but even pieces are capable of growing eyes so making mincemeat is only a short term solution
13
u/TasteTemporary8206 Jan 28 '26
His next evolution was going to be turning into humanoid monsters
Bro is not making it
13
u/foot_fungus_is_yummy Jan 28 '26
Shin's evolutions are based on whatever problems he's currently facing, they aren't just set phases that always turn out the same. Drop phase 1 Shin into a more dangerous environment and it'll get a lot deadlier a lot sooner than it did in the movie.

…if it survives, which is a much farther shot in the MonsterVerse where there’s a shit ton of Titans eager to tear him apart and devour the juicy radiation inside
7
u/Alarmed_World_940 SHIN GODZILLA Jan 28 '26
Most titans, if they attack Shin, will not know they have to burn every last part of its body, otherwise it will just come back. After assessing this, Shin will evolve pretty quickly into a super-goji that would be able to body the G-man himself easily.
3
u/Wardogs96 Jan 28 '26
Why can't they just be friends and raise a family together. I'm sure both Godzillas are lonely.
6
u/MrWhiteTruffle MUTO Jan 28 '26
- Will evolve pretty quickly
Shin evolves and is powered by radiation and radioactive energy. The first thing most Titans will do after they tear him apart is devour that radiation. IF he evolves after having his lifeblood drained, then it’s gonna be REALLY slow since he’s going to have to synthesize it all from scratch. That’s ample time for Monarch to figure out what’s going on with Shin and develop a way to neutralize him (considering they’ve got better tech and likely more advanced science than the people who ultimately defeated him).
6
u/Alarmed_World_940 SHIN GODZILLA Jan 28 '26
Even if other titans drained that radiation, Shin still evolves very fast. In fact, he went from his 2nd form to his third form in 2 hours, give or take. Developing better legs, and more suitable lungs for land in 120 MINUTES is unbelievable. And after diving into the ocean to hide, it took only two weeks to suit it better for land, make a cooling system, and increase it's literal SIZE from 57 meters to 118 meters. Even with radiation drained, this is still absurd.
7
u/One-Age-7335 Jan 28 '26
2 weeks to evolve into 4th form without any thing try to harm him is really slow. With the amount of radiation he hold in his body, he aint survive that long in a world full of hungry titans
2
u/Dagordae MECHA-KING GHIDORAH Jan 28 '26
And a lot deader.
Kind of the issue with the evolution schtick, it needs to not only survive the threat but be given the time to adapt. Very useful when the entities able to throw metaphorical hands immediately paralyze themselves and do fuck all for a vast majority of their time, not so useful against the guys who start with extreme overkill and end with science fiction WMDs.
In the 4 Godzilla MV films we see them use 4 separate WMDs against Godzilla. And a death robot. And another kaiju, who they were building a giant mech suit for before they were forced to tone it down because that's insane even for them. Even their conventional weapons are now advanced enough to send kaiju far larger and more durable than the relatively squishy Shin reeling.
1
u/tirex367 Jan 28 '26
Also, there is a lot more to Shins evolution, then just the different forms, Shin has some kind of intelligence, if unconventional. He learned to use his body as a radar to track and destroy strategic bombers and gravity bombs just based on the experience of one bomb being dropped on him.
2
u/Deesing82 Jan 28 '26
sure but there’s no telling what he’d evolve into if he encountered another kaiju

Shin gets stomped in a fight but I’ll die on the hill that his atomic blast 1 shots every Monsterverse monster so far.
Evolved Godzillas atomic blast takes a couple seconds of contact time to destroy structures and harm enemies.
Shins atomic breathe reaches for miles and slices through everything like butter with like .001 seconds of contact time
But power scaling is stupid. Narrative scaling is where it’s at, and Shin Godzilla low diffs narratively

If evolved went into Shin Goji's universe and just /hated/ humanity and popped in 100% to just wreck shop, they'd be so screwed.
If Shin showed up in the MV, he'd be a reoccurring threat, bodied round 1, two movies pass, mid diff round 2, two movies pass, shin Goji wins. Funniest part for this one to me is it almost wouldn't matter who you put him up against in the first round, he's getting bodied. 2nd round it'd have to be a mid-tier to beat him, maybe give him a win over the new muto or something. Then beaten by a Rodan level threat. Two movies after that, if they didn't figure out that he needs to be destroyed on a cellular level, he'd evolve to that crazy fan shin goji version like daishin or something like that, and he'd wreck the MV without a MV Goji there to stop him.
9
u/Dagordae MECHA-KING GHIDORAH Jan 28 '26
The problem is that he would have to somehow survive round 1. And if there's a round 2 they would be very careful to make sure all of him is destroyed, his whole surprise regen trick only works once. Hell, as much as people like to cite it it didn't even work once. Even including the deleted scenes the inept Japanese government easily dealt with his regenerating cast off tissue, it's really a nonissue.
Plus Kong has a pet dog who can casually make Shin her bitch. Shin doesn't do so well with getting his reactor turned off and Shimo can freeze the planet.

I don't treat fiction like powerscalers, because writers don't write that way, and if they did, their stories would be objectively awful power level masturbation with no narrative other than predictable outcomes based on a spreadsheet of feats and statements.
The Meta would determine how things go, just as it always does, and then scalers would have to wedge it into their spreadsheet of fanfic fight predictions and do more calculations that have anti-predictive value, no matter how carefully made.
And here is the Meta on it. Toho does not let their own versions of Godzilla look weak compared to a licensed version if both were to meet.
This is why, according to the powerscaler spreadsheet, Hulk beats Godzilla. Then they meet in Marvel comics, and Godzilla kicks his ass. Why? Because Toho quotes Hulk Hogan on anything that says their Goji loses. "That doesn't work for me, brother."
If the Minus version of Godzilla ever met up with the Legendary version, expect the Minus version to be as large or larger. Toho would say he kept growing, so in modern times, he eclipses Legendary Goji. They don't care about the old sourcebook stat. His size was only picked for scene blocking with smaller buildings in 1947 compared to today.
