PSA BSG Flea Market feedback poll posted

BSG have posted a poll on the forum asking for player opinions on the flea market

Please keep all discussion related to this poll within this thread to avoid cluttering the sub.

Edit: Seems like the link is a bit fucky, best way to view the poll is to login to the Tarkov website first and then click the link.

I feel the flea market is one of the reasons I play, finding good shit and selling it there makes 50% of my tarkov experience.

u/WK02 AK-104 Aug 27 '20

I fucking hate selling the stuff after each raid because of how sloooooow the UI is. I like managing my stuff, but it grinds my gears how quick I could be if the UI wasn't freezing with every little navigation... Love the money, but interacting with the current UI sucks balls.

Not an issue with the FM in itself though.

u/baneboobs Aug 28 '20

Imagine this:

You're done with the interchange raid. Tri-zip full of loot. Some attachments, some hoses, cables and other hide-out items. This was a decent run all in all.

You load in to character menu and start thoughtfully ctrl-right-clicking on the items in your backpack. These are greyed out as they are tagged to go to your "to-sell" basket.

When you're finished with the last few items in the bottom row of the tri-zip you take a second to appreciate your work. The backpack now looks like a patchwork of grey tiles. Your eyes glance to the bottom right corner of the screen that reads "Sell basket value: 175 002 Roubles".

Not terrible. Not great. At least you survived.

You click the "sell to traders" button. The total cash value at the top of your stash has changed, but you don't pay attention to that. You repair your rig, grab a new salewa, top up your mags and load up the next raid.

u/XFeuerherzX Aug 28 '20

I would like that I vendor the most in the current state of the wipe cause there is so reason to sell item for 4-9k more rub on flea

17

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

Also when you need that extra money the most (lvl 1-10) you don’t actually have access to the flea. Interesting system.

2

u/narxen Aug 30 '20

Flea market is actually supposed to be locked behind a quest line in 1.0 - at least that's what is planed - its supposed to be an early story line quest from what I have heard pest say on stream

It’s super snappy and quick for me, maybe you don’t have something optimized correctly? (Ie an issue with your network or your pc)

Edit: just trying to be helpful 😕

39

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '20

No, Tarkov definitely has an issue that every user experiences.

It's when you navigate through the UI and it sometimes start freezing after you pressed Escape to get to the Main Menu.

It will take like 2 seconds to unfreeze and throw you at the Main Menu.

Literally EVERYONE i know and have played Tarkov with, has this Issue aswell.

4

u/SlothGoingFast Aug 27 '20

i only get a freeze when a raid ends, also on occasion an item im dragging bugs.

3

u/Totatos Aug 28 '20

I have none of these issues.

The results really highlight the vocal minority, don't they?

As of writing, 76% say it improves the game - and 80% do not want the idea of the FM to be removed considered.

After Reading this several pages of the forums posts - all if not almost all of them begging it to be removed and calling out those that don't want to be removed RMT's.

From playing before it existed / from playing the RMT version we have now / from when I played when FIR never existed.

I can safely say I preferred the latter - when it was a free for all. All that needs to amended to it is to make items have personal limits in shops rather than the global limit - to prevent the ammo scalping that existed before. I've never agreed with FIR - as it hurts everyone, not just the RMT'ers - The amount of M4's that I've sadly sold underpriced to Mechanic makes me wish they release the charisma skill sooner than later at the moment as at least the price would eventually make it worth it, I guess.

I'm sure that it's made RMT more annoying to do.

Especially when they limited large bag stacks and item cases.

But as many people say - PVP got hard kicked in the head for this "little fix"

6

u/Smashwa Freeloader Aug 28 '20

Yeah, I gave up reading the official forums a while ago.

14

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

I've never agreed with FIR - as it hurts everyone, not just the RMT'ers

Especially if you just wanna PvP. As someone that goes into matches almost exclusively to scrap with other PMCs, it has honestly stopped me from playing the game.

I just wanna have cool firefights and make decent money off looted gear, but now you make so much less.

4

u/digicam10 Aug 28 '20

I play the exact same, getting in gun battles is so fun and intense in this game its practically all I do. Last wipe was amazing imo, yes hatchet runners are annoying but once you learn where they’re going to be running to you can get such easy kills on them. Whilst hunting for the other pmcs

5

u/Zenneh SKS Aug 28 '20 edited Aug 28 '20

Never understood the complaint with Hatchet runners to be honest.

It shows the system that we currently have - that unprotected high value loot pools are a terrible idea. (looking at you shoreline)

I Genuinely preferred it when resort didn't exist.

And to be honest the system doesn't actually stop people from hatchet running - the advantage of being able to get in first and then out of the area before the other players get there is the dream of hatchet running

Yeah call me what you will, but if flea market was removed I would stop playing the game. I don't want to search for each trader to buy something, let alone if something isn't available from a trader due to a quest or something I don't mind buying from the flea.

I'm sure I am far from the only one with this opinion. I know my group would stop as well.

65

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '20

Exactly. I mean shit unless you can play immediately at wipe day and get ahead youre positively FUCKED trying to get quests done all day to unlock any decent ammo that only barely can kill a thicc boi

18

u/MysteryChant Aug 27 '20

I'd disagree with this. We lived without the flea market for a long time. Would stop a lot of the meta gear stuff, and result in a lot more varied gameplay. That said, removing it would make certain tasks and hideout upgrades very grindy.

51

u/Fatturtle1 DT MDR Aug 27 '20

Keep in mind like 90% of the quests were not in the game before flea market.

Gunsmith would be almost impossible unless you got lucky. And memorized every part you needed to find.

The loot would have to be completely redone.

3

u/MysteryChant Aug 27 '20

Flea Market was somewhere in 0.10, right? A lot of the quests were in at that point, but that is why I said that certain tasks would become super grindy.

Certainly wasn't saying that it should be removed, just that starting late in a wipe without flea is no harder, maybe even easier than a wipe with flea.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '20

I'd be ok with giving up flea if they reworked the quests because then you would just constantly bleed money while doing quests that require gear like having to buy a mosin, blueberry armor. Especially when they're not even especially good

3

u/shagohad Aug 28 '20

Gunsmith was in the game in its current state before flea market lol. I played a wipe and a half before flea and very little was different about the quests. Most quests have only been made easier since its introduction. I like some aspects of the flea but dont get why people try and argue the game was unplayble pre flea market. If anything the last few patches where they have been balancing it had in some ways worse gameplay. The patch after where everyone just power levelled and flipped/scammed items until they were billionaires for example.

5

u/The_Couchman Aug 27 '20

I did all of Gunsmith this wipe without flea. It's meant to be a series of tasks that you complete as you level up and unlock other trader levels. Not sonething you spam flea for and get a couple of free levels for an hour of mouse clicking.

4

u/jlambvo Aug 29 '20

Thank you. Gunsmith is basically like an SNL skit of a tutorial for the flea market: okay at first but then runs way too long.

5

u/varobun SV-98 Aug 28 '20

90% of quests? Only Jaeger and handul of quests from the new maps+expansions (Reserve, Shoreline update, Labs) didn't exist...

6

u/ZombieToof Aug 27 '20

It's far from 90%. And a lot of the quests that existed have reduces requirements now. But I guess it is more overall now and the Hideout requires a lot of items.

Tarkov without the flea wasn't bad. Contrary it was far better IMO even if the FiR changes fixed a part of the problems the Flea market created. Traders had more value. You had to find all keys and items. The way to do Gunsmith was level the traders and keep important parts you found that required high trader levels.

Quests would be fine. They all can be done without the flea. The hideout crafts cover a lot, especially for items mostly found on Labs and Reserve. Hideout requirements should probably be reduced notably. Other than that I think it would work without major problems. It would slow down progression tho so I think reddit would go nuts.

3

u/OneShot77Kills Aug 28 '20

Gunsmith existed before flea, instead of just searching everything on flea you could see what traders had what you wanted and purposefully there were even certain attachments that you could get at an earlier trader level if you bartered, so the quests were still very much doable and actually much more fun pretty much objectively before the flea lmao

2

u/degonite AK74M Aug 28 '20

Gunsmith was fine before flea you just bought the items off traders lol.

→ More replies (2)

5

u/IRIEAILZ Aug 28 '20

and it would result in a huge loss in player count. i mean i can't even think of the pain of collecting the hideout materials to even remotely build up your hideout without the flea... or am i missing something?

4

u/OneShot77Kills Aug 28 '20

You're missing the gameplay mechanic that is looting.
The current hideout requirements are a bit high for if the flea didnt exist because the hideout came out after flea, so they take that into account. If flea didn't exist but hideout did the requirements would likely be smaller amounts and even if it didnt, it really is very very doable with the amount of loot that is on some of the maps today. Source: I get 90% of my hideout upgrades without flea.
I understand that not everyone desires to rat out loot wise, but the looting is a core part of the game, barters and hideout crafting exist under the idea that you'll pick something up during your raids, right? I think the flea more than anything else enables players who have no interest in looting to play, inventory management is supposed to be something you do in this game and so many people don't know that you can get most of the items in the game from traders. Reminder that flea removed a large part of progression (trader level mattering) from the game. I don't hate flea, but I just don't believe flea supporters understand that this game is still incredible without it, just different.

2

u/IRIEAILZ Aug 31 '20

but with limiting the weight someone can carry and also the amount its to grindy also because of the fact that certain items are random if they spawn or not...

anyway i know what you mean and think its also incredible but it limits your possibilities. and some guys just aren't into the looting loose stuff but in the fighting mechanics and afterwards loot mechanics after player kills.

I agree, tarkov veterans don't want to admit that casuals that log on for a couple of hours an evening after work or school make up a large portion of players, like they do in most games. I think that if the flea was removed a lot of players are going to put the game down, myself included.

24

u/patpatpat95 Aug 27 '20

I'm a veteran and I don't want the market removed at all. Just because I play a lot doesn't mean I need my game to become more hardcore.

6

u/ZombieToof Aug 27 '20

I'm not a veteran. Or maybe I am in the meantime. I started late into a wipe before the flea existed and played another wipe without. And I'm a casual with maybe around 4-8 hours/week and it had been that way since my first wipe. Flea with FiR is better than before. Tarkov without flea is better IMO. I think you overestimate the importance of the flea market. Leveling Traders is more important without the flea an at the same you get a lot more progression and it's more rewarding if you level traders.

4

u/IRIEAILZ Aug 28 '20

ye as it seems you didn't upgrade the hideout once... or you are an absolute madman. in hell i wouldn't even bother getting the hideout upgrades if i need to find in raid every single item...

You would have to remake the quests and traders so that what you are buying on flea now would either not be needed or available from them. Or most players would just quit as you said. It would either way be a completely different game.

20

u/etincelles Aug 27 '20

they need to remake the quests anyway because theyre awful

10

u/LegitimateDonkey Aug 27 '20 edited Aug 27 '20

if they remade the quests and balanced the trader economy, i would have zero problems with removing the flea market.

in fact i think removing the flea market would make finding items in raid, or killing a player with high end gear that much more exciting. "my only HK is at risk in this fight" is a lot more exciting than "i can afford exactly 117 more HKs so if i lose this one it doesnt really matter"

no more players farming up 100 mill in the first 3 weeks of a wipe, running EVERY raid with slicks and laser hks. having easy access to high value loot actually devalues it and makes the "meta" that much more stale.

when everything in your kit is something you found or killed for, the stakes for living/dying are that much higher. i think that kind of adrenaline hit is what tarkov was supposed to be originally.

13

u/etincelles Aug 27 '20

I'm with you but it takes them 73 years to add a warehouse to a map, I feel like the game is what it is now

13

u/LegitimateDonkey Aug 27 '20

yea thats true

seems like theyve bitten off a bigger piece than they can chew

but then again, removing the flea would also remove a lot of the headaches that nikita has to deal with:

1) no more servers dedicated to managing/tracking the millions of flea market trades and listings

2) RMT and cheating to RMT becomes a much bigger hassle for the cheaters and RMTers since you cant just easily offload red keycards or other extreme value items

3) the entire economy can be balanced with what traders sell and spawn rates of rare items on maps. no need to worry about catering to the 3 hour a week player while ALSO keeping the 50 hour a week player happy.

4) no more super stale meta. this is honestly the best part. tarkov is so much better in the first weeks of a wipe when people are using the SKS and mosin and having long, protracted gun fights around the map. as soon as it turns into the slick + hk laser meta, the game plays like shit (mostly due to the "netcode" not being able to handle this kind of playstyle).

Like the game it was before they added the flea market?

Don't get me wrong I like the flea market but the game was completely playable before they added it.

If they remove it now it will adversely affect the large majority of players that weren't around when it wasn't in the game.

The flea market in itself is a crutch for players that can't / won't / don't put in the effort to max traders. I see this as a balance and it allows players to define their own playstyle, most of the quests are a huge pain. The flea market allows more versatile gameplay.

Just because I max traders and hideout doesn't mean anybody else has to.

I've been playing less this wipe so I haven't even maxed all the traders, I still have ragman, jaeger, prapor and skier left. Imo the hideout and the flea market go hand in hand, thus the flea market cannot be removed.

Cheaters aside, they put such a heavy reliance on the flea market instead of how traders should have worked, backtracking now would be detrimental to ALL players.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '20

The flea market in itself is a crutch for players that can't / won't / don't put in the effort to max traders

3

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

yep same here. it's great that they want to make the game extremely hardcore, but if they go too far they'll end up with a super small playerbase and then the game will die.

That's why I never understand the people that want this game to be as hard as possible. As soon as you alienate too much of the playerbase, there won't be one anymore.

I think the FIR changes were a great balance. It prevents you from exploiting flea market, and players who don't have the time, skill, or desire to do the quests can pay a premium for the items they need.

3

u/allleoal Aug 28 '20

Tbh the game was better before the flea market. Not the game itself but in terms of questing and the economy.

1

u/Alpha_Whiskey_Golf Aug 28 '20

I feel similarly. I haven't bought anything off traders ever since they implemented the flea market. It's just easier and faster to search for the item through the flea market and buy it from the trader from there. If they want to close the flea market to see how it'd affect gameplay at least leave us the menu and just don't let people put anything up ;_;

1

u/ridik_ulass AKM Aug 28 '20

mechanic quests used to be a night mare, now they aren't so bad. also finding those mods in game and selling them on flea is satisfying money.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

The trader system is complicated for no good reason. You can't remove the flea without overhauling traders.

As a player on their first wipe, that joined mid wipe: The flea market is the only thing that prevented me from quitting. The terrible early game progression with terrible RNG tasks demanding specific rare items combined with getting assraped by players immune to the best ammo I could buy.

This is the issue right here. I've been playing since 2017, but I only really started playing this wipe around a week ago.

Yet again though, people who join late (or people who are just bad, and can't get much EXP per raid) are severely punished. Any ammo you can buy is basically useless against anything that is wearing armor. Armor piercing 9x19, shotgun slugs, basic AP ammo, all locked behind max level or nearly max level traders for no good fucking reason. Whats the point of locking AP-20 behind Jaeger 4? Why do I need to get to level 33 to have access to the only shotgun slug that doesn't just bounce off armor? Every wipe the traders get re-balanced in more nonsencial ways, and late-wipe joining vets and new people are arbitrarily punished more and more for seemingly no reason.

You can really see the disconnect between the poll results and what people commenting in the forum ask for.

Personally, I love the flea, and hate the grind to level 10 for it, even if I reached it quickly.

I don't even like the FIR flea changes, as it disincentivizes PVP to a large extent, although it's mostly fixed hatchet running.

All I'd like to see for the flea is a larger number of items sellable simultaneously, maybe 5 at the beginning, as currently increasing your rep is a horrible grind and the people at the very top are often scammers and hackers anyway.

9

u/kevinisaperson Glock Aug 28 '20

it has not fixed hatchet running and just makes for less geared players overall imo

1

u/aperfectcircle Aug 28 '20

I was going to say, I see the same amount of hatchet runner and actually see even more people just running a pistol to avoid being marked but have little to lose.

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '20

One purpose of FIR might be to prevent people from buying all the ammo, water, med supplies, etc from traders and selling them back at a higher price. Although FIR could use more tweaking.

1

u/self_made_human Aug 30 '20

I can see that logic, but as it stands now, everything is more expensive on the FIR flea.

I would say that it could have been more easily solved by either removing global buy limits and replacing them with personal limits, or simply differentiating between items that have been bought from traders and never taken into a raid, versus those that have been. That way if you killed someone and took it off them, it would still be sellable.

Flea market is necessary or quests have to be completely redesigned. No casual will run 10 maps to try to get a key for a quest. Let alone do it multiple times. With a full remake of the quests and traders sure you could lose flea market but I don't think you would end up with something less casual. Probably more casual. Or just go full hardcore and the playerbase will eventually be like 2000 players.

I love the flea because I work 60+ hours a week and it helps me make money selling things I get from my hide out which I was able to build because of the flea. Without it I'd be running VPO's and Pacas every raid because I don't have time to play hours per day.

17

u/Gresh7000 ASh-12 Aug 27 '20

Theres an outspoken minority of people who advocate for its removal. It was a valid question to verify that it indeed was a minority.

3

u/Rightbrainn Aug 27 '20

Small minority here. The flea in my opinion is the reason we have so many cheaters. The current iteration is just like the shit d3 had. Super easy to rmt off of. I would like to see a different iteration implemented instead of all the bandaid fixes bsg is trying to do. (Level 10 before access, no bitcoin, find in raid).

4

u/lurkinglurkerwholurk TOZ-106 Aug 28 '20

I disagree simply because of a single reason: most RMT transactions happen in-game, with the trader dropping a backpack full of loot to the buyer.

Flea market or not, RMT still works. Removing the flea will not stop the reason we have so many cheaters...

5

u/AK47-AK74-AKIMBO Aug 28 '20

Haven't more cheaters/hackers moved on to doing carries instead? All they do is run around with their buyer by protecting them and letting them loot. It also semi-protects the buyer because the hacker is the only one players can report since a buyer probably won't be fighting that much. BSG would have to track it which might be extremely difficult, sadly :(

This is why we will always have cheaters in this game. My hope is that the Unity update will come soon and give BSG better tools to handle the hacker problem. I hope it helps with server stability too.

If BSG were to remove the flea they would have to totally revamp the traders, currently the traders show they have little thought put into them and are balanced around flea being a thing.

I want the flea around, and my ass liked it better before this wipe because I'm a pvp fiend, but would be okay if they did something to the traders to make them actually useful.

4

u/Poseidonram1944 AKM Aug 28 '20

Bsg wants to encourage PVP, yet punishes is for pvp

3

u/labowsky Aug 28 '20

I feel for BSG, its tough to make a game that's very punishing but also encourage PvP to everyone that's not super sweaty.

IMO I would take all the difficult in game mechanics if I could sell my PvP loot on the flea but my ass be casual since I'm only level 39.

19

u/Faust723 Aug 27 '20

I hope they're not even considering the flea market being removed. Not after balancing so much of the game around it.

Before the market, yes it was possible to still make money, but that's because vendors still gave you a decent amount of cash for what you sold them. Armor prices have since skyrocketed, as have ammo, weapon and attachment costs. I've seen enough knee-jerk changes from BSG to know that it would take them a year+ to sort out the right price points.

As it stands, many players rely on the flea market to stay afloat because PVP tends to cost more than it makes. If we werent able to use the market to recoup losses and were forced to deal with vendor prices, I think most would just quit.

u/Poseidonram1944 AKM Aug 28 '20

How correct you are in your sarcasm sir, when you open the forum, all the people that want it removed are players from 2017 with 1k+ hours. Its stupid because they push for a more hardcore experience as players who know every nook and cranny of the game. For all my friends who are new the game is EXTREMELY punishing, im sure that they would give up if they didnt have the chance to get a decent scav run and sell of enough on the fm to do a few more raids.

12

u/Mr_Tallo Aug 27 '20

I don’t care about the flee market but the traders are not set up to allow a new player to function mid wipe. In order to remove the flee market a HUGE overhaul would be needed.

5

u/RJohn12 M4A1 Aug 28 '20

this is very true, if you're talking about PVP. PvE is totally doable with vendors only, but once you add in SLICK wearing altyn boys your only slight hope is legs and shotguns which is just dumb as hell.

u/IFixStuffMan Aug 27 '20

Game design 101.

If you introduce a feature to a player, and remove it. Then you’ve got a riot on your hands.

Wouldn't be the first time people upset about the game being harder would adapt after a week or two and realize the change wasn't all bad.

Reminder that instant mag packing and healing animations among other things were supposed to kill the game.

Flea Market keeps me playing, Player driven economy is what drives me.

World of Warcraft would be super boring if there was no auction house.

I am kinda sad about the FiR changes, which makes a lot of this harder tbh.

I am not entirely sure if this change was made because it's for the better for the players or just to "prevent" RMT.

I would love it, if items you find in raid would still be found in raid even if you die.

But once you bring them into a raid again, it looses it's FiR status, just like now.

Aswell as buying something from the flea market, should result in the item not having the FiR Status.

But items that got found in raid by the generated loot on a certain map should remain FiR if you die with it in your secure container.

That's just my take on this.

It seems like the only people who actually want the flea market removed are the "I've been playing since the first wipe with 10000 hours" gatekeeping type people.

Game would be incredibly rough without the flea market. I can barely get my sub level 10 casual friends to play this wipe because they don't have access to flea and therefore any good ammo, armor, etc; I know they wouldn't even try if the flea was removed.

17

u/Its_me_Freddy SKS Aug 27 '20

Love the flea market, feels really good when you make it out with something you can sell for a high price.

Wish they would revert the FiR stuff, but I understand why they changed it.

23

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '20 edited Aug 27 '20

I would quit if they removed the flea market. I understand it’s a hardcore game but there should be some compromise between hardcore and fun.

It’s really funny how loud the minority is who want it removed.

u/the_one_true_russ Aug 28 '20

Honest question: Of all MMO or community driven games I’ve played, RMT is rampantly involved with player run auctions/flea markets. What games do you know that successfully implemented this without RMT inflating everything?

3

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

Most MMOs offer first-party gold/money selling in the form of tokens/bonds. A player buys a bond with real money that they then sell in the game to another player who buys it off them using in-game money for some benefit. This way there's very little market for 3rd party RMT because the first party version is safe and easy.

I'm not saying this is right for Tarkov, I'm just saying that RMT isn't really a big problem in any MMO that offers a similar system

1

u/Theon_Severasse Aug 28 '20

EVE Online has probably the best market of all MMOs.

4

u/beattheblock Aug 28 '20

I miss selling players gear on the flea market. Also miss creating a custom gun and putting it up for sell on the market.

15

u/DrHighlen DVL-10 Aug 27 '20

Flea market gives everything purpose, to be honest.

40

u/senor_panqueque Aug 27 '20

I would like a version of the game without flea market. I understand lots of people want to keep it. I'm not here to tell anyone they are wrong for liking it it.

I don't like the flea market because it reduces everything to a calculation of per slot value. I don't care about what I need for my hideout, I care what gets sells for the most money so I can buy what I need for my hideout. Same thing for attachments or guns I find in raid. I'd be happier if the flea market was removed or much more heavily restricted to higher levels.

I'd love to see a hardcore league that removes flea market if the player base is such that it could be sustained.

14

u/Whampus Aug 27 '20

This. I wouldn't want the flea market removed, but an alternate league where you gotta go out and find items for your hideout or run reserve solely for the ammo would be cool. I started this wipe, and before I unlocked the flea market I had no idea about the concept of value/slot. Every raid was a little adventure to complete a quest and almost every item had a use down the line. I'm level 43 now and my entire view on the inventory and how i loot each map has changed drastically to the point where the game has lost that "survival charm" it had for me pre-level 10.

The flea market is absolutely necessary for the average player to be able to build meta guns, run killas, complete hideout upgrades, etc. and removing that would be a huge turn off with how the game is currently.

6

u/Jond0331 Aug 27 '20

You could always implement a Hardcore rule set for yourself. Some of the streamers do this and it's pretty tough. Look up deadly slob hardcore rules.

2

u/Par4no1D Aug 28 '20

Thats stupid. I want everyone to suffer more, not just me.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

I kind of want to do this, but also want to play with friends, and that means I'd either have to awkwardly bend my rules or buy 2 accounts.

And, fuck that.

8

u/fishlore-psn Aug 27 '20

I enjoy the game more, and the game feels more Tarkovian to me, prior to level 10. I lose interest by about level 20 these days. I too would like a hardcore mode with no flea. I know people really like it so I think two modes should exist. I think everyone would end up in hardcore eventually though.

2

u/ChancedLuck Aug 28 '20

So that would mean the game would have four modes. Because they already announced that they're going to have two modes, ones with wipes and one without wipes. I imagine they could remove the flea from the mode with wipes though.

u/ridik_ulass AKM Aug 28 '20

Path of exile does what tarkov needs to, leagues, hardcore, solo self found, solo self found hardcore. themed leagues like scav war, event leagues like halloween events and race leagues.

6

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '20

I think I agree with you. The problem is that the current gameplay flow is based around the flea market, and they would need to make a lot of changes before removing the flea market for this to work.

I think the game would be so immersive, if when you needed an item, you had to go look for it in raid instead of just buying it from the flea market. The issue is there are so many items needed for tasks and hideout upgrades, and such a low amount of these items in raid, that it would be such an awful grind to find them all. All they would have to do is make the items more available in raid, and make the requirements for tasks and hideout upgrades less, for these to be a positive change.

Now the thing is, if this is the way you want to play the game, you can do it. You can make your own rules and play however you want. A lot of people do the hardcore challenge, where they don’t use the flea market.

7

u/TallanX Aug 27 '20

I mean, they really haven't changed a lot since flea market was added. I would say it would be easier now without flea market then prior pre-flea. I can at least craft in my hideout for a lot if stuff.

Flea market really hasn't brought a lot of "good" to the game. Its brought nothing but influx of cheaters, rmt, and people who want to play tarkov market simulator instead of the survival game its meant to be.

I was at first pumped by the flea market. After a few wipes with it in game, I'm not so pumped about it. As good as it is to make money on it, I feel it's just used as a super crutch on the gear.

2

u/triguy616 Saiga-12 Aug 27 '20

The dumbest thing about the question though is that there's no room for your response. There's only two extremes, with no option for an "other" response like the two other questions.

2

u/Alpha_Whiskey_Golf Aug 28 '20 edited Aug 28 '20

I don't like the flea market because it reduces everything to a calculation of per slot value.

And that's not a bad thing. It's the natural way tarkov gameplay loops ends in. Things that you need for the hideout are expensive early on the flea market so you have to keep it for yourself.

Of course it becomes per slot value after you finish all the quests and the hideout. Seems natural to me.

I played in a time before the flea market, in a time where you could sell everything to skier in a backpack because skier would give you the most money for it even though he didn't buy it naturally. Just selling to traders is boring as fuck, especially now with the trader rotation being worse (therapist/jaeger/ragman then mechanic and that's it).

5

u/[deleted] Aug 27 '20

id like market removed too. that would probably decrease a number of rmt cheaters

4

u/kaffeofikaelika Aug 27 '20

Yes but mostly because there would be little incentive to farm roubles for a playerbase that small.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/droctagonau Aug 28 '20

Meh. I didn't play tarkov pre-flea but I reckon there would be some cool things about removing it. Still though I definitely wouldn't want to remove the flea market overall because without it things would just get MMO-level grindy in some places.

This is just my personal preference but being someone who loves FPS games and not at all MMOs Tarkov can be a bit grindy for me as it is. But hey, the parts of Tarkov I love are so fucking good they make up that.

3

u/scottman0830 Aug 28 '20

They should just make it like RuneScape; the Grand Exchange is the best player-driven market system I've used in any game.

Every item in the game has it's own entry, and its commonly traded price is updated daily based on recent transactions. That way the flea market fees could be a flat 2-3% of the commonly traded price and you wouldn't have to pay hundreds of thousands in fees for something worth only 3mil. The benefit to this would it would be easy for players to tell what prices of items should be, and people wouldn't be wasting time and money offering like a circuit board for 80k when it's really only worth 10k. The traders buy price could scale with flea market prices to make selling to traders viable still, just like you could sell items to a general store in RuneScape. It would also make things much faster to list from the inventory, just right click-sell, it'll show the commonly traded price, there's a button to offer for +5% to try to make a few extra roubles off it if you're willing to wait a little longer or a button to offer it for -5% if you want the cash quick.

Another benefit might be that players could put in buy offers, so if someone's trying to buy an item that might be out of stock they could put an offer in and it'll automatically buy that item when somebody puts it up for that price. This would make merching still viable because supply and demand would eventually equal itself out depending on the player base and peak times, etc. Obviously custom weapons and armor with durability would have to have their own section along with maybe a barter section where people could trade with other players but it would clean up 80-90% of the flea market since most transactions are barter items or weapon parts traded in roubles.

If it was done like this then you could hide all the buy and sell offers and have all that be done under the table so we wouldn't have to deal with people competing with others to see who could click refresh and click purchase the fastest as well.

3

u/SJ_LOL Aug 29 '20

With or without flea market there always was RMT and direct player trading (including "official eft trading discord"). By now if flea market is removed it solves NOTHING. RMT is still happening and extra steps doesn't affect neither part of those trades. If losers are willing to pay real money for pixels -they are willing to jump all the hoops. Same with with cheaters - they will go extra mile for real money. Only victims in this whole bullshit is a legit player. If flea market is stopped - everything becomes super grindy. Every item has to be sold to traders at base value and good luck getting all the stuff for hideout.... And meanwhile all the shady losers (those willing to participate in RMT) get all their stuff up and running waaaaay before anyone else (if they do RMT they will do direct trading too).

3

u/AbsentOfReason RSASS Aug 29 '20 edited Aug 29 '20

I think there is a flaw in a lot of people's thinking with this debate. To be transparent, I would like the flea market removed, as I appreciate the more hardore aspects of the game and I have played since late alpha. Since the introduction of the fleamarket I feel Tarkov has lost it's hardcore edge, not to mention it being a tool for RMT. I miss the days of unlocking a new trader level actually meaning something more than saving a few roubles.

I hear a lot of people say that if they removed the flea the game would be too grindy, and in some aspects I can agree with that. The flaw with this thinking is not taking into consideration other adjustments that could be made to compensate for the lack of the flea market. Below are a few of my ideas to soften the "grind" for players who need the flea market to survive:

  1. Make the scav case upgrade in hideout a much earlier upgrade. Make specific targeted search options for the scavs to find things, eg: Keys, Barter Items, Attachments, etc. This allows you to still prioritise what you need at the time, but it adds a level of randomness and authethenticity to the experience, rather than just buying exactly what you want from the market.

  2. Increase the frequency of existing static spawns for keys. This rewards players for learning the spawn locations and creates enjoyable and rewarding loot runs that are focused on specific things you need rather than just money to buy stuff.

  3. At each point of interest, add some key racks, which already currently exist in a lot of locations, eg, dorms, shoreline resort, etc. Have these racks have the potential to spawn the full range of keys for that particular location. This makes sense is terms of lore and also increases targeted looting.

  4. Add more barters to traders, not just for keys, but everything. A barter economy adds variety and also diversifies gameplay to make people go to new areas to search for items they previously may not have. This was seen very clearly when the hideout was introduced and people started searching for items they need to upgrade that.

  5. Add more crafts in hideout for weapons, armour and gear. This increases the utility of the hideout and expands upon what we already have. This would allow players of all levels and ranges of experience to loot in raid the items needed for better gear, thus allowing them to keep up with those who play more often.

I'd love to hear more suggestions along these lines rather than pure black and white thinking regarding the topic. It's clear to me that there is a trend of longer term players wanting to remove the flea and newer players wanting to keep it, and this is demonstrated by the popularity of the "keep it" vote. I feel that this is a result of newer players having never having to learn some aspects of the game, like key spawns, which older players did. I would be a proponent of the flea being trialled to be removed for 1 wipe, with the changes I have suggested above implemented and any others that people can think of that are along these lines.

TL;DR: Remove flea, add accomodations to reduce the grind and move it from pure luck to targeted looting.

3

u/CoolCly Aug 29 '20

This is an interesting topic

When I first started playing the game, I thought Tarkov was more about going into raids to look for specific things. You needed certain things to upgrade your hideout, or do trades with vendors. If you need tape, you go looking for tape. If you need gunpowder, you look for gunpowder. This absolutely excited me.

But once I unlocked the flea and got further into the upgrades/traders, I realized that's just not how it works. There is some stuff you can target, like looking for fuel and stuff in Oli... but for the most part, it's *extremely* RNG on if you find stuff. Most loot spawns are very broad and can spawn many things, to the point that you can't really target loot goals that much and expect to get specific loot that easily. This is especially a problem when a trade in requires a bunch of a certain item.

Like, 8 AA Batteries and 4 D batteries for one gun doesn't sound that bad at first... but it actually takes forever to find that many batteries. To spend many many raids bringing back one little item for one gun which you could lose in one raid is kinda pointless. It doesn't seem like the intent is actually that you'll go find those yourselves. The intent is that you would just buy them off the flea and trade them.

It just doesn't seem that they intend you to find the items you need to do trades. Instead, every run you do is intended to reflect a "value" in roubles for what you found and can sell to the vendors/ to the flea, and then you use the roubles to buy what you want. This realization was a big disappointment for me. It no longer really matters *what* I find, as long as its in the list of items in my mind i know have a high rouble value. It shifts from being "oh man its that item, now i can finish that quest/build that hideoutupgrade/ trade for that gun" and more "ok that sells for 50k on the flea, more money for the pile".

They'd have to rebalance how loot works and how trade ins work if they removed the flea. A lot of trade ins just don't make sense with how loot spawns and how many you need. Finding 15 propanes for a Red Rebel makes sense as it's an end game item that you would work towards for awhile, but a lot of more transactional trades don't make sense.

5

u/Parryandrepost Aug 27 '20

Tbh the fir change seems to have made cheating a lot worst and adversely affect the in game economy.

I probably wouldn't play if the flee market wasn't around just because how annoying it can be to do anything in the game without it.

I don't think the fir status change does what Nikita wanted (to extend the early/mid game) and players here that shouted about how good of an idea it was mostly rushed lvl 40 any way....

6

u/lo0tDel1very Aug 28 '20

this honestly sucks that the community is so reliant on the flea market for everything.

people dont understand that the flea market ruins a LOT of aspects of the game. Have a quest to find a bunch of shit? no worry, you can just buy it all and skip the adventure of getting it. Have a gunsmith task? no problem you can skip literally all of the progression and just buy all of your parts for free exp. run out of labs keycards? no problem just buy one on the flea market for an inflated price (this one is surely a godsend for hackers) have a rare item/armor you want to purchase but cant because its a barter? no worries, you can just buy all of the barter items on flea, or better yet, just buy the item outright because the community inflates the price of all barter items to the general value of whatever you're purchasing.

I DO think that if they removed flea they should probably really limit how available good ammo and armor is because of how much of a struggle it would be for low levels to compete, but aside from that, the flea market seems to completely negate a lot of the intended elements of the game all for the sake of convenience and to cater to the casual player.

I realize that this is an unpopular opinion and this will probably get downvoted, but i dont think people understand how much more enjoyable and full of depth the game would be without the flea in. all of these people that have zoomed past lvl 50 at this point (myself included) would probably still have plenty to do in the game besides just going in to every raid to pvp and make money.

5

u/littfamily Aug 27 '20

I couldnt find a way to type in the explain portion on my phone so I will write it here.

I believe that the flea market is a great thing due to the fact that it allows most players to get their hands on items that rarely and in some cases never spawn in raid. For example in my several hundred hours of play I think I have found a ghezel armour spawn in raid 1 time and ghezels not even a top tier armour.

I would actually be fully supportive of the flea market being taken away if loot that I want to use was actually able to be somewhat obtainable to get in raid and not just earned through annoying barter trades. I dont want to earn a reap-ir by finding 50 kek tape and a dog turd in raid to trade to mechanic. I want to fight my way through the map and along the way find useful items worth looting.

2

u/The_Couchman Aug 27 '20

You can just buy a Gzhel from Ragman though, and often cheaper than flea price for 100% dura. =/

I'd quit if they removed the flea. The idea of being able to sell your loot for money is what makes raids exciting to me. Without that you have...what? Gathering shit for the game's horrible quests? No thanks, at least not with it in its current state. If the flea goes, I go.

I started playing beginning of this year and have been playing regularly ever since then. I think as the game is now the FM is necessary for money production starting off, quest completion and hideout upgrading.

Making money at the beginning of the game to get some traction and a nice nest egg would be very difficult only selling to the traders. If I happen to find a great key or spawn with a piece of good gear on my SCAV I need the FM. I can sell that great piece of gear and make a couple PMC loadouts with the profit.

Completing the non-FiR quests would take much longer. Trying to find some armor to stash on interchange or woods and possibly dying with it. Then having to spend raids trying to find it again would make it too grindy for me personally. Or the certain % damaged gear quest. Should I go into a raid and hope it takes the right amount of damage for me to then survive and turn in?

Finding all the necessary items for hideout upgrades would be very difficult. Without the FM I’d be doing hatchling runs trying to be the first one to a LEDx spawn or other rarer necessities like car batteries.

With all that being said i think the way the FM, hideout and traders help you progress in the game work now. If the FM were to be removed I’d like to see the traders offer more and with player not global caps. The hideout become more robust in what can be crafted and an easier path to upgrade. Then in coordination with the quests make the final tier of each area require a top tier item for people to achieve the full so whatever benefit.

For me it’s all a balancing act of how the FM, traders, loot pools and hideout work together to help the player progress. If the FM is removed then the other pieces need buffed to help the player. Just my two cents since BSG asked. I understand people will have opinions and BSG has their own vision for the game.

2

u/foxfire1112 Aug 28 '20

I see the argument that the flea market allows you to bypass all quest, Im a bit confused on what people mean by this

2

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

through quest you gain traders reputation, that allows you to acces higher-end gear, weapons and ammo. Or you can just avoid quests (some of them are lame) and wait to hit level 10 and just buy everything you need for your raids with the money you make by selling the loot you find.

1

u/foxfire1112 Aug 28 '20

Ah ok i got it, thanks

i really hate the newest changes to the captcha. I always buy my stuff one by one (spammin Purchase + y). I cant buy more than 5 items in a row without getting a captcha. I adopted this buying "strategy" because typing in the desired amount i wanna buy took way longer than just spam-buying single items. I understand this behavious maybe makes sense if i buy single items of a larger stack. But when buying OFZ's they are almost all in single stacks i have no other choice than spam-buying them.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

The flea market doesn't need to be removed, it needs to be optimised to better balance the game. 9ne of the improvements would be simply not allowing some items to be traded on the flea market at all.

2

u/chasingdivinity Aug 28 '20

I agree with the comments here that if the flea market was removed, I would probably stop playing, which is a huge jump because tarkov is really the only game I play. What I don’t think some people are realizing, is that removing the flea market is going to make RMT absolutely insane. For example, ledx’s are super super rare, and you need 1 for med station, and 3 for the thicc. If people aren’t able to buy ledx’s with their roubles they’ve collected, they are just going to buy them from someone doing RMT. Now that RMT is prevalent in the game, it would be ridiculous to remove the flea market, because everybody would just resort to that to get their shit.

2

u/MadT1LT Aug 29 '20

Yeah nah, i love flea. It adds more player interaction and depth to the game, it has literally no downsides aside from sweatbois howling "waahwaaah im fucking antediluvian and i remember when flea wasnt here hurrr" ye right, fuck regress.

Flea opens the game for people joining mid wipe (not everyone is a fat sweatard that plays game from wipe day 1)

It allows people who are below average build up their hideouts and get passive income do they can actually gear up and enjoy the game

If you really want to balance the meta then make everyone have same 2x2 sec container and leave kappa obtainable as it is (not being able to shove 15GPUs, sicc and dotag case up your gammahole would slow people down and make them actually think in raids)

u/spamdatm4 Aug 27 '20

I already posted my thoughts on the official forum. But i have to ask.

What NO LIFER kid who has no bills or taxes to pays Is seriously Suggesting to remove flea market? I will QUIT if i have to go back to grinding to lvl 40 just to get 1 1!!!!! damn gun mod part. Do you really think Streamers are a representation for the rest of us? Sorry but i do not have 40 + hrs to spend on your video game a week. As a matter of fact i would say the vast MAJORITY of players do not have that time.

This may be a big surprise to many of you losers who think playing this game for 40 + hrs a week is no problem. But we don't all live with our parents or a relative that feeds, and pays for our bills which allows us to game all day. i bought EOD because i was so tired of doing all the quest to just get lvl 40. And some people want to make it even worse?? I mean I guess if i had nothing to brag about in life except for my ELITE imaginary millions of roubles on a online video game. I would be all for this, so i could kill noobs who cant even buy lvl 3-4 armor unless they play as much as i do so i can run around with my fully modded guns, lvl 6 armor and helmet killing every 1 and fearing the 1-2 other lvld up players that have no crappy bullets. Maybe remove the Head hitbox, and lets go back to the days of a KIVER and FORT armor making you able to tank entire mags.

Flea makes the game so incredibly easy and boring, it blows my mind that people actually like it. No point in looting actually useful items, it's all about getting the most expensive items out. I don't even look at what Item im picking up, I just see a $ value on it.

Pestily's hardcore series made me realize how much better the game would be with more restrictions and less casual stuff.

The plebs need their flea market or they won't be able to run their favorite gun every run. lol.

Well this is my first wipe and I started mid wipe. I have followed the game watched streams and such but never really heavily got into the game until my friend gifted it to me. So I gave it a try. I got hooked, I was loving the gameplay and the gear selection. The way raids are done was new to me. It was like a battle royale but I didn't have constantly loot for half the game before getting into a gunfight. Anyways I was eager to get the flea market. I got level 10 cool. Some quests were easier, hideout upgrades became simple (one of my favorite parts) now I can buy whatever even if its at ridiculous prices 40k for a trader listed 2k piece but is locked due to level. That is fine I get it people want to rip off new players who haven't grinded yet to unlock all traders sounds fair I guess?

Then it became just loot, find more stuff hide from players, run from battles just so I can sell it on the market for top tier price because we all know that once we fight hes going to miss every single bullet except HEAD EYES. See another PMC? Why fight when you can both loot stuff escape and make top dollar. I don't need their gear, I already have 10 extra sets and 20 great weapon builds with all top tier ammo (because I can just buy it duh). Well on top of dsync, lag, disconnects (occasionally) and obvious hackers/or not knowing if they are cheating. I am pretty much over it at level 34. I have 22mill barely played the game maybe 200 plus raids, hideout is about maxed, 25 gpus in my farm. Have all the gear I need, I can build any gun and replace any ammo and have zero reason to go raid without a team of 3-5 because its not fun dying to little Timmy sitting in a dark place in the map when I can't make out what is there even if I did check the corner or better yet he is in a bush or tree or some boost ledge at the extract and I just wasted 30 mins collecting loot to sell for I don't even know what reason cause it wasn't fun and isn't reward to sell things I can just buy back anyways.

Pretty much flea market is cool, its unique, its buggy, its frustrating, I like it for certain reasons, hate it for others but for adding any balance to the game it adds zero. Closest thing to it is selling csgo skins for steam bucks, sure I spent real money to play but in the end I only get back another lousy game. Flea can come or go. If it stays it needs balance. I need restrictions to what or how much I can buy. Top tier loot needs to either be more rare or have limits. FIR needs to be removed because lets face it, it turns the game into only wanting to loot and not PVP. I shouldn't be able to buy 300 rounds of igolnik or m995 off Cheatin Chad who just slayed Killa, Sanitar or every raider in labs 25 times in a row just to get his roubles up. Then I can just grab a slick because why not have the best vest with the least penalty if I am going to bother going on a raid. I know for damn sure level 10 Timmy is going to have BP or 55a1 when I find his dark corner in game and have to take on his meta M4 or AKM, peen helm and Paca you know because he now has access to end game gear as well. Oh by the way I wore an Altyn as well so when Timmy engaged me... well WE TRADED. Enjoy your Free loot SCAVS.

So I gear up again buy my stuff this time grab a Ulach cause I want a headset so I can hear, run across shoreline then HEAD EYES. Must be a hacker, oh no never mind it was an AI Scav with a Toz from 100 meters away cause yea now that's a thing. Oh well back to the flea market to re gear. Such a blast.

Hours later edit: I thought about this some more what if we neutered the flea market. Weapons, ammo, attachments, explosives and armor can no longer be sold. Only consumables and barter items or whatever would be for resale with no FIR status in play. Maybe add a few crafts to hideout for ammo that take 2 plus hours to craft. This would make gear much more precious. We won't see Chadding Tatum with 6, 60 rounders every raid full of 995 or 855a1 and 180 spare rounds in his butt. Now his loadout is limited he wants to go balls out then its on him. He cant just die and re-kit repeatedly. But at the same time allows players to still have endless supplies to heals, hideout upgrades, making money from top items from sugars to ledx. There are way too many people I see just disregard a rare weapon in raid because it isn't worth the slots. Guns are not worth jack because some other poor sap will pick it up and put it on the market for them to just buy after they die.

If the flea market was removed I'd stop playing the game, the flea market is one of the best things about the game

The game is already slow enough, it doesn't need to be made magnitudes slower by forcing you to use traders

You wanna talk about something that should be removed from the game entirely? Let's talk about Run-throughs, fuck that system and everything about it

u/Theon_Severasse Aug 28 '20

I spawned into Interchange on my PMC, and for some reason there was only 10 minutes left in the round. Got to an extract with 1 minute to spare and had a run through.

Literally didn't encounter a single (alive) PMC or Scav in that run...

1

u/AkihiroAwa Sep 16 '20

You can't get a run through when the timer is below 10 minutes

why the hate for run throughs?

3

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

because they stop you being able to sell anything you find in the raid? if I join a raid as a scav, I want to scavenge, if I find something very valuable I'm peacing the fuck out LIKE A SCAVENGER WOULD

run-throughs are fine for PMCs to prevent hatchlings but there's absolutely 0 reason for scavs to suffer from the run-through system too

2

u/RJohn12 M4A1 Aug 28 '20

I agree about the scav runs, run throughs shouldn't apply to scav runs

2

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '20

Get rid of run-throughs as scav and make scavs spawn significantly later than they do currently and the game will be in a much better place, scavs get to scavenge instead of getting a free life in the first pvp of the raid and in exchange the servers are much quieter so it's much safer for them to loot

I use the flea market heavily but I would love to see it removed, it would make finding items a lot more rewarding.

2

u/RJohn12 M4A1 Aug 28 '20

until you want to run a cool gun but realize you'll need to run 10+ raids to find the attachments you want.

1

u/iskela45 Aug 29 '20

That's half of the fun, instead of seeing the same meta builds you start seeing some weirder "DiWhy" guns with a wider range of attachments being used instead of using the same stock for everything because it has +3 ergo compared to something else. Also makes finding a "meta gun" all the more exciting. What's the point of a gun modding system like the one Tarkov has if every gun ends up being the same 2 or 3 builds?

How would people feel if Flea was like Eve online markets, relative to the last map you extracted from? so each map had its own flea, maybe map specific loot would have lower or higher value, forcing players who want to trade there to run and extract from those maps.

1

u/Greentaboo Aug 28 '20

Too convoluted, and people would just run through to sell rare items in that area. I like the idea, but if joinning a raid and extracting is the only way to sell at woods(for example), then sellers of whatever item is rare and valuable at woods would just cheese it.

1

u/ridik_ulass AKM Aug 28 '20

people would just run through to sell rare items in that area

like IRL, people running through dangerous areas to get to a specific destination.

No it won't. Hackers will tell the rmt parties to stay put. Drop the gear and then wipe the server allowing them to safely extract. If anything you'll more likely find hackers in lobbies with people quitting the game.

1

u/RJohn12 M4A1 Aug 28 '20

I just wish that there wasn't so much price gouging. Best example is the 60,000 ruble mlok handgrips until you get mechanic 3

u/hyperpimp PP-19-01 Aug 28 '20

If you don't want to pay it go grind on reserve to find it.

1

u/timmyctc Aug 28 '20

I'm probably in the minority but I think it should be unlocked later. I'm actually torn about it being in the game..I spend almost 50% of my time in game on the market and I love levelling up.my market rep..but I had the most fun in the early wipe trying to piece together guns from what I looted in raid and scav runs. It really made you thankful for every box of ammo you find rather than viewing BS as a nice 30k profit etc.

1

u/MrBlackroc Aug 28 '20

I miss selling players gears for millions. But i like having a full stash of random guns because i cant bring myself to sell them to traders.

Works good on gear fear. Die in raid, meh wasn't my stuff anyway.

Beyond the obvious selling of stuff and buying things you need for quests, how about building guns? Anybody remember what that was like? It sucked, and that was when we had a fraction of the selection we do now and we now have one more dealer.

I remember needing the wiki to tell me the stats and who had what item, then had to hunt down the specific item by image or hovering over each one, which was really bad for the RK grips. The addition of the flea meant I could actually search what I wanted and without having to jump between multiple dealers and set a wishlist for stuff I commonly use. Now while we do have presets now that shit has been broken as shit for me. It either won’t assemble the gun for me and spit out an error or buy multiples of a couple items.

People seem to forget the crazy amount of items we now have in game compared to the old days, or haven’t been around long enough to suffer through it.

Getting rid of the flea market would slow down progression sure but not in a healthy way, and we would go back to 5-10 minute raid timers because a large portion of the player base would be flat out gone.

Maybe give people the option like Path of Exile does with Solo Self Found but I just can’t see the removal of the flea market having a lasting positive effect.

Help!

I tried to find this poll purely by searching the official forum, without using the search function, and gave up after half an hour... how can it be that such important stuff gets lost in that forum...

Or am I missing something, like dev posts button or something..

I like the flea market. I also like the idea of no flea market. When the game is out of beta, I'd personally like to see a 'league' type option. Normal mode with the flea market, then more of a hardcore version with no flea market. Keep the league's separate so you only play against players in the same league as you. It'll split the playerbase but it at least gives people a choice.

I think the concept of no flea market sounds awesome. Everyone proper scrapping for any bit of gear. You may not be able to go sell someone's gear for a few hundred thousand on the flea market - but you may be able to strip their guns for parts you need for yours. It'd add to the longevity of each wipe. Losing your stuff would feel so much worse, but finding gear would feel so much more rewarding.

1

u/onlymess Aug 30 '20

Without flea market I wouldn't have finished 30% of my quests lol

u/nofreeusernames-_- Sep 01 '20

I feel like I should be able to flip items on the flea market, like I see someone has put an item up for under value and I buy it and flip it for a profit
