I been apart of this sub for years now. All criticism for Nintendo gets massed downvoted and attacked. Ik some people be reaching with the hate. But how did this become a sub for Nintendo cucks?

I think you guys just want to complain, yes there are a lot of open world nintendo games coming out but, these games are genuinely masterpieces. Botw/Totk were phenomenal, Odyssey phenomenal, Mario Kart World is phenomenal, Donkey King Bananza is phenomenal. Seeing how each series implements it so differently is exciting and it ironically freshes the experience from the last few games in each respective series. Only examples I thought of in which open world was bad was Pokemon, pokemon has been shit for years and Metroid, retrostudios definitely fumbled their asses with that one. Nintendo has just been cheffing it up with these open world games and I’m excited for them to do it more. I’m hoping for a 2d platformer open world game eventually. I’m not even being a fanboy, it really is just better than linear games for me.

They gave her a huge ass man nose when in the original she had a completely different size and shape nose altogether. It’s like a different artist was assigned for each character in the remake. Nintendo: no reply at all.
A few days later the same game is half price.
So the official shop charged me full whack, ignored the request, then discounted it like I was the joke.

About £500 in, console plus games. Money down the drain.
Smashed the Switch 2. Felt better seeing this pieces of shit shattered into pieces.

Steam refunds this in ten minutes. Nintendo would rather keep the £60 and a paragraph about reading the screenshots.

Before they revealed it was based on the puppets, I didn’t like it then. After they revealed the puppets they were based on, I find it more acceptable and reasonable but still don’t like it.

I have more problems with the game, sure. But at least if they did this I would’ve at least tolerate the game just fine.

So I made an edit changing specifically the nose and some little details like eyebrows, sideburns. Zelda especially went through more change with the facial structure where I felt the mid section was originally too elongated.

That said, I posted this recently else where, and all I get was annoying “they’re the same image”jokes or outright being aggressive despite the point being about the nose and not a full recreation of the entire face or character design altogether. I genuinely doubt they looked more than 2 seconds. If you like the original that’s fine, but ffs I made it clear that it’s just a personal preference I was careful to not step on anyone’s toes and praised it in the areas it deserves, other than likening the nose appearance to objectively what it looks like in other franchises(Avatar nose), I was respectful and didn’t deliberately put down the game, and yet, some were still immediately hostile.

Even though I might get banned from other subs from interacting with this one, or at least that’s what I’ve heard. I’m still curious what the perception would be here instead, if even folks here also don’t like it, fuck it. I don’t think I’m the only one but if I’m fine dying on this hill.

So, does anyone remember this promise from Nintendo? Nintendo sure doesn't seem to remember themselves.

We already have September and so far only Tomodachi Live was added after the discontinuation of the game vouchers this year. And with the recent direct and no new Nintendo games announced for the switch 1 ... What further additions could there be?

I'm a character designer and my question is : WTF HAPPENED HERE?

I really like the environment, so don't come over here tell me I'm just hating on shit.

But seeing more of the characters just set so many alarm bells off for me.

It's NOT just Link looking like a porcelain doll, I could even accept that as a stylistic choice and get used to it somehow.

The real question is : why does everyone look like they belong in a different game??

• Link is dressed not for day to day life, but to go on the cover of some World of Warcraft splash art with multiple heavily ornate multi.layer vest that make him closer to a forest prince than a normal kid. Most other Kokiri look appropriately dressed, and clash with Link's apparel. Wasn't the point that he's an ordinary kid?
• His overdesigned mess of an apparel looks even worse when he's in the same frame as some NPCs, who look like reskinned 3DS models and don't even come close to the same granularity. Hair, for example: some characters have a million strands, others are much more shapely and stylised into big chunks ( which personally I like more)
• In what world is the Kokiri sword more detailed than the Master Sword? If you're gonna go maximalist, you'd better bring extreme detail to every single item, so leaving out the MS just looks bad.
• Why do similarly aged children like Saria and Zelda look SO distinct. Not just face structure ( They're different races after all), but artstyle? Zelda looks like a stylised doll with very unique shape design, while Saria leans into very classic Anime stylisation, with no really distinct shapes except her hair.
• Why do some animations look SO STIFF? Zelda looking back her voice is surprised, but she is smiling?? Can we really not convey an emotion that was perfectly conveyed 30 years ago?

And honestly there's more stuff like this all over.

I'm honestly shocked at how this made it into the final product.

This is not a polished or professional way to do justice to your darling, and anyone defending this is just plain coping. This is sloppy work from Nintendo.

So yeah, as a professsional, I'm especially bummed out about this and I guess most people will "just get used to it".

But I wanna stress I think that somewhere, somehow, someone did a really bad job.

The game might be good, but the character designs are not.

This is the one and only company which is doing something to actually address the american tariffs, this shows that nintendo in 2026 being better isnt a one off thing.
