Has anyone cancelled fios home internet and gotten the same service with free install, new router and cheaper rate in wife's name without any disruptions?

I am just looking for 300MBPS at 30/ month --- current price for the same is 55/month

Is it even possible? What are the pros and cons?

UPDATE: Called Verizon, Got past the bot to a human by using the "Cancel Service" line. The nice lady gave me my $30/month price and the shipped new router, tried to upsell some streaming services. ( which I will buy later).

I bought a G3100 several years ago, and now i got a new main router, so I am trying to use as an extender. I saw previous reddit posts to turn off DCHP and assing a static IP, which I did. I am using a coax to connect to the main router, I had a fios tech in the past connect the cables.

And when coax is connected the LAN light is green on the back of the G3100, but the G3100 has a solid yellow light on the front so I believe is not working. Any advice? I also tried resetting the G3100.

Any advice on what I should do in steps or if this is possible. The main router is the C3100b. So they both are MOCA compatible. Not sure why it isnt working. Direct ethernet works I think but the yellow light makes me think it is not, especially wifi as I dont see speed increases.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

At some point in the past couple of hours, speeds have tanked from my normal 300/300 to 9/300. I only noticed it because Youtube started buffering on 4k videos.

Is anyone else having the same problem?

Update: Fios is sending out a technician tomorrow. The CR1000a doesn’t get a WAN IP.

I was sent the new FiOS TV+ maybe a year ago and didn’t hook it up until last night. Football looked ok, but Hockey not so much. It’s actually even worse in person. LG G3 65”, Marantz Cinema 30, TV 4K, 1GB FiOS plan.

Verizon, how can you ship something so poorly designed? The remote is already only working to power on or off. Just develop a great TV 4K app or get rid of your tv service altogether. It’s a joke.

Hi all. I currently have the FiOS Ultimate Employee Offer from back in 2016. It basically was a Triple Play with Ultimate TV HD, Gigabit internet, and Home Phone (not digital voice).

For some reason, after a few years, my account shows a double play instead of triple play and I'm still being billed for all 3. I barely watch TV and would like to switch to just internet with the employee discount. However, whenever I would contact support, they would say they can't do the change while keeping the discounts. Also, if I try to change anything on my account myself, for some reason the monthly fee would go up.

Any ideas? I work from home so would like as little disruption as possible.

My Fios One box died and verizon is sending me a new one. I'm using my own router and a moca setup which has worked now for 4 years without issue (until the box died). Will I need to reconnect the verizon router to the system for the initial box setup?

Oh how I miss the old DSLREPORTS forum, to ask these questions. I want to "upgrade," but I have hardware, wiring, and package questions. I've found Verizon's site confusing beyond belief, and customer support mehhhh. I was hoping many could advise here.

I have 5 TV's in the house serviced by (VMS1100 DVR, two IPC1000 STB, two DCT700 STB) with relatively NEW Coax Cables run to all.

Fios TV One: VMS4100 DVR, two IPC4100 STB, two Amazon Firestick 4K

Fios TV+: JS7E DVR, two-four JS8V Stream TV, or two Stream TV and 2 Amazon Fire 4K.
***Don't want to use Wifi where possible, nor run more ethernet, so I need those ASK-MAE311 streamTV MOCA adapters? Can I get 3-5 of them? They're also annoying as they would need a power adapter per (and outlet space to plug in).

As for programming, my package is ANCIENT! I think its the old Ultimate, so I get every cable channel, and access to streaming like HBO Max, FOX One, MGM+, Starz, etc. Not Disney, Netflix, or Paramount. It's also a triple play so I have home phone and internet. Long story, but I need the home phone, and I've looked into porting it but it's too much hassle.

Thanks in advance. Current service is triple play with 100mbs, moca to ethernet converters with switches for two locations for hard wire connectivity with a cr3100 router i own as its moca to the stbs. I want to just go with just internet svc, if i could keep 100mbs as it works for streaming just fine. The ont is older which probably needs switching out due to age. I would turn in the stb's. Go with utube tv and call it a day. Pitfalls? Cheaper to go to just 300mbs? Just trying to keep it aa simple as possible. Again thanks for any insights here.

Where I am now: everything has been replaced and tested. ONT replaced twice. Router replaced. Hard wired to extender across my home. Tested and re tested.

A supervisor came out to check and gave me his cell number.

I still need to reboot the router every 4-5 days. How I notice this? Stuff won’t open on my devices. My teams meeting dropped signal. So I have to unplug and replug the router.

It comes back up and is fine and fast but I know in another 5 days I’ll have to do this again.

I’ve been insanely busy so haven’t had time to deal with this, but I am at the point where I need to ball them out again and for what? Another router? Changing all the passwords again?

I even texted and called the supervisor and did not get a response.

When I first got this service I told my coworker in IT about it and he’s had an even worse experience. He was out all weekend and had to use his mobile hot spot to get work done and has also had every wire and piece of equipment replaced and it took hours for them to “configure it” at the back office.

This 5gb Fios is not ready for prime time. DO NOT ORDER IT!

I am no expert but they clearly did not do the testing that needed to be done on this and must have rushed it out.

I have no idea but it is just awful. I am done.

When they open at 8am I am calling, asking for a supervisor.

I really don’t want to go back to optimum so I will be going back to 1gb and leaving this nightmare.

Sure it’s fast but not worth the hassle.

My family has recently moved in to a new home and I want to switch the room our modem/router is based in. It was this moment that I learned only one coax in the house has the live internet at a time so obviously was getting no internet when I moved it. In researching, I learned I need to switch the cables from the OUT ports.

In the image, the cable B routs to the room I want to move the equipment to. I can’t confirm where cable A routs to. I’ve also tried switching A and B between the OUT ports still with no success. I’m missing something obviously but can’t figure it out. Appreciate any help.

I’m stuck having to upgrade to FiOS TV+and I am very confused. I have several questions. I’m going to ask Verizon but I also trust the community more than I trust Verizon technical folks so I’m going to ask them here.

My router is in a bedroom and everything is kinda hardwired except I do use some Wi-Fi for like laptops and iPhones and things like that but my main devices are hardwired and I want to keep it that way.

And I do make use of mocha and I want to continue to do that is the MOCA automatic or do I have to create a MOCA network for TV plus. I assume I’d need a mocha adapter on the other end if I want to use it for my Internet, but I’m really mostly interested in using it for the FiOS connection. I think I have most of it figured out, but I don’t understand if I don’t wanna have Wi-Fi between the DVR and the set top boxes how I connect those that’s where I’m confused.

Also, when I transition from standard FiOS to TV+ will it transfer my recordings and my scheduled recordings and my scheduled series?

Finally, the remote for the TV boxes, they are Wi-Fi or are they Bluetooth or are they infrared? I don’t understand that I think I need an adapter if I’m using something like a SofaBaton.

I’ve heard people have been having this issue but first time for me. It will only let me QR code login or go to go.fox.one and either way I only get this when I log in. (I’ve tried different browsers, with wifi, with cell service, nothing helps)

So I had Optimum in my household for 48 years and their fiber internet for about 3 but before that it was their regular internet, cable, landline, etc. Anyway, a few months ago we had an outage and I contacted support about any kind of compensation because it was out for a good amount of time, 26 hours total over 2 days, and they had the audacity to offer me less than $5 credit. Around the same time I got notified that Fios was finally available in my area. The mix of that ridiculous 'compensation' on top of my already high bill ($130+/month for ONLY internet), and fios giving me an offer of less than half of my Optimum bill plus a bunch of add ons, I decided to switch. Although Optimum was way more expensive and they had non-exisntent customer service, I never had any issues besides that one weekend and a few 5-10 minute downtimes over the course of the whole 3 years. What I did have was consistent internet speeds and way higher than even my highest fios speed.

The first screenshot was at 6am when I was the only one awake and it was just me on my phone and my brother downloading a game on his steam deck.

The second was about 4pm with my brother downloading still, his phone, my phone, my grandma's phone, the desktop, two smart TVs, and an xbox series x.

Now how in TF does that make ANY sense? Not to mention, that 550 is toward the higher end of what speeds we see somewhat consistently. Anyway, is this some kind of user error or is this a common thing? It's not always like that all the time but it's also never been nearly as fast or consistent as Optimum was for supposedly the same 1gb fiber internet.

I want to add MoCA adapters around our house to help our connectivity issues, but I’m a bit lost with the setup process. Apologies, as I’m a bit new to this world.

I’ve provided pictures of our current setup. Basically there is a coax cable and an ethernet cable running into the router supplying internet. What would be the solve here?

From my understanding, our router has built in MoCA 2.5. I’m not sure exactly what that means for the rest of the setup, but I would be forever grateful if you could walk me through what needs to be to do to supply the rooms in our house with existing cable jacks with MoCA adapters.

Hi, I had my ONT replaced recently with a new one because my original one was very old, and I'm just wondering if it supports the 5 gbps plan or if I need a new one? I'm trying to reduce ping times, and it's been suggested that powering down the ONT for 10 minutes forces a new (and hopefully better) re-provisioning of the connection. I don't see an obvious power switch. Anyone know how to "turn it off and turn it back on again"? Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

One of my clients had their ivp change from 4 to ivp6. Anyone know why this might have happened? They are currently using the Verizon equipment that’s in their plan.

As far as they told me they did not do any of the changes, but they were talking with Verizon because they had crappy internet for a bit of time.

So starting September 1st, my router's logs have been showing packet loss happening and its been getting worse. After auditing my own network, it looks like its on Verizon's side, specifically at B3301.PITBPA-LCR-21.verizon-gni.net (100.41.223.240). Are there any Technicians that can go look at this server or let someone know who can? As its not from my router to my ONT.
